Is the s7 a lower quality phone than the 6s? I can't vouch for the veracity of any youtube video. The one I posted is for entertainment and not indicative of real world experience and I view most of them as such; until they are "scientifically validated".
Except Samsung did not claim S7 was sturdier than the 6S.Its got a glass back.Of course its more fragile. Now Apple stated the lens to be sapphire.Visual proof contradicts this and one of their own models to boot

So let me dare steer this disaster of a thread back on course. I got my replacement for my silver Note 7 yesterday (black one comes Monday), and the box has a black square and no green battery indicator. IMEI is going to be the only way to know your phone is good. This is in Canada.

Now on the topic of scratch resistance, I can say both my Note 7s have no protection on them at all. These are the bad ones. I used this recall as an opportunity to get some real world testing for scratch resistance. I was very careless with how I handled the phones. Anyone I put it on a desk, table, or any surface, I have it a slight slightly toss onto that surface. When I put it in my pocket, I would put it in a pocket with spare change or keys. These are things I would never do otherwise, that being said, both are totally fine. Not a single scratch on either.

My replacement will be getting cases, but no screen protectors.

Agree, that would be the most convenient. Guess its to late now. Hope they figure out something smart so we dont have to bring papers or similar. That would be time consuming, and a lot of hassle for everyone involved.

I don't know if papers would work. There has to be a quick and easy means for flight crew to clear the phone. What a crappy situation to be in for an owner.

This whole thing with the FAA is what has me considering the switch. I'm traveling twice in Oct and I would hate not to be able to use my phone during a flight.

For what issues?
No idea the guy obviously feels Apple owes him something because Samsung releases an exploding note 7.

Weren't replacements suppose to go out next weeK, also wasn't he claiming he had a note 7 that wasn't defective, now he claims to have a replacement .

Wow, you really exposed yourself for what you're real intentions are in this thread. Just look back at my posts in this thread and tell me where I said this. You need to stop being so bitter.

Wow, this thread's gone crazy.

I ended up returning my N7 a while back because I wanted to step back and watch the fallout. I'd already encountered an Uber driver who didn't want to be in the car with it and it was clear that the public perception was going to become an issue.

This FAA thing is an example of exactly what I was worried about; Regardless of whether it's an overreaction it's a massive inconvenience. At least today it's extremely unclear what it will be like to fly with a Note in a couple months. Considering the level of understanding most people have about tech I have a hard time believing airlines will be checking IMEIs at the gate.

Resale also seems like a concern, but considering the depreciation rate for Android devices I was planning to take the 50% Next swap anyway.

The N7 is an excellent phone. My only tangible complaint from my time with it is that I'm still bothered by OLED PWM, but it's not a deal breaker. And yet right now I'm still uncertain about picking up another one.

Look the only thing this changes for me is that I will have to buy a case for the iPhone 7 mandatorily rather than out of choice. So its not a game changing factor for me.But no one should deny that since both home button and the lens scratched its inferior to the 6S which did not scratch which if the youtuber was biased wouldnt happen. In addition we have Apple giving a disclaimer on the jet black scratching with just minor use which is very unApple like which lends more imprtance overall to this scratching issue.Clutching at straws like the marketing materials isnt going to change the facts

The camera and button scratch test on the 6 and 6s was done with an exacto knife only. He did not use the scratch too. On the 7 he used both the knife and scratch tool. The knife did not scratch the home button and the lens on the 7, just like what happened on the 6 and 6s.

Ok Guys i'll be picking up a note 7 when it becomes available to buy again. The camera on my 7 plus isn't anywhere near as good as the one I had on my S7 edge. I'll just have to use the 7 plus and note 7.
[doublepost=1474190588][/doublepost]Any ideas on when they will go back on sale?

October - but when in October is anyone's guess and will depend on carrier / store / region
Ok thanks. It's a good job I got more than expected for my 6s plus.

On another note when I went into carphone warehouse yesterday to sell my 6S plus they still had the note 7 on display and it says coming soon next to it.

Edit: I've just been on the carphone warehouse website and it says delivery by the 21st October. I guess that's when they expect to get stock.

awesome comparison between both phones. I agree with everything he says.

I dont agree on the size thing not being a basis to buy on. I find the Plus iPhones too big for me. Its the bezels at the top and bottom of the screen being to big I think. Not once since jumping from my iPhone 6 to the Note 7 have I thought "think is awkward".

I just need a good camera on a phone to take pics of my 4 month old son. I was hoping that the 7 plus would give me that but so far it's been disappointing. I was hoping to be able to stick to one phone but it will have to be 2. I got some beautiful shots with my S7 edge. The 7 plus has been meh so far.
