Wait are you guys sayIng this is the exact same speed as the iPhone 7+? Cause the fast charge capibility comes from the phone too not just the cables..
[doublepost=1506290948][/doublepost]

Oh ok, nice. Thought u were in airplane mode.
Did a test in airplane mode that added approx 2% to each data point. Intervals sparodic so I didn’t bother plotting.
It does seem somewhat faster than my 7+. Did a test using the same 29w cable on the 7+ and got to 36% in 30mins and 53% in 45 mins, hence providing the 8 plus a c7% benefit at these markers. Didn’t extend beyond 45mins as I’m all tested out

Ok here is my data. This is an iphone 8+ with wifi and blue tooth on. Next time i will put it in airplane mode to test that. This is with the Apple 6ft cable and Audkey 29W charger

Battery % Time (M:sec)
1 0:00
3 0:50
5 1:50
10 4:56
17 10:00
25 14:53
35 22:00
47 30:00
50 32:07
55 35:30
60 38:30
65 42:45
70 46:14
79 60:00

after this i got distracted by football. sorry

can you provide a link for the car charger? also let us know how it works when you get it

Dang u left out the most important part. 80-100% bahah but understand cause of football..

The charger will be here wed, I thought the QC3.0 usba port would work for fast but the phone won’t allow it..Here is the link, I heard they work really good with Apple usb c cable.

Man, they really screwed this one up. Or I think they are waiting for that update cause they want to implement there own fast charging tech. AirPower is an example. If they do that and offer Qi charging as well then they cover both sides but only make Apple ecosystem able to use the better tech. Who knows what they are doing at this point. But this so called “fast charging” results are making me more and more depressed.. lol

I purchased the Apple 29 watt charger. When I get it I will post data here. I wonder if it will preform better?

It’s really the usbc cable that u need.

I only use Apple cables. Learned that a long time ago. I just wonder if the Apple charger will make a difference

I suppose they could code the phone and charger to only “fast charge” if you buy their charger. We will see

They won’t. The whole point of USB-C PD adoption is to allow a standardized high power delivery system across devices. Well, I’ve already mentioned it earlier, but I use a RAVPower power bank to fast charge my iPad Pros @ 30W. The only annoying part is that Apple doesn’t seem to allow 3rd party MFi certified USB-C to lightning cables - that would allow for a fully third-party charging setup.

Why didn't Apple just do people a solid and put the damn quick charger in with an iPhone 8/8+ packaging?

We all ought to write to Craig, and see if he has some explanation for this crippled version of "fast" charging. The $500 OnePlus 5 outperforms in this department by a mile.

This is one of many areas where their marketing hype hasn't been living up to real world performance.

SuperSaf showed a YouTube video where the Note 8 beat the iPhone 8+ in fast charging from 0% to 100% too. It's crazy:

Since we can be 99% certain that these phones have different sizes of batteries, I have no idea what this proves?

The video shows the iPhone leading for most of the time until the end when the Note pulls ahead while the iPhone super slows down past 90%. As someone who is a little OCD about batteries, this behavior by the iPhone should help the longevity of the battery some.

It will be interesting to see this develop. I really want to see an iPad 12w charger vs rapid charging.

79/80 in 60 mins is exactly the same I get with Apple 29w/USB-C/Lightning on iPhone 7 Plus. +40 minutes till 100. I assume that 7 should have the same ‘quick’ charging as 8 then...

Sounds similar to how the iPhones had water resistance before they formally announced it starting the iPhone 7. And they will improve on it the next generation as "now 50% even faster!".

It's also normal. iPhone charging slows quite a bit as you get closer to 100%. Pretty sure this has been the case for awhile. That 98% to 100% takes a lifetime.

Edit: I believe iOS devices have a battery discharge feature to keep the battery from overcharging to protect the battery...and prevent detonation.

Tests were done on 3rd Party bricks and some worked. It was just the cable that had to be Apple.

But QC3.0 uses INOV and is 38% more efficient than 2.0 which is a huge difference. And we all know how long it takes Apple to adopt newer tech out in the world. And when I take off my case and charge my 7+ it gets pretty warm which we really don’t notice cause we all have cases. So how much more efficient is this model going to be. And is the total time from 0-100% going to be the same as the 7+, we know the 0-50% is faster...
[doublepost=1506342420][/doublepost]
Because they know mugs will buy it anyway and they like make people pay more

Cause they wouldn’t be the first public company to reach a trillion if they did.. bastards lol

It proves that even tho the note 8 has a bigger battery, it charges it faster to 100% over the 8+ With a smaller battery By 25 min. Which proves that they still have the better tech in that dept. but not sure if he was using a QC3.0 port on the note 8 cause going to 50% wasn’t as fast as the 8+
[doublepost=1506344167][/doublepost]Have you guys seen the charge test between the 8+, Note8 and oneplus 5?! The Oneplus went from 0-100% in 83 min and it has a bigger battery, wow! 8+ in 190 min. Now these were all done with the standard chargers in the box it came with. Apple only ones to not offer faster charging in the box.. I think the only way Apple gets there act together is people start switching to Android devices cause this is rediculous that we get screwed in the world..lol

The note 8 uses qc 2.0, like the s8 before it.
