Can you share the brand vitamins ?
Dutch brand Lucovitaal, but you will probably find something similar in your country. The ingredients are specially to enhance eye health. Look for Lutein and Zeaxanthin

I've had the Oppo Find X8 Pro for some time now.
I can only recommend this smartphone to anyone who suffers from PWM.
It's simply fantastic. I don't feel anything at all, not even slight eye fatigue.
It has an eye comfort function and this is just perfect, I can't say more than that.
Yes, it has Android, but it's an iOS Android. ColorOS is basically iOS with Android.
On top of that, it has incredible performance and an incredibly good quad camera.

The day has come. From May 2025 whatsapp will no longer run on my iphone X with iOS 14.X! So the search for a new phone officially begins!
This is the plan:
1) I will try to fit an LCD screen on the iphone 15 that I have been using as a paperweight for a year.
2) Pixel 9
3) Reconditioned iphone 11 pro
Last option is to use my wife's Pixel 4A which gives me no problems.

Yesterday I tried a 16 pro….. worst OLED experience ever. Symptoms from minute one! Very weird because 16 plus was among the best…..
I’m really hesitant to try any iPhone 16 because even if it was better, I know for a fact it’s not fixed. Only incrementally improved if at all, any other temporarily positive feedback I would post in this thread would be an optimistic illusion.

Are you using Ultra anti-flicker or Standard anti-flicker mode?

The Find X8 looks like it might be even better the the X8 Pro.

You'll think I'm sick, but after using the Oppo Find X8 Pro for a while,
which is a really great smartphone, but with Android, I've had an iPhone 16 Plus
here again since today, because that seems to be the best option for some people.
I keep noticing that I don't want anything else but an iPhone with iOS.
I'm going to give the iPhone 16 Plus at least 2 weeks to see if it sticks.
I really want to keep it because I just love the new iPhones. I don't need the Pro,
and unfortunately I couldn't tolerate it. Since I don't spend hours a day on my smartphone.
I'm optimistic that it will work. I was able to use the iPhone 16 as it was.

Oppo:
The display backlight flickers at 86 Hz (worst case, e.g., utilizing PWM) .

The frequency of 86 Hz is very low, so the flickering may cause eyestrain and headaches after extended use.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 8734 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz was measured.

Iphones do have around 240hz which is better pwm.

Just a quick update, the base iPhone 16 is amazing just give it some time. I have tested before the iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 13, iPhone 14. Somehow the micro magnifier screen is working for me. They placed micro loops in the screen to increase brightness at a lower power consumption.
Did you try 16 plus too ?

You had issues with 13 and 14 ? Headaches ?

Where did you get that?

"But while the Find X8 Pro provides an undoubtedly high-end viewing experience, I can’t help but feel that some of the best features are, rather oddly, exclusive to the regular Find X8. That includes much thinner bezels – 1.45mm compared to 1.9mm – and faster 3840Hz PWM dimming that essentially helps reduce flicker when using the screen at lower brightness."

Wha....?! And I was just selling myself on the Oppo Find X8 Pro based on your reply only and now some further investigation.

Do we all have iOS Stockholm?

Fingers crossed for you with the 16 Plus.

"Micro loops in the screen" - what's this now?

I always lookup on notebookcheck.

I always lookup on notebookcheck.

As usual notebookcheck pwm measurements make no sense and conflict massively with Trusted reviews. How would a new flagship phone that they have listed as having a device specifications as 2160Hz PWM Dimming, have a 86Hz reading? Even watching the videos on reddit for this phone show only one, very thin black line which would suggest very high Hz.

Guys hope you all have been doing well.

I had the opportunity to test out the Oppo Find X8 (LTPS, non Pro version) at a local store.

Something did felt off about the phone. I went into its settings and found the root cause. Am I glad I did. For I could now illustrate what could have been introduced to recent panels, including LCDs. Especially after software driver updates.

Below is Oppo Find X8 measured with OPPLE LM3. I will be showing the graph from its data graph for it has the highest reliability.

Now, OPPO seem to have introduced this software enhancement feature called "Pixel Filtering", which I believed already existed in apps like OLED-saver.

As quoted below:

Now that 2760 x 1256 is selected, the OLED panel refreshes the pixels uniformly, rather than having the pixels abnormal shifting dimming.

As below; The Oppo Find X8 native panel is 2760 x 1256, rather than the default 2376 x 1080. Thus running it at its original intended hardware specification removed the above additional flicker.

As a chronic migraine sufferer such as myself — who is extremely susceptive to flicker, I can say the difference in my subjective usage is from "not usable"(with Pixel Filtering on) to "somewhat tolerable"(Pixel Filtering off). I think this would be very usable for those whom had success with smartphone OLED panels.

This Pixel Filtering phenomenon seems to be the norm in the recent 6 years. They could be found in monitors and even smart TVs.

Here in Oppo Find X8 for instance, it is possible to run pixel filtering to increase perception of screen sharpness and contrast. This would commonly result even more abrupt ripple flickers.

With OLED and Mini LEDs panel it is much easier to detect (on the flicker meter) since it generally runs below 20khz.

LCDs panels however, run significantly higher thus it is far more difficult to for a flicker meter to detect the implementation. That said, if a flicker meter could not detect it, it does not mean we could not perceive it.

I just bought a new iPhone SE third generation and I can't look at the screen for more than a minute without my eyes hurting intensely, didn't have this issue with my previous phone (iPhone 8). I've switched the 5G off and have tried every combination of dimming or brightening the screen, turning on night mode / dark mode / true tone etc. It is definitely something about the screen. I will need to return it since I can't see myself continuing to use it (3 days and I'm already having to severely limit my usage plus my eyes hurt all the time). I've noticed this when looking at other people's screens in the past but people don't seem to have any issues, so it must be a particular sensitivity. I thought it was 5G, but it's definitely not, it's the screen.

Yeap it killed my eyes too 6 months ago that i tested it.

Here is my first impression of the iPhone 16 Plus, which I have had here for the third day now.
With all other iPhone 16 models, I had minimal problems from the start and thought it would work,
but after a few days or weeks, unfortunately, it stopped working. Very annoying.
With the iPhone 16 Plus that I have here now, I don't notice any discomfort. It feels very good.
Now I hope that it stays that way and that I can use this great piece of technology permanently.
I don't want an iPhone SE anymore, and especially not an Android smartphone. I love iOS, that's just the way it is.

You had issues after few days with normal 16 ?

At the beginning I hardly had any problems, but always felt a slight discomfort.
This remained and didn't get any better, so I didn't want to use the iPhone 16 anymore.
I didn't want to feel like that. With the iPhone 16 Plus I don't feel any discomfort at all.
I hope it stays that way, because the iPhone 16 Plus is beautiful and technically perfect.
It's so good to use an OLED iPhone again after the iPhone 12 Pro, without feeling any discomfort.
Today I have several hours of display on time and no complaints. I found reading very easy.
