That would be mu suggestion. Keep the new one and return the old one. Then wait to see how the recall process is going to be handled. So keep the device I'm receiving today and return the defective phone?

Call Tmobile. Don't ask someone on a forum. So keep the device I'm receiving today and return the defective phone?
Customers can visit their local T-Mobile store where they bought the device or call 611 or 1-800-937-8997So keep the device I'm receiving today and return the defective phone?
The way I've been reading it is that certain units are affected and certain units are not. However, anyone wanting to replace their unit will be able to do so through their carrier. That process should start in approximately 2 weeks.Wait so will the carriers replace the phone? Will they replace it with a "fixed" phone, and even if I have no issues currently but just want peace of mind? Why does everything associated with the US carriers have to be such a freakin mess?

I could be wrong though.
That would be my assumption as well. That would be good. I'm having other hardware issues with my Note 7 and was going to replace it anyway, so will wait for that. I'm assuming any current inventory is going back to Samsung and the carriers would offer from new and "fixed" inventory.
You are right, i called today the german samsung recall number and registrated for an exchange. They will call me next week for more details and which color i want, etc.If there is a recall, perhaps you will get a new phone and clear screen. I'm trying to find a silver lining in an otherwise unfortunate event.
This recall could cost Samsung a lot if customers decide to get something else and carriers are facilitating that. It's going to be a very expensive episode for Samsung.Just talked to someone at at&t. She told me we can exchange at any att store for any phones we want and the BOGO is still in effect. Can even wait for the iPhone 7. Who knows if this is true or not but that's what I was told. Also said that regardless of where it was bought that the exchange should be done thru AT&T so looks like we can keep target cards gonna maybe go to att tomorrow and see what's up.

That's great news. Very tempted to get the iPhone 7 but I think I'll stick to my plan of using the Note 7 until the 10th anniversary iPhone. Definitely getting an exchange though, I sleep with the iPhone charging on a table next to my head so can't take any chances.
If thats the case, then yeah i really think I'll trade it for the iPhone 7 Plus and just use my S7 as my android phone.Just talked to someone at at&t. At&t update
Samsung has notified us that they have identified a battery cell issue in certain Galaxy Note7s. They have asked all retailers, including AT&T, to stop selling the device. Because safety is our top priority, customers are strongly encouraged to exchange the Samsung Note7 for a new device. Customers with a Note7 may select a new smartphone, and may also return any Note7 accessories
At this point. I have a feeling that I Samsung releases more information than an exchange will become an option. But for right now they're just trying to cover their butts for customers who are calling in or going to the storeHmm, no mention of exchange.
Yeah I'm just going to hold onto my S7 too now at least until the S8.If thats the case, then yeah i really think I'll trade it for the iPhone 7 Plus and just use my S7 as my android phone.
Same with me. Gonna have a fire sale on some stuff I bought. Think the iPhone 7 plus is in my futureYeah I'm just going to hold onto my S7 too now at least until the S8.
Haven't made up my mind about the iPhone 7 but I'll likely give that a pass unless there is something truly wow worthy - though not convinced there will be.
I'm down around €50-60 in accessories for the Note 7, but I'll just sell those off cheap when it's finally available here and people would be looking for them. No point trying to sell them now.
I bought 3 cases with s view cover as one so will give it to my dad when he finally gets one which i imagine he will at some point.Yeah I'm just going to hold onto my S7 too now at least until the S8.

Awesome!! I will see what mine is tonightThere's a little card that came in the package with some text on it saying 'congrats on having one of the first shipped, you are 95 of 1000'
At first it was nice and a warm fuzzy feeling, now though given the reports on battery issues I'm hoping it's just a warm fuzzy feeling and not an actual fire that breaks out![]()
