As crazy as it sounds I’m too thinking about pre-ordering. Thanks to Apple for at least letting us try these devices each generation.

The Pro is tempting, but the standard iPhone is usually a little easier on the eyes. There’s not much info to go off of yet obviously to make an informed decision.

I don’t recall if anyone who contributes to this thread ever tried the current iPad Mini 6? Any health issues?(besides the jelly scrolling)
It has a LCD screen.

Rumors have it that the next iPad mini might get a dreadful OLED screen - which we all know will suck. So if the current iPad Mini 6 isn’t a nervous system thrasher, maybe now is a good time to get one before the next version comes out

I celebrated the announcement of the 16 and 16 Pro this evening by buying a brand new in box iPhone 11 256GB for $200. I will wait to open it until I see the 16 reviews, but I'm nearly convinced nothing has changed. The 11 should get me through to at least the iPhone 18.

All iPads are problematic for me and I think it may be due to temporal dithering.

I tried it and didn't have any issues. No PWM measured either.

I would, however, recommend the latest iPad Air 11" even more. It's perfect.

  • OnePlus President Li Jie confirmed on Weibo that an upcoming unnamed device will utilize the new BOE X-series display.
  • Li Jie states this continued partnership will progress OnePlus' efforts in creating better screen quality, higher brightness, and an upgraded eye protection experience.
  • The OnePlus 13 will features BOE's X2 display, which takes PWM dimming and blue light filtering to another level above the competition

This is sounds promising. But I don’t trust OP

Nah, next iPad mini will most likely still come with an LCD display. But it will probably be the last LCD iPad mini, yeah.

When IOS17 came along last year and turned my lovely Iphone 11 from headache free to eye & head pain I have lost all confidence in the market.

I could trial the Iphone 16, find out its great and that I get no pain, then along comes IOS18.1 and it turns into a headache machine.

Until the IOS has built in eye protection features we cannot trust any device with any future software.

Sadly it screwed with my eyes, but clearly, I'm very sensitive to PWM and dithering.

I even tried to look past the awful jelly scroll because the iPM6 is the perfect size over using a phone all the time as a mini tablet. But it strained my eye muscles so I had to return it. I hope there is an improvement in the next version.

I also still have an iPhone 11 and would hate to switch to an SE2022. The display is simply far too small.

I'm thinking about buying an M4 Mac Mini in October so I can write from home and tell people on the go that I'll get back to them later, just like I used to do on my PC in the early years.

Or I switch to an older Samsung model and use Dex on an external monitor.

I can't use stage manager on an iPad with an external monitor because of the weird cursor.

I would love to know this as someone who is stuck on 16.7.2 with my iPhone 11.

I like you could not deal with pain in IOS17 but many others were fine with it.

I daren't jump to IOS18 if others are fine with it as good chance I wont be.

Plus I have a feeling if the Iphone 11 goes into IOS18 and beyond it will start to slow.

Guys, for the moment I found a solution to my problem... and a very cheap one :) Since my Xs 256 GB is working perfectly apart from the screen, I asked a local shop if they had a compatible LCD, and with only 50 euros they swapped the screens. I've been using this frankenphone for 2 days now and of course the colors are not that great and the screen is slightly more thicker, but it's not causing harm to my eyes, so I am very very happy. If this solution will work on the long term, I will wait for the allegedly pwm free iPhone 17... come on Apple
