That's wierd, my S7 from AT&T came in a Samsung box.

That's why I'm curious that perhaps AT&T has two different boxes... not entirely sure.

As if one from retailers such as Best Buy, Target or Sams and one from their AT&T Stores. It just doesn't make sense that all the darn carriers decided to use Samsung boxes, but AT&T goes the alternate direction as if customers prefer AT&T boxes..

With wireless charging? Really?

Come 2017, we'll see. Those specs aren't that enticing, and though it would be nice, I wouldn't bet on QC 4.0 considering the S7 didn't get 3.0. I'll probably be looking for something affordable, big, nice design and good software. We'll see what comes.

Considering I would get a 4K screen, USB Type C, QC 3.0, HDR, 2GB extra RAM, 64GB of storage base, a better camera (idk how you can really get that much better than the S7), cleaner software, Android 7.0, an Iris Scanner, a better processor, Edge features, and whatever upgrades are there.

You really can't get better from year to year to make a significant difference. So it might seem I am grasping for straws.

Lol, I see we have some Samsung Haters trying to dampen the mood here.

I'll gladly take some the cons of Note, the sheer power and versatility outweighs the bit of stutter and lag I experience in both my Samsung and Apple devices. :)
Just got mine. The bottom is my Note 7 vs Note 5. I love the size of the 7.
Congrats man! She is a beauty! :D I hate you by the way!

How is it so far? Please do let us know how it goes in terms of battery.

So what's the consensus on glass screen protectors, seeing that scratch video I think this time I will go for one. I'm hoping one comes along that blacks out the Samsung logo. What are you guys buying?

But outside of circumstances where your hands may be covered or wet, I don't see how this is a more efficient solution than the fingerprint scanner, which has my phone unlocked before I can even swipe up to activate the iris scanner. It is nice to have a solution for those previously mentioned solutions or to add a second layer of security to the secure folder section.

Most Samsung phones simce years ago can have the screen turned on with voice using "hi galaxy" (or ok Google with exposed mod)

None. Just my opinion.

While I have seen the scratch test video for the note 7 by jerryrig
,I also see very little scientific validity in worrying about a loose test done with a sample size of n=1

I'd put more credence in controlled lab data. Having said that, I really don't sweat this stuff as much as others. It's a thing. No more, no less.

Yes but cornings reference is likely not based on an edge display with a wacom digitiser between it's polymers.

Given this is a $800 device, spending $10-20 for a decent screen protector to protect your investment, especially if you are going to use the S-Pen regularly and increase the odds of a possible scratch or scratches, seems like a no-brainer ....

I've already ordered a selection of different ones and my device won't ship for another two weeks. I've spent €20 on different protectors, considering the phone cost me €800 and having a scratched screen would reduce its resale value by €100-150 it just seems like common sense to me to protect the investment even ignoring JerryRigs video.

When mine arrive I'll post feedback on which I like, which are useless .... Hopefully I have more success with them than on the S7 edge. And hopefully the Gear VR 2 won't cause an issue with them as it did with the S7e and Gear VR.

with 1 phone. of millions. And more often than not it's the coating on the glass scratching, and the coatings being applied can and does vary in quality.

meh. I liken this to covering furniture in plastic and laying plastic runners all over your carpets to 'save' them.

My grandmother did this, and she was 101 years old.

Does it protect it? Sure. Does it also take the enjoyment out of the experience (being sitting on a soft couch or swiping on smooth glass instead of a screen protector? Yep.

Lifes way too short. But to each his or her own. Put 2 screen protectors on if you like ...:D

In fairness a 101 year old the chances of seepages would make plastic on the sofa sensible ;)

I ordered the original one from Samsung (ET-FN30).

I don't normally use screen protectors (last time is used one was with the iphone 3g)

But seeing as it scratched at a level 3, I'm really considering one this time since I live near the beach. Going to have to wait until I see some reviews, I'd prefer one going all the way to the edge. Also waiting on some more scratch tests to confirm.

I just don't like screen protectors. I've never had any real issues with scratching on any of my gadgets, but I'd rather get a couple small scratches than use the protectors.
I'm fine with small scratches too, it's been a while since I've had a deep scratch, but if that scratch test is accurate I might have to get one. Deep scratches really bother me since they give off a rainbow pattern on the screen.

never used screen protectors and never will. One review won't convince me there will be any more likely to scratch than any other device

I have brought an s view cover for more protection on the front but i have got by with a case just protecting the back for a while now.

Not the Note 7 I was hoping for (arriving Monday, damn at&t) this did arrive today. So far, I'm a fan.

I love mine. I was expecting disappointment coming from the Apple Watch, but the rotating bezel navigation is brilliant. App support is my only frustration right now.

Unfortunately, I'm at work so I can't do too much. However, soon, many will have them and will post away.

That Note 7 is beautiful, makes the Note 5 look like garbage.

Yeah, in the picture it does make the 5 look bad. In person, it's not that bad.

Yeah the S2 is a good watch to have. Not much choice in apps but battery life is great and i like the always on display for notifications. fitness wise is better than the apple watch

Oh hey, Anandtech calls out the Laggy POS that is Android/Samsung - http://www.anandtech.com/show/10559/the-samsung-galaxy-note7-s820-review/11

"e Galaxy Note7 performs well in benchmarks but the closer we get to real-world testing the more apparent it is that Samsung is not really doing well in real-world benchmarks which is concerning. Obviously if Samsung continues to see rising profits they’re going to completely overlook everything written here, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see people notice relative differences in performance more and more as people get used to devices like the HTC 10 and iPhone 6s which are smooth and fast in real-world usage."

I can't wait until iPhone or HTC makes a decent front AND rear camera phone so I can sell my S7 Edge. (Can't get rid of it, it's the best of front AND rear at the moment)

If you have an iPhone and are used to a smooth experience, here's your fair warning that you are in a laggy POS experience with the Galaxies. BUT, one that has considerably better tools (Like camera). Oh well, bring on the iPhone 7!
my iphone lags at times. All phones do.

Difference is samsung phones have more power and certain things like widgets can slow a device down but generally the s7 edge is very smooth.

It doesn't surprise me an apple fan site would pick out faults in the note 7. It's almost expected

I've never used screen protectors, they're just not my thing.
And I normally don't have my phones long enough...!

I am going to get a case for it though. Someone on here posted that they stick the phone in a case when they know the chances of dropping and damaging are higher - I like this idea.

We already have official and unofficial accessories in CPW, so I will have a proper look on Saturday and see if I can get them early. We get them at cost price, so £30 cases are like £7! Bonus! :D

Screen protectors have always got on my nerves though, even really good ones that have cost quite a bit.
But as MRU points out, with the S-Pen usage there may be more marks to the screen than the usual device. So part of me is slightly torn.

Well on bright side we have two more weeks, in that period we will no doubt hear from USA customers if there is a problem with scratches. We get the benefit of foresight by their hindsight ;)

unless the tip of that s-pen is made from a metal pick I think you'll be ok.
