I think we can go back a few months and see that I predicted no removable battery & no micro SD whilst everyone else was convinced otherwise ;)

Samsung's profits are still struggling even after the success of the S6. They need to maximise profit. Why let other manufacturers make money selling SD Cards when they (Samsung) can make potentially an extra $100-200 per device on just bumps to internal storage.

It's just business sense. Forget controller board arguments that some are using to say they 'have to do it this way' or any other justification - the reality is Samsung's aim to secure a success whilst enhancing / maximising its profit margin. Bumps to internal storage do exactly that.

I also expect the base price to increase a little this year too, moreover in Europe than USA much like the S6.

You and I both MRU...believe we offered to eat our shoe if this wasn't the case. :D

And while obviously nothing is confirmed, looking less likely that I'll have to be developing a taste for leather. ;)

I keep trying to tell myself I'm not buying note 5 after just buying S6 edge.

Keep telling myself stick with the S line edge going forward and just buy a new tablet. But with the 12.2 do I need a new tablet. ..ugh

My current plan was to stick with S6 edge and get the new S tab 2 for one the go but dunno rocking S6 edge and note 5 is so tempting

S6 edge is perfect size for daily tasks while S tab 8.0 could be my on the go tablet which I can use when I need to browse on a bigger device

The only reason I have the Note series is the stylus, otherwise I wouldn't buy this piece of crap again. If they ditch removable memory that may seal the deal for me as I use my SD card a ton. Is it just me or do Android flagship releases seem kind of mediocre this year? Maybe with continuum in windows 10 I may give a windows phone another shot, especially if we get a surface phone.

Sorry but the Galaxy S6 was not mediocre. But to each his own.

Huh? Really? S6/edge has been seen as the best phone out this year by many.

Certainly by most reviewers and all mobile networks here. They all say S6 line is the best phone out currently

Yeah the S6 is nice, although I don't know how smooth it is. I'm just a bit frustrated at all the things that go wrong on my Note 4.

In fairness dude I'm getting frustrated by mine in terms of battery life and how Laggy it's becoming. Not sure why either as it was fine before.

S6 edge on the other hand is very smooth and I havnt had any lag at all.

Being on 5.1 might be helping this

How many Note 4 replacements have you had? Was it like 10?

Man I lost count, I think 6 or 7. The GPS issues still persist which bums me out as I use it every day. The WiFi is also screwy, if I'm on a weak WiFi connection such as leaving my house, or leaving my office the phone refuses to realize it's a weak connection and will hold onto it as long as it can, even though it's not enough to get data. Finally a few blocks away it realizes this and switches to cellular. So I'm stuck with no data for several minutes, more if I need to do something in the parking lot/driveway before I leave. Between that and the failing GPS sometimes I have to drive around for 10 minutes or so before I can even use navigation.

I've had good luck with the lag using All in One Toolbox, very nice app. Lag still persists though and it's worse at some times, other times it's not bad at all. I used to be one of the "no lag" crowd, but learned the hard way that TW is rough. Still, I absolutely love TW and the hardware as well.

Good to hear the S6 is smooth, it gives me hope for the Note 5. I was just reading an article today that Microsoft is hinting at stylus capability in it's flagship phone it will release with windows 10, but this was before Elop was beheaded. I'm ready to jump ship to anyone who comes up with a decent stylus implementation.

Why dont Samsung price a 128gb Note 5 edge phone the same price as the 64gb iphone and also make it the entry version available. It would stop all the 'I want an SD card slot brigade' and as a brand they need to offer more per $ than Apple. Samsung completely shoot themselves in the foot by pricing at equivalent prices and even at higher prices than Apple. Yes we know the edge screens are more expensive but tough ****. You have to offer more due to your history of producing ugly plastic rubbish.

and therein lies the rub..... No matter what Samsung does they can't win. People complain about rubbish plastic phones. Samsung delivers on probably the Android phone of the year. Then people complain it is too expensive yet it is cheaper than the iphones people compared them to. Give away free storage for their phones yet you don't expect other companies to do that. Somehow they get a pass and Samsung is held to a different standard. The edge screens are revolutionary/evolutionary in design. There are bendable/foldable screens coming out of this kind of innovation.

The S6 edge is a nice phone but it should be the same price as the S6 which should be cheaper than its launch RRP (although prices are now tanking as is usual with android phones).

Consistent drop in profits have told Samsung that the current formula does not work.

Yep the Edge unsubsidised pricing in Europe is reckless.

€1049 ($1200) for a 128gb Edge, and I suspect the Note 5 will be closer to the Edge pricing more so than the S6, means the Note 5 could potentially be the most expensive handset on the market.

Hell yeah, it's a sweet phone. Maybe I'll go fondle one at BB after work tonight. I'm not sure if I can live without my stylus though.
Know what you mean. Thunk will stick with my note 4 as a backup if needed but dealing with S6 edge it feels a more reasonable size.

Guess that could change when note 5 wows me but what makes more sense would be use my S6 edge and get the new S tab tablet for on the go usage.

Only error Samsung has made this year was make less S6 edge's. They didn't expect how great the sales would be.

I expect the sales to only get better as the year goes on

All reports say they can't keep up with the demand.

Samsung nailed it with the hardware with the new galaxy line. (i could care less about SD storage or removable battery.) Can they please please please now work on TW even more and match their beautiful hardware with an amazing Android skin?

TW is a disaster and don't bother with your "just download Nova" blah blah blah. No!

To be honest I'm kind of liking the slimmed down touchwiz. Certainly a lot better for me.

Hopefully it keeps getting better

Sames here.... TW just keeps getting better every revision. I am all for more improvements but it is not as bad as people make it out to be. Easy solution if people don't like TW is don't buy a phone with it.

I was using nova but now I'm sticking with TW for now. I think it's pretty good. Lighten quick with no lag at all

Man I have seen a lot of reports all over about Samsung releasing the Noite 5 early in August or early Sept. I hope they are true! The Note 5 or Galaxy S6 Plus (whatever they call it) will be my next phone.

http://www.neowin.net/news/samsung-...5-early-in-an-attempt-to-steal-apples-thunder

http://www.droid-life.com/2015/07/1...y-note-5-earlier-than-expected-because-apple/
I'm trying to tell myself just settle for the S6 edge....although I know note 5 will be fantastic

I should just stick with edge and the new S tab 2 8.0 version
