S7 Edge is much more scratch resistant.
Yeah that's what I mean. The S7 Edge is much more scratch resistant so you would wonder if Corning GG are saying GG5 has the same level of scratch resistance as GG4 but also increased smash resistance, and yet clearly the video test shows the Note 7 scratch resistance is very much compromised compared even to the S5/Note 4/S6/6E/Note5/S7 & S7E then perhaps there is something else at play that has caused this compromised scratch resistance.
This is the first year the Note has gone fully edge (ignoring Note Edge which functioned differently) and the biggest difference between it and S6e/S6e+/S7e is that it has the Wacom digitiser embedded in the screen.
Perhaps with both the curved edges and the increased pressure sensitivity of the Wacom digitiser - there was some compromise that Samsung had to make, and even though they are technically using GG5, perhaps they are not using it to the same base 'reference' point as Corning GG themselves utilise ...
My biggest concern would be simply this. With how easily the screen scratched on that video - will the stylus nib cause damage also ? As a stylus user I know I have to change nibs otherwise they do ware and once worn they can cause friction and damage. Throw elements of sand or grit particles into the equation and it could indeed be problematic.
We have to watch this one, but if anything is going to become the 'gate' scandal for the Note 7 - it likely will be the scratch resistance of its screen.
Life is too short for screen protectors

The glorious Galaxy Note 7 is what happens when a company isn't afraid to go crazy
Samsung’s wild experimentation over the years is now paying off
I once said at these forums how lucky we are that Samsung and LG have the money and resources to experiment the way they do (it was around the time both were trying to beat each other to the punch with curved displays). It seems I was right. We don't have to buy everything they throw at the wall, but the few things that do stick, we gain from that.
We should all -- including iPhone users -- be thankful Samsung exists for this industry.
BTW, interesting comment from Vlad Savov in the comment section:
You have no idea how much doubt and shade I threw at Dan while we were discussing his review scores. I couldn’t believe that this phone could be that polished and that beautiful. But honestly, I have a Galaxy Note 4 and the Note 7 is almost completely unrelatable to it. How you can fit a 5.7-inch screen into a device of this size is beyond me. It’s staggering.
Putting the Note 7 next to an HTC 10 makes the 10 seem so unrefined and chunky. The 10 has edges where the Note 7 has curves. Small things adding up to a big effect. And keep in mind that I actually like the Note 4 and HTC 10 designs, there’s precious little bad about them. Samsung just did an incredible job with the 7.
I'm highly confused by the anti-wireless crowd as well. The main thing that is streamlined for me is getting in and out of my car constantly and having to fiddle with a wire every time. With wireless I just plop my phone onto the charger and it's always at 100%. But don't short sell the beauty of not having to deal with a wire, it's the little things in life like picking up your phone in the middle of the night to check your baby cam and not having to fiddle with a wire.
Share your thoughts everyone! I might get a Note 7 in Summer 2017.
There are two reasons why I don't use wireless charging: Speed and price. I love the speed of wired charging, it's very convenient. Even with the fast wireless charging, it still takes about 2 hours, and you have to pay a steep price for it. And once you get to the cheap wireless chargers, charging times get longer, from 3 hours upwards. Overall, I'd much rather having to fiddle with the wire if it can get me from 0-100 in under an hour.
Man, it's just too hard to catch up with this thread.
Hit the nail right on the head. And it worked. The Note 7 is amazing. Just put the price lower and it will be perfect

That's what I might do actually. The price could be decent then, and the Note 8 might not be that great.
I've done it twice this year for my family.
Once you arrive... they will allow you to set an appointment there, they will give you available times. But I've got same day appointments the few times I went. I even had a friend of mine that got same day appointments. So, yes you can.
It also depends on the location.
I wonder how the stocks will be in stores tomorrow? Because I want to preorder one to get the deals but how does that work with turning in your old device on NEXT during that 10-day period? What if I don't get the device in 10 days is what im worried about.
