New Note 5 renders and rumors. I want this phone!

If the rumors from a ton of tech sites are correct, M is being release in Sept not Nov.
- Nexus-One release = January 5th 2010 ( First phone with Android 2.1 Eclair )
- Nexus-S release = December 16th 2010 ( First phone running Android 2.3 Gingerbread )
- Galaxy Nexus release = November 17th 2011 ( First phone running ICS 4.0 )
- Nexus 4 release = November 13th 2012 ( Shipped with an updated Jellybean 4.2 )
- Nexus 5 release = October 31st 2013 ( First phone to run Kit Kat 4.4 )
- Nexus 6 release = November 2014 ( First phone running Lollipop 5.0 )
See the pattern here ? All Nexus phones are released around the November time frame. And are usually the first phone to have the latest Android OS. I have never seen a new Android OS released before the new Nexus phone, those two releases are simultaneous; a new Nexus phone + new Android OS.
We will not see the Note 5 launched with Android M in September, no way. The Note 5 will 99% launch with Lollipop 5.1.1, and then come Oct / Nov the new next gen Nexus phone will come out running Android M.
Yep...that render looks pretty reliably what the Note 5 will look like if they follow the S6 design.I was about to post that. Looks fairly real to me.

Well...it is a render. I do love the over all design and unibody features like the S6.Nice enough, definitely an improvement from previous designs, though like MRU, I find it a somewhat too sharp and square, and almost a bit cold in design--but of course, just my personal design preferences.
Question though--it's not evidently clear in this image but more so in the other renders at the link--what's going on with the weird trapezoidal shaped section on the front top? Ruins, the sleek front design aesthetic, IMO.
Finally, read that they may include a new S-Pen pop up mechanism (though the render shows the S-Pen still at the bottom of the device ) that uses an electromagnet ejection system to automatically pop out the S-Pen based on a gesture and/or voice command. This sounds like Samsung creating a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. Is tapping the S-Pen with your finger to release it really that laborous? You still need to use your hand to grab the stylus so, it's already in the vicinity. How is a voice command or gesture (requiring you hand somewhere other that the stylus slot ) a really time saver? If anything, it seems far more likely to accidentally release the S-Pen and thus maybe losing it or snagging it on something.
For me though stock Android is pretty boring. Kinda featureless. TW has its problems but at least it has a battery meter that shows how much battery you have left. there are things that stock does well. Then there are some that it just makes me scratch my head.Looks promising!
The great looks of the new S6 line and a better battery will be welcomed. TW is still a memory hog, terrible UI IMO but this device checks a lot of boxes for me.
Will be hard to put down the Nexus 6 though and the speed, efficiency of stock Lollipop

I have no idea what that weird trapezoidal shaped section on the front top is either.
Personally I don't need a voice ejection mechanism for the S-Pen either. Don't see how useful that would be. But you know how these rumors go.....nothing is for certain until launch day.

There are rumors of a toned down more efficient TW for the Note 5. But who knows? We won't know until it is released and we get our hands on it!TW is going to ruin this for me, isn't it?
Any word if Samsung is putting any work into TW?

GSMArena also tested the Galaxy S6 against a Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 sporting one of the fastest microSD cards available, and still found the S6 to have a strong lead in terms of memory performance. It’s clear to see that a microSD card simply cannot match the performance offered by UFS 2.0 storage, and it’s one reason why anyone expecting to see expandable storage make a return on the Galaxy Note 5 is most likely to be very disappointed.
Update: As one of our readers rightly pointed out, there is another obstacle that would make it hard for Samsung to put UFS 2.0 storage and a microSD slot on a smartphone. SD cards and the eMMC 5.0 solution used on other flagships are able to use the same memory controller (the controller is what handles data transfer and communication with things like the processor), making it easier for them to exist in the same device. UFS 2.0, on the other hand, uses a new type of memory controller, and Samsung will have to find ways to interface the new controller with the one used on SD cards to be able to make them work together, and in turn affect overall performance. It’s possible Samsung will find a solution to this in the future, but for now, it doesn’t look like a smartphone with UFS 2.0 storage will be featuring a microSD slot any time soon
I don't think we will see a SD Card slot on the Note 5. This article is a good explanation why.
I would like to see Samsung increase the storage on the Note line. Keep the same entry level 32GB and add 64 and 128GB at launch day.

Sounds like maybe SD card slot in note 5 isn't happening
Ha I imagine they will give more storage in the other models by paying more. Hopefully you will see 128GB models available from the get goI think we can go back a few months and see that I predicted no removable battery & no micro SD whilst everyone else was convinced otherwise
Samsung's profits are still struggling even after the success of the S6. They need to maximise profit. Why let other manufacturers make money selling SD Cards when they (Samsung) can make potentially an extra $100-200 per device on just bumps to internal storage.
It's just business sense. Forget controller board arguments that some are using to say they 'have to do it this way' or any other justification - the reality is Samsung's aim to secure a success whilst enhancing / maximising its profit margin. Bumps to internal storage do exactly that.
I also expect the base price to increase a little this year too, moreover in Europe than USA much like the S6.
