Ok so how would I be able to update this? It will be like an IOS update?
You'll have to sign up for the beta or go through some alternate means to get the developer profile.

Newbie accounts coming to offer help and advice on Apple stuff. Possibly a good sign. It was with me recently.
It was meant as a compliment..recently there have been people from Apple, on their own accord, helping people here. I was helped and it was amazing.I might be new to this site but I've had an iPhone since the iPhone 1..not that that's any of your concern...smart...nvm
Oh so they don't make it an IOS update it'll always be available only to developers? You'll have to sign up for the beta or go through some alternate means to get the developer profile.

If you are considering this path, I highly recommend the Public Beta, not the Developers Beta. It’s easy to do via the Apple Public Beta .. but keep in mind.. you may get new bugs.Oh so they don't make it an IOS update it'll always be available only to developers?
Yes that's what I was reading about. I don't believe I'll be doing it. Thanks for the help!If you are considering this path, I highly recommend the Public Beta, not the Developers Beta. It’s easy to do via the Apple Public Beta .. but keep in mind.. you may get new bugs.

..in fairness.. I have been known as a bit of a smart***
It’s actually quite clever wording. It doesn’t comment on how many handsets are affected, only that it’s an issue affecting users in a small number of cases. We are a ‘small’ number of users, but a representative sample nonetheless!IMO.. I agree with the canned “small number” response. Also, I think Apple admitting awareness and acknowledgment of issue so quickly points to them being close to a solution. ... unlike Repair Depots replacing bad keyboards with bad keyboards.. crickets there...sorry.. couldn’t resist mini-rant.

Only had a few phone calls today but the crackling noise does seem fixed in 11.1B1 for me too.iOS 11.1 definitely seems to have fixed the popping issue for me.

Except that’s only for developers
How?Ok, you can either wait a few weeks or get it another way. I don’t have a developer account and I have the beta.
Ok thanks! This was very helpful. No, it'll be available as a normal update in a few weeks. Depends how long they run the beta for.
Me too!! I love this phone. I don't regret getting it even with the crackle lolAside from everything that's already been said, I'd like to add that the iPhone 8 is gorgeous. So happy with it.

How?
Whole fam got the hookup.I have the crackling issue with my 8+ 256, space grey, unlocked with a Verizon sim.
It is not with every phone call.
My son has the same phone and I have no crackling during calls with him.
My daughter also has the same phone and I do have crackling with every phone call with her.
I installed the update Apple released today (11.0.1) and I still had the crackling when I talked with my daughter.
Two 1 minute calls to this number. First call no crackling, even turning speakerphone on/off. Second call no crackling until speakerphone on/off. 11.0.1Just upgraded to the first developer beta of iOS 11.1 (15B5066f). The static clicking sound seems to have been reduced. However, the voice of the other party still sounds muffled--definitely not as clear as my previous iPhone 7. I tried calling 611 (T-Mobile) five times and 1-866-210-2157 several times.
It is just me? Anyone having the same experience? I will make a long FaceTime audio call later tonight to verify
EDIT - never mind! Tried a short FaceTime audio call (through receiver), and it was fine. Could just be me. I would say iOS 11.1 did indeed improve the situation
Does the voice sound muffled to you, in a quiet room, with volume set to around level 6? It could just be the quality of this number though. The quality of my FaceTime audio call was acceptable to me, just slightly muffled, no static noise so farTwo 1 minute calls to this number. First call no crackling, even turning speakerphone on/off. Second call no crackling until speakerphone on/off. 11.0.1
Hold off on 11.1 for now. It did fix the popping issue on my 8+, but there were some new bugs and I ended up going back to 11.0.1.
It’s at least good to know it is a software issue.
