So I got another text yesterday from CPW saying to power down the device and return straight away. So did this and I'm not rocking what must be THE WORST smartphone I've ever used/seen. Its a HuiWei POS. Yes its a substitute phone that many people have used but the charger that came in the box doesn't even work lol. Fortunately the Mrs' S7 Edge charger works with it.

Apparently my replacement Note 7 handset will be in store on Monday so fingers crossed that is the case.

So when will the note 7 be available to buy from carriers again in the uk?

I have a jet black 7 plus on preorder through EE but still might be a couple weeks yet and I did want the note u in the first place tbh.

The salesman that dealt with me didnt mention when handset will be in stock for general sale. Though from what he was saying about the iPhone 7, people will be very lucky to get their pre-orders this month.

Supposed to be 28th in South Korea and soon after in other markets. Early October seems a good bet. They might start doing re-release pre-orders or sell stock that's not exchanged by the end of next week.

So when you claimed earlier that the 6s was water resistant and Apple was the first at water resistance you cited YouTube as source despite Apple not claiming it as water resistant but now that the YouTube videos are against Apple you cite Apple as the source and YouTube videos are not science. You even pushed YouTube as the source when in those drop tests the 6s survived while the Samsung didn't.Double standards everywhere .Nice job

And here is more proof of this. The lens of the 7 cracked on the drop test while the 6s actually held up.I think it's pretty much confirmed it's not a 6s quality sapphire if it is one that is

Ifixit claimed and confirmed (in the same way displaymate...etc) the 6s was water resistant and there were various videos confirmed the 6s can be underwater. So it's pretty much confirmed the 6s was a baby step toward this.

There still is no "proof" as a certified mineralogist hadn't stepped up to say what the lens is or isn't made of. Seems like Youtube is only "good scientific " evidence when it "proves" your point.

We dont need a mineralogist as have you ever heard of sapphire getting scratched on a 10 feet drop or a pick which is supposed to scratch glass now scratching sapphire  For real, its as if we need a expert to prove water is wet.If its real sapphire as Apple claims why did it scratch on a 10 foot drop while the 6S didnt?Look you can hide behind technicalities as much as you want but the writing is on the wall

-Damaged by a 6 MOH pick while sapphire requires 9.The 6S survives
-Damaged by a 10 foot drop.6S survives

Its actually pretty obvious what Apple did but believe what you want to.

I actually have not heard it wasn't scratchable; so I don't know what scientific method was on youtube, but youtubers can do anything, splice anything together etc. It's the same as all other things, if you want to believe it as evidence you will, if not, not. :rolleyes:And there is no way to prove the veracity of any of it. Most ceramics can scratch synthetic sapphire; if you weren't aware..and I doubt(although I could be wrong) real sapphire is used in these applications. As you said, you can be your own mineralologist and form your own conclusion.o_O

Yeah, I am really questioning how they gonna deal with this. I travel quite a lot, and I need to know that I can keep my phone on during flights. Have pre-ordered the iPhone 7+, but I really want to go the Note route this time. Have to just wait and see, a couple of weeks before it releases here in Norway anyway, so guess more details regarding safe versions and flights will be out by then.

I love how you completely ignore the fact in all of my above posts I specifically emphasised that in 2 videos done by completely different individuals and 2 completely different testing environments nothing happened to the camera lens of the 6S.Neither a drop test nor the knife managed to do a thing to the 6s while the 7 failed both.

I think Sammy should have made a cosmetic change to the back of the phone. Added an "S" or the like. Something instantly recognizable for TSA or flight crew.

You mean how you tend ignore a lot of information in posts? Has already been addressed via comments on the "scientific" testing methods in youtube videos, especially information in the last post.

So are you going to use your phone in a lab or you know subject it to world trials? The latter which matters is something the 7 fails while the 6S succeeds just like how the 7 destroys the 6s in durability not so much as cracking the screen on a 10 foot drop while the 6S cracks on a 5 feet one

Apple calls them both sapphire so its plenty obvious the sapphire (if it is one) is a lower quality on the 7.We dont need a mineralogist when 2 different tests

Now let me ask you this.Regardless of the scientific testing BS,why did the 6S lens come out completely unscathed. There was literally a whole line across the lens of the 7 while not a thing to the 6S.

Agree, that would be the most convenient. Guess its to late now. Hope they figure out something smart so we dont have to bring papers or similar. That would be time consuming, and a lot of hassle for everyone involved.

Is the s7 a lower quality phone than the 6s? I can't vouch for the veracity of any youtube video. The one I posted is for entertainment and not indicative of real world experience and I view most of them as such; until they are "scientifically validated".

Why are you talking about the s7 vs 6s in a Note 7 thread?

Here is a Note 7 vs 6s drop test by same YouTuber as your video:

Super fail for the iPhone.

Didn't the galaxy note 7 score below the iPhone 7 in regards to a scratch test?
I believe they scored a 4.

Pretty much a given most of the youtube tests will not represent *typical* usage. The fact the s7 was crushed in one video and not in another doesn't mean your phone will suffer or won't suffer the same damage.

But given your question given your post, what should "we" be discussing?
