Yeah despite having two S6e's black & gold I'm still lusting after the emerald green that has eluded me ever since launch.
That phone.....simply gorgeous.

I had the black edge for a good while. Then I moved to the of G4, and after about ten days I switched back to the six plus....largely because I knew this note 5 or 6s plus will be my best phone ....and tmobiles deal on the iPhone is a nice thing to secure if I go the later route. Plus....my lg G4 flat out melted on my table, and as a result T-Mobile gave me an iPad of choice for the cost or data line ($10).

None the les...the emerald galaxy is the prettiest phone on the market.

From what I've seen so far with all the leaks, I think the Note 5 looks a nice phone along with the S6 Edge, however what always puts me off is the Android and Touchwiz operating software. The S pen features of the Note 4 looked good, the txt select and photo capture for university lectures would of been good, but I think I've been spoilet by the iPhone and IOS, the layout and apps just look better on IOS and it's less buggy with regular updates to the OS where as Android is so fragmented. At least this was my experience when I tried the Galaxy S4 a couple of years ago, ever since then I have been put off trying another Samsung phone. With the iPhone 6+ (the phone I currently have) it doesn't have the features of the note but it is stable, however the looks of the Note 4, the upcoming Note 5 and even the S6 and S6 Edge are appealing.

In regards to design, I find it absolutely strange that the iPhone 6 is getting so much flack...

It's not like Samsung has sported pretty much the same design on the Galaxy models for three generations, from the S3 - S5 (and the standard S6 doesn't look that much different either), or the HTC One, from M7 through M9, or the Sony Xperia, from Z through Z4, and the list could be expanded to include most - if not all - flagship smartphone models.

The iPhone has had a major redesign with the current generation.

The s4 and the current interactions are worlds apart.

Touch wise could use some refining still...but it's solid and even enjoyable.

Stock android is beautiful. If I could run stock android on a phone like the note series....there really wouldn't be much competition.

It's the current design as it stands. The six plus is large compared to similar sized phones. Can't get around that.

This is true, I have the 6 Plus it's a great phone but it is large. Let's not forget that it's Apple's first entry into the larger screen phone. It will be interesting to see how the iPhones evolve forward now. Kind of like how the Note series has evolved from plastic back to the recent rumours of no SD slot, no removeable battery and a metal design.

I just don't think Samsung phones look good, despite the obvious quality that they emanate. It's the same with BMW, heck, even Ferrari.

That camera looks so bad, and the obvious iPhone style around the phone... Once you note (no pun) that Samsung still tries to copy some Apple traits, it just makes them look cheap.

Apple for electronics, Porsche for cars. Similar principles, amazing products, companies on fire, people that still think it is about the number of cores or the horsepower...

Yes, it is large, but the design is absolutely gorgeous. And I could do with an even larger iPhone than the current one (I use the Z Ultra at the moment). And while the iPhone 6 is not as great a design as the Galaxy S6 Edge, it's still one heck of a beautiful and classy looking gadget, even with the large bezels.

I love Porsches, too. I always thought the first and second generation iPhones sported a Porsche-like look. Curvy like the 911. As for Apple's designs, I completely agree with you as well. They just make the best-looking gadgets. I'm not debating hardware, just visual appeal.

Though, I do really, really like the Samsung S6 Edge. It looks fantastic.

It was the slamming of it as midtier device that was what I was mostly calling silly tbh and the dichotomy / hypocrisy of that post and the posters one in the other thread giving out about people posting similar things about the S6.

The front bezel DOES look mid tier IMO. This is very subjective of course and what looks great to one may look terrible to another. I agree, it does go both ways and while I personally don't think the S6 looks mid tier, others might indeed think it is.

I think you might be a little thin skinned on this one. In no way did I say the iPhone was mid tier. I was referring to the big bezels. It's what you see on entry level to mid tier phones. So in that sense, I said it looked mid tier. C'mon you know this. And saying it looks mid tier in this sense, is not subjective. I do find the big bezels odd coming from Apple though. Apple usually love minimal design (as do I), but minimal is not a word I'd use to describe those bezels.

Take a look at the bezels on an entry level phone, then you'll understand my point of view. Again, wasn't a slam.

So the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ are pretty much the same size. I love how in this pic next to the iPhone, it's clearly smaller, yet has a bigger screen. The iPhone looks so damn ancient and a mid tier device next to the S6 Edge+. Hard to even think these two are in the same price range. Crazy.

Yeah we must've totally confused your post, saying the iPhone looks so ancient and a mid tier device. Smh . But u weren't downing the iPhone at all right?

Hope Samsung are expecting overall significantly less sales for their Note 5 given they will also be offering the Edge Plus.

I expect a significant amount of Phablet lovers will choose the Edge Plus and iphone 6 plus over the Note 5 especially as they charge a silly premium for the pen functions which most people don't want. Still remember the Note Tablet being the most ridiculously priced piece of Hardware in the history of smartphones and tablets

If the rumours are true then the Note 5 may not be coming to Europe at all (or at least delayed). That would obviously impact global sales figures significantly. They must expect that if that does turn out to be the plan.

Though I don't believe this particular rumour can be true, it would be a big marketing mistake if it is and contrary to the plan of upsetting iPhone 6s+ sales, it would be handing a home goal to Apple. So yeah can't see it happening - but we shall see.

The Note 5 will clearly be the worst ever selling Galaxy Note. This isnt because of it being a poor phone. In fact Note 5 looks like an excellent phone.

Just dont want to see another 'we expected more sales of the Note 5' announcement from the Samsung bosses.

They seem to be pushing the Note 5 more when they should be pushing the Edge plus more. Hope the third device that will be unveiled is an Edge Tablet.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
In regards to size, it is purely the fault of Apples home button, and the balance they have to make with the bezels. It's plain to see, when you compare the LG G3 next to the iPhone 6 Plus, both with the exact same screen sizes, you can clearly see this:

iphone-6-plus-vs-lg-g3-quick-look-aa-3-of-11.jpg

lg-g3-vs-iphone-6-plus-display-outdoor-viewing.jpg

It's why the Note series can pack a bigger screen size into the same body, if not a little smaller body than the iPhone 6 Plus.
It will be very interesting to see the new Note next to the 6 Plus to compare the size difference.

Rumors suggest they are doing just that....limiting the note roll out and marketing in favor of the edge plus.

I understand why, it's s true, immediate differentiator when trying to sake to the general public.

I hope they don't skimp on the note....its year after year the true king of android....and you often rated the best smart phone.

But as Apple has shown, it's not true specs that sale. It's marketing and features (gimmicky or not). Samsung is trying to differentiate themselves with unique hardware design and features.

I have to say, I'm really confused by Samsung's strategy with the Note (assuming any of these rumors are in fact true). While the each subsequent version of the Galaxy series hasn't lived up to the previously version's sales performance or sales expectations, the Note seems to do better every year. This change in direction makes no sense (and I'm not referring to the actual phones design as I think its their best yet). Makes me think a couple things are at play here...

I don't recall seeing any reports on Note 4 sales performance--does anyone recall seeing any? My guess is the Note 4 took a real significant hit due to the release of the 6+. First, they're now announcing the device a full month ahead of the iPhone launch, trying to distance it, allowing it to try to build it's own buzz and not get so overshadowed by the 6S+. And second, it seems they're putting much more behind the Galaxy 6 edge plus, almost saying 'Well, the 6+ sold so well without any of the stylus functionality so that must be what people care more about' and also a knee jerk reaction to their misstep in anticipating demand for the 6 edge. The flaw here, if this is the case, is assuming Note customer's have the same needs/preferences as Galaxy customers.

I think Samsung is setting themselves up for a huge mistake and risk alienating a significant group of customers by relegating the Note to second class citizen.

I agree with you.

Again, from what I understand, the s6 edge sold really well....to the point that samsung struggled to keep up with the demand. They had predicted a 4:1 sale in favor of the normal s6 (or something like that), and thus couldn't meet demand.

Maybe they are expecting the same thing with the s6 edge plus? I mean...I know the note 5 has a strong following, and maybe that is why samsung is still rolling out the note 5. Even if they only do select countries, maybe it is just the countries with a large following for the note.

It is possible that samsung believes that the iphone 6s+ opened up the phablet market for the normal everyday person. As such, maybe they believe that and the popularity of the s6 edge indicate the s6 edge + might be a real hit for them.

We will see I guess.

I still can't see it happening. If yield supply problems were an issue for the regular sized S6e you would assume same applies to the S6e+.

I just can't see them having a London unpacked event after the unveiling and say to the people in London your only getting one device of the two unveiled here today...

Maybe a delay perhaps at worst, but can't see them not releasing it (Note 5) in Europe.

We will soon find out though.

Not releasing it in Europe would be idiotic. I don't put much credence in those rumors.

The supply issue was real and reported. Samsung had to revamp factories to move production from the s6 to the s6e.

This time around, that issue should be less likely since they can prep for a higher anticipated demand.

I don't think so. Basically the S6 edge is very hard to make, and they just couldn't make them as planned, while the regular s6 was a total flop, judging by the latest few financial reports, with another huge 40% drop in net profit for Samsung Mobile, while the actual sales numbers are very close to what they were 1 year ago, in the same period. As such, the drop is all related with how poorly the S series is doing.
