I wonder how the stocks will be in stores tomorrow? Because I want to preorder one to get the deals but how does that work with turning in your old device on NEXT during that 10-day period? What if I don't get the device in 10 days is what im worried about.

I'm not sure about the deal portion that you're concerned about, but if it hasn't changed when you preorder a phone or even buy a phone that's backordered for instance, you still have to trade in but it's AFTER you get the device you ordered. At least that's how it was when I traded my Note 3 to get the 6 Plus when it came out 2 years ago.

You still can. :)

With wireless charging? Really?

Maybe the S8 will be around the same price considering $500 for it would be fine based off the rumors: 4K display, one dual edge screen model, HDR capacity screen, 6GB of RAM, Quickcharge 4.0, etc.

Come 2017, we'll see. Those specs aren't that enticing, and though it would be nice, I wouldn't bet on QC 4.0 considering the S7 didn't get 3.0. I'll probably be looking for something affordable, big, nice design and good software. We'll see what comes.

yeah that's what I was thinking, do they go by the rule of waiting until you activate the device you pre-ordered and then the 10 days start. Sounds good thanks. Im still debating though but I think im going to hold off to see what the iPhone 7 is about.

Photos or it didn't happen ;) :p

Photos taken with budget phone.

From that view you wouldn't be able to tell that it's curved..think all false touch issues will be a non issue.

It really doesn't look or feel like an edge device, but you still feel the smooth edges when doing gestures to the left and right.

I tried to mimic false touches, it's something you really have to try to do. My palm can cover a whole icon to the left or right, and nothing. :)

We have to watch this one, but if anything is going to become the 'gate' scandal for the Note 7 - it likely will be the scratch resistance of its screen.

How does the S7/Note 7 scratch resistance compare to an iPhone 6 or 6s? My 6 plus has held up great for the last ~2 years. Interested in the Note but don't want to step backwards in terms of durability...

Man, it's just too hard to catch up with this thread.

Hit the nail right on the head. And it worked. The Note 7 is amazing. Just put the price lower and it will be perfect

There are two reasons why I don't use wireless charging: Speed and price. I love the speed of wired charging, it's very convenient. Even with the fast wireless charging, it still takes about 2 hours, and you have to pay a steep price for it. And once you get to the cheap wireless chargers, charging times get longer, from 3 hours upwards. Overall, I'd much rather having to fiddle with the wire if it can get me from 0-100 in under an hour.

That's what I might do actually. The price could be decent then, and the Note 8 might not be that great.
Great reasons for not choosing wireless charging. I think the issue some of us have is that some say wireless charging is useless and shouldn't even be a consideration. For me having the phone always at full charge easily negates the slightly slower charging, but I probably use my phone differently. You sound like you run the battery down then need to change it. For me when it's not in my hand it's on a wireless charger throughout the day.

Perhaps that's why @macfacts stated that he/she cannot.

I've always felt it was better to do walk-ins to get matters handled instead of going the online route... although you have to wait maybe an hour or more, but there's plenty of errands you can take then simply come back when it's time. Apple gives a status update thru messages indicating when there ready.

But I tend to get there early and get a appointment. I'm already aware it will be awhile before eventually I could be seen.. but I go in there with that expectation. Have my iPad handy since theres a Starbucks nearby... listen to some podcasts and follow up on things that I might have missed.

I plan on going in stores tomorrow to get the Note7.

You don't have to preorder to get the deals... you just have to make sure you buy one before the promo ends. I believe you can submit a receipt showing you actually purchased the device.. I know I did a promo for a family member of mine when she got a Galaxy S6 edge, I just submitted a receipt and she got a 50$ Best Buy gift card.
Yeah the att bogo ends 8/30 and the Samsung fit/memory card ends 8/28

That is amazingly fast! You must in tech/geek heaven right now! Please let us know more of your thoughts as you get acquainted with the N7 :)

Setting up now. Will keep posting as I go.

Fingerprint sensor seems faster than the S7 edge, but not so fast to the point that you can't view the lock screen.
[doublepost=1471534249][/doublepost]The Iris sensor is crazy fast. Extremely quick setup, and works very quickly in room light and complete darkness. It's cloudy where I'm at now, so I can't test it in sunlight just yet. Half of the time, my eyes weren't even aligned(I mean way off), and it still unlocked. I think it might just need to caught one iris.

I am pleasantly surprised to hear that about the iris scanner. I was it's biggest critic when it was first leaked. I thought for sure it was another useless gimmick but now it seems it works quite well and faster than expected. :)

But outside of circumstances where your hands may be covered or wet, I don't see how this is a more efficient solution than the fingerprint scanner, which has my phone unlocked before I can even swipe up to activate the iris scanner. It is nice to have a solution for those previously mentioned solutions or to add a second layer of security to the secure folder section.

Anybody order at At&T? Can you get the gear s2 deal and also get the SD card from Samsung?

I got the gear and tablet. My phone came this morning. About to activate it online and then try for the sd card from Samsung. Will report back...

But w/ the Gear s2 is there a 2 year agreement attached to the promotion?

Yes.

Can the phone be set up with all layers of security, i.e. I could use either fingerprint, iris scanner, or password/pin?

Someone kindly report how much RAM is used and free on boot up from App Manager running apps. Thanks in advance.
