I just need a good camera on a phone to take pics of my 4 month old son. I was hoping that the 7 plus would give me that but so far it's been disappointing. I was hoping to be able to stick to one phone but it will have to be 2. I got some beautiful shots with my S7 edge. The 7 plus has been meh so far.
Even on my iPhone 6 vs the S6 Edge the S6 does better in low light than the iPhone while outdoors its a pretty close call

Is there any idea to how long it could take for the FAA to lift the ban on the Note 7?
I'm guessing difficulty could be they would need assurance all potentially dangerous N7's were replaced and of course this would include those from passengers outside of USA.

Really sucks; hopefully all this blows over sooner rather than later.

Edit: As I stated yesterday, I placed my order for the i7+ to replace my Note 7 but I'm doubting my decision. I really enjoyed the Note 7 and the i7+ isn't that much of an upgrade to the 6S+. I might cancel my order for the iP7+ and stick with the Note after all. Ugh, decisions, decisions.

I also hope that the airline ban stuff gets sorted out soon enough. I have a trip with KLM booked for February and I'd like to use my Note 7 (which I really hope I'll have by then) during the flight, so if any IMEI checkers cover also my phone, I'll be bringing a printout of the results and whatever proof of having the safe model with me. Nevertheless, I'll also bring my Nexus 5X with me just in case. It'll be slower than the Note 7, but still much better than not having any in-flight entertainment.

Galaxy note 7 sales will resume in Korea next week.

"Samsung, which may pay as much as $2 billion for the recall, said on Sunday it sold stakes in ASML Holding NV, Seagate Technology Plc, Rambus Inc. and Sharp Corp. for a total value of about 1 trillion won ($891 million). While Samsung says Galaxy Note 7 sales will resume in Korea around Sept. 28, it has yet to specify when global sales would resume."

I heard its already on sale at Sprint in the US, and that Samsung representatives have said that you can buy from Sept 21., not just replacements. If this is true, we might see Note7 earlier than expected here in Norway aswell.

yeah, my verizon guy said they were supposed to get stock on the 21st as well, but I guess we'll see.

I received my replacement Note 7 this afternoon at my Carphone Warehouse store.

Definitely not green battery icon though?

Same here in Canada, no green battery. I believe we were some of the first in the world to get the replacement phones. I read somewhere that there will be a software update by the end of the month for all Note 7 replacements. This update will give us the green battery icon. We shall see.

That's bad news if accurate (no reason to question you). This is going to be the problem with these phones moving forward: people have no means to know or trust which version anyone has.

That's a good point. Probably a software upgrade will resolve this issue.

I am having a hard time deciding whether I should return my Moto Z Play to go back to the note 7. I was having a blast with the Note 7 and its S Pen glory. But the midrange Moto Z Play is giving me on average 8 hours of screen-on time usage. Just yesterday, I actually hit 9.3 hours with it of SOT with heavy use. That's insane! My Note 7 was only giving me about 5.5 to 6 hours of SOT max. I really want to go back to the almighty N7, but I've found the true battery king in the Z Play; dilemma.

Count me in this camp also.

Although I haven't got my Plus yet. Instead I've gone for a normal 7 on contract as it's cheaper than a Plus, and intended to sell it when the Pluses were readily available and put my mounting John Lewis vouchers towards the purchase of it.
Pop my contract sim in and away I go.

However, after a couple of days with it I'm just not sure.

The Note was God tier phone. Like really really impressed me.
And the 7 camera is just not that good in my opinion.
It's much better than the previous iPhones, and low light is pretty impressive, but it doesn't really match up with the Note.

Whether the Plus is different? I don't know. But apparently it is sharper, which is all I feel the 7 is lacking right now.
It may be the size of the iPhone 7 though. I hate the 4.7 size. I do find the Plus to be a little too big, but it's more what I'm now used to so can't wait to get a device with a bigger screen again.

iOS has come on leaps and bounds in a year since I've used it though, enjoying it. Aside from notifications, which are sorely sorely lacking compared to Android.

Argh. I dunno.
