Maybe they put it on the vintage list when they stop selling it as new (assuming they stopped selling cMP in 2013). Or do they just go by the year of manufacturing?

Technically, it's impossible to provide proper AppleCare+ for vintage product. And They still selling AppleCare+ for nMP today. Which means, nMP shouldn't be vintage in the next 3 years?

Well this means they have at least 3 years to come up with a new MP . We will watch when they stop selling Apple Care and start counting 3 years for a new MP.

Very late to this party, but having same problem as you below. I updated from Sierra to High Sierra 10.13.6. On a macpro5,1 running a non-EFI GTX TITAN. Latest CUDA Driver Version 410.130 installed.

CUDA Preferences in System Preferences also show "Update Required," despite running the latest CUDA Driver. Thought running NVIDIA Web Driver 387.10.10.10.40.113 might help resolve the problem, but unable to install (Mac OS X version not compatible . . . MAC OS X version 10.13.6 (17G4015) is required . . .).

Would appreciate any thoughts to resolve this issue, unable to use GPU in any apps.

I just updated to 10.13.6 High Sierra and none of the web drivers I've tried are compatible.
I have a flashed GTX680 so I can just use the built-in drivers, but why is CUDA throwing up an "update required" but won't allow an update, and why do the web drivers installer show "not compatible"?

It's like I have some vague version of High Sierra installed...

Try 387.10.10.15.15.108, working fine for me since it's release. It's been pulled, so you'll need to download from a non-NVIDIA source. Search this forum (and this thread).

NVIDIA web driver itself is required for CUDA. The default macOS/OSX driver does NOT work with CUDA.

I've updated to 387.10.10.10.40.113 after installing Security Update 2018-003. So running latest NVIDIA Driver (387.10.10.10.40.113) and CUDA Driver (410.130). You are correct that the default macOS Graphics Driver is loaded instead of the NVIDIA Web Driver. I've selected the NVIDIA Web Driver instead of the macOS Graphics Driver, restarted, only to find the macOS Graphics Driver loaded again. System refuses to load NVIDIA Web Driver on restart. Additionally, I have "Allow apps downloaded from: App Store and identified developers" selected but still rolling back to macOS Graphics Driver on Restart. Any suggestions? Thanks again!!

Try 387.10.10.15.15.108, working fine for me since it's release. It's been pulled, so you'll need to download from a non-NVIDIA source. Search this forum (and this thread).

When installing WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.113.pkg I clicked "Open Anyway" followed by "Open" so Gatekeeper appeared to be active. I'm attaching images of the prompts below.

SIP is active, ran "csrutil status" in Terminal which returned:
"System Integrity Protection status: enabled."

Any other advice on how to restart with the NVIDIA Web Driver instead of the macOS Graphics Driver? I'm running a non-EFI GTX TITAN, but I suspect this shouldn't be an issue. Many thanks in advance.

Was careful to watch all prompts during install, but those were the only 2 I saw

NDAGV100HalWeb is the VOLTA web driver, which is only available in 387.10.10.15.15.108.

The last modified dates do not line up with a recently installed driver being used, however I'm not 100% positive if these dates are from the 387.10.10.10.40.113 installer (which was released 12/10/2018), or if they were just installed at that time on your system.

Sort by version column and look at all the 10.33.0 versions and you'll see 12/7/18 @ 5:07AM / 5:22AM dates and times.

Don’t need CUDA until NVIDIA Web Driver is resolved and figured out.

Default driver is NOT what you want to use with TITAN. You want to choose NVIDIA WEB DRIVER from pull down menu. Then shutdown, install TITAN and then restart system with ONLY the TITAN GPU installed. Only have one GPU installed at a time.

Cuda does not work with the Mac default Driver.

Just follow his instructions-get the web-driver showing as enabled and acceleration functioning under the GT 120. Then think about swapping in the Titan.

Hi Lou, yes 17G4015 with WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.113.

People here have had luck with WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.108. If I can't get 17G4015 to work, might roll back to 10.12, reinstall High Sierra and work my way up to 17G3025 to run WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.108.

Anyone here have CUDA working with 17G4015?

Are you running build (17G4015)? There are 4 builds of HS 10.13.6.

Did you read all of the installation notes from NVIDIA and follow ALL of the information on the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION tab?

Because of improvements in macOS security, the Security & Privacy Preferences may open during the installation process. If it does, click “Allow” in order for the NVIDIA Graphics Driver to load, then return to the Installer and click “Restart”.

5050, I am using the pulled 108 driver, so can't answer your question concerning the 113 driver. And yes, Cuda works in 10.13.6 (17G4015) with the 108 driver.

@5050 - 387.10.10.10.40.108 is for 10.13.6 build 17G3025 ONLY. You stated you are on 17G4015, so this driver will NOT work.

387.10.10.15.15.108 or 387.10.10.10.40.113 are your only options for 17G4015, unless you use a modifier script. (If you're having issues with a basic install, this won't help anything.)
