Facebook 3.0 is here!

One thing I'm worried about...

I have a number of people on a limited profile list, so they can only see certain things on my page, and not others. I have it set to not let those folks see my status updates...but when i updated from Facebook 3.0, they can see it. When I update from my computer, they can't. Kinda weird.

Yes it is a bug. They have already found it and are working on a fix.
 
i can't see how the facebook app can be related to what other people can see from your feed.

Because the app isn't posting it as a "status update". It's posting it as a "wall post". If someone comments on it, you'll notice the notification says "so-and-so made a comment on your post". If they comment on a status you posted from the web, it will say "so-and-so made a comment on your status".

Also, if you filter your news feed to just show status updates you won't see your updates or those made by friends via the app, further indicating that it's not posting it as a "status update" but rather a wall post.

You can hide posts made by your friends to your wall, but you apparently can't hide your own posts to your own wall.
 
On FB 2, and now 3, I keep getting "cannot load friends". Anyone know why I get this ? I tried deleting and reinstalling FB but no luck :(
 
Is it just me, or is the facebook chat not organized by the letter of the last name (like in the friends list). Now it is all just in alphabetical order, while before, it was in alphabetical order, and divided by the letter.
 
Love it but a few things...

I have a lot of people on limited profile...what does this bug mean for me? These are people from work so i have to be safe.

My uploaded videos are not uploading to my Facebook?

Shake to reload isn't working for me :-(

Yeah I noticed that too - bit of a pain. Couldn't see a way to change it though. Also the times for events don't appear to be corrected for timezone so all mine are 8 hours out (as UK is 8 hours ahead of West coast US I guess). I sent joe a tweet about it though so hopefully it will get fixed.

My app crashes sometimes when I go to browse all my friends, and then I tap a certain letter.

Also, anyone know how I can set it to always open up to that "main" page with all the different icons?

Go into settings and then selectr Facebook and turn on shake to reload.

Good question. Not sure, but you can just make sure that that page is the last one you view before exiting the app. It seems the app will always go back to the last page you were on. I've only been using the FB app since last night (literally 10 minutes when I got a note that there was an update to the 3.0 software).
 
Oh and i cannot use Chat...it switches between names and then names divded by the letter of the alphabet...arghhh i am getting stressed.

i also have a 1st gen 8gb iphone, and i have only about 100mb free of space, i have more than 220 apps installed on it... AND i got the facebook 3.0 update, downloaded directly on the iphone, and didnt even reboot, and im lovin it havent crashed once! and ive added soo many pages of friends etc... (and by the way, did u guys know u can edit ur facebook pages' icons just like u do to iphone apps on the homescreen?? soo coool!!)
 
you still cant remove someone from your friends list from this app, like you could online....

Dude my videos are not uploading...what do i need to do?
 
Hm, still not showing up as an update for me on my phone ...

I dunno why, but I'd rather update then delete and re-download. I have no idea why though.
 
Is facebook chat in 3.0, switching between names in alphabetical order and names divded by the letter of the alphabet?
