IPhone is a great product I'm not doubting that and I've said all along if I'm to leave the note line it will be for the 5'5 iPhone bit the features need to be there. The widgets need to be there for me. The s pen is a great feature and useful but it wouldn't be the sole reason to buy the note for me.

I see Alot of people moaning about iOS granted not as much as tw. IPhone is great where it just works. You don't need to be techy to enjoy the experience. I want the iPhone 5'5 to wow me so I can choose between the two but I fear it won't come near what the note offers. Hope I'm wrong.

Game, I wouldn't expect you to be wowed by the new iPhone--you have very specific preferences for your device and the Note seems to hit it perfectly. Looks like the new Note will be a great upgrade for you. A new larger iPhone likely won't lure customer's like yourself.

My response was purely to illustrate not everything is about specs. Some people just prefer iOS, limitations and all and I think Samsung may lose a fair amount of their existing Note customers to a similarly sized iPhone.

I'm sorry, I seemed to have taken this thread off on a tangent so I apologize. My initial point was only in regards to Samsung missing out on some potential sales by not releasing the new Note 4 sooner. I'd like to get back to discussion regarding the device itself so I'll keep any future comments on that topic.

Any decent pictures of the bronze gold? Out of curiosity. So it's almost imperceptibly narrower, noticeably taller and heavier. hmm. I hope to wait and see how it pans out using it in person. If they had the Galaxy S5 LTE-A in the states I would probably get that. I probably would get the LG G3 too except the screen over sharpening bothers me a lot. The Note Edge seems kind of gimmicky and a big gripe I have with iPhones is the lack of manual HD quality control in YouTube when on cellular data and no straightforward user-accessible filesystem... difficulty downloading certain attachments, etc. Not trying to bash iPhone here I just have learned to use Android quite well over the last almost 2 years. The battery life has been better for me on the Note 2 as well.

This has some pictures of 3 of the colors, but doesn't have a good head on view of them:

You don't need to apologise, your points are valid.

My only thing is all the rumours suggest iPhone 5'5 is having production issues so really maybe Note 4 being out in October won't hurt as much one would think.

For the record I do think it's stupid it has to wait till October

I'll be going with the Note 4 over the Edge. The edge screen just seems like something I would rarely use after a week. I also rather not sacrifice 0.1 screen size and more thickness cause of the edge screen.

I guess the Note 4 is a good step in a new direction.

The design genuinely reminds me of an old BlackBerry.

Personally, I think Samsung did an excellent job on their new products. Hopefully, they've added some nice s pen software upgrades (jury is still out on just what). If most of the upgrades weren't already pretty much divulged, many would consider the Note 4 a good upgrade. At this point, criticizing it's size is pretty silly. Too, the Note line is a real success. Keeping many of the features is just smart. For example, it seems that blog posters are criticizing the rumored specs of the upcoming Moto X + 1; it's too big (not as ergonomic as the X), not as nice looking, etc... It remains to be seen if the upgrades convince many satisfied Moto X customers to upgrade?

Some of you that upgrade often (more than 1 or 2 yearly) have unrealistic expectations and are really not OEMs' target.

Also, the Note Edge looks interesting. Admittedly, without real world examples, it's tough to judge. We'll see...

Let's see how the criticisms of the new iPhone turn out? Regardless, it will sell in record #s and it looks like a good upgrade.

Has there been any announcement if Note tablets 2014 will get this new UI update or are we basically stuck as we are?

You forgot slightly thicker. :) The gold looks kind of nice, I'm not sure if I like the gold bezels but I'm not sure I don't like them either lol.

So its basically a taller, thicker and heavier Note 3 with a slightly better display. And all the Android fans bash Apple for incremental updates with each iPhone. Oh the irony...Samsung is done.

Stop trolling

It has more than just a better display. It's a good improvement on last year's model.

Is it loads better? Maybe not but it's still well worth upgrading.

Nope, Apple gets bashed for being late to the party. Samsung has already included everything under the sun, so there is not much to be expected but better specs. And somehow they still chose to throw in the Edge for those who want something different.

Hmm thicker in which dimension? I'm pretty sure I read the thickness horizontally was 0.03 inches thinner... height was taller and "thinness" was the same as the Note 3.

Yet when the iPhone 6 turns up with a bigger display and is thinner and faster than the previous model Apple will have reinvented the wheel.. Again.

Definitely liking this phone. I just wish Samsung didn't paint the metal sides and instead left the silver aluminum as is. Now to see what Google has to offer with the Nexus.

#1 question should be, locked bootloader or not Samscum ? AT&T's Note 3 was a disaster for XDA Development. Crickets chirping, and tumble weeds blowing in the development threads on the Note 3 last year. Took till after the New Year just to get basic Root on the AT&T Note 3

Note 4 will be locked down even more F. that.

Why can't Samesung be open like HTC, and allow the bootloader to be officially unlocked free of charge, and direct from the manufacturers website.

That is why I own an AT&T HTC One M8, which I then happily and easily converted to GPE.

Just buy a unlocked international note 4 that has no bloat on it and use your att Sim?

This may be an option, all depends on bands

But it's gotta be all but sure that all us models aside from tmobile will be locked down.

Tmobiles note may be an option for att too

When I was looking and picked my s4 gpe, I was very close to buying a second hand tmobile s4 for use on att for cheap. But in the end I paid more for official updates since full conversion on s4 is not possible, unlike the one's.

Damn I'm sad new gpe phones seem dead(m8 being the exception this year) Hope silver eventually materializes. Love my s4 gpe and looking forward to Android L. Wish it was waterproof and better screen in daylight but that's about it.

I get the feeling that even with all the product lines Samsung has, they don't want to dilute their brand by offering stock android (s5 gpe doesn't exist), which just friggin makes me smile. Because that's exactly what I want :-/
