I’d say switching up your branding to look like one plus, and eschewing an iconic shape associated with the iPhone (and apple products in general) for launching another phone… that is shortsighted imo.
It does not look like OnePlus. Look again. The bottom left and top right of the square are notched. Stop lying to yourself.

Lying to myself? No reason to be like that. We will found out in less than a week. I’d love a repairable iphone but there is 0 reason to expect that from modern apple.

I explicitly listed at least 6 reasons that allow you to think it’s Apple. You’re ignoring them and keep saying “there’s no reason to think that this is Apple.” Seriously? It’s not a very far jump.
I don’t agree with your reasons! This is not the first time someone has cheekily mimicked certain aspects of Apple’s marketing, while also keeping enough of a distance.

amazing how this thread goes on ...
Apple running a "teaser campaign" all the while running its usual secretive new iPhone launch ...

biggest hint: the R in the square that they used for iPhone XR - they would not re-use that for a "new" iPhone ...

But keep dreaming, that's what MR is all about

I'm going to laugh so hard if this ends up being a Apple ad and all so called Apple experts are going to make up some excuse as to why they didn't know...

I have zero investment in saying it is or isn't Apple since I do not care one bit, but I am enjoying this thread and seeing how many people are getting into it with each other for no apparent reason (and of course hearing all the "expert" opinions).

They very well possibly could as a replacement for Iphone SE2022 - this would be Iphone 15R(educed) for $600-$700 with the chip from base Iphones but with 1 camera, iphone 12-13 body shell. This way they could tell that the whole phone is recycled at this point.

Where’s the distance in this instance? Seriously would like to know.

Couldn’t OnePlus be switching up their branding? Or, is it only Apple that switches up their branding? Or, is the company that switches branding whichever one needs to switch branding in a particular sentence?

They could, possibly, except the timing is off.
They want to brag about the latest and greatest next week, not at the same time talking about a lower margin product.
Has any SE model ever been announced at the same time as the Pro?

I have zero investment because I don’t care one way or the other, but I’m going to LAUGH SO HARD at only one particular outcome :D Because, you know, not caring one way or the other would certainly NOT lead to laughing at both outcomes equally (or not laughing at both outcomes at all).

I think the humor derives from the investment of others...

This is just a brainstorming for giggles - we need to spend these 6 days somehow.

I don’t think xaomi officially sells in the states, so running ads in the states would be weird.
Everything about this is weird. It’s just definitely not Apple, and it’s stupid to think it is.

Looking at Fairphone’s site…this may very well be them. Edit: looks like the Fairphone 5 has already been announced, so probably not.

Plot twist: iFixit releases a phone

Touché 🤣
Following your logic though, no company switches up branding and therefore this is a completely new company.

Did you guys see the latest picture of the ad? Tell me that’s not an iPhone…

Nice job downplaying your investment so when you’re proven wrong you can say “I DIDNT EVEN CARE THAT MUCH”
