My experience on my AT&T Note 7 was that fast charging with the included charger took 1.5 hours from basically 0 to full. Third party "fast" chargers (Aukey brand) took like 2.5 hours

Ahh ok. Maybe I should've just tempered my expectation. Maybe Motorola is doing something else with their Turbo Charger technology to charge so quickly (although I thought it's just Qualcomm's Quickcharge rebranded).

Well, returned my Moto Z Play (love the battery life) hesitantly to Verizon and picked up the blue Note 7 again. I like the blue a lot and it's unique.

Is it just me or the charger that comes with the Note 7 is NOT fast charging the phone. It's taking about 1.5 hours to charge to full. My Moto Z Play only takes about 50 min or so.

I didn't pay attention last night, but I'm trying to run this down to ~ 1-2% and plug it in.. will keep an eye out (If I'm still awake lol)

Im in the same boat here. Just came hoe tonite with a 7+ (Rose Gold that is my wife's I stole it for a few days) and while there is a noticeable improvement in the camera its still boring old (but stable and seamless with other Apple products) iOS. I miss the Note. Just read that AT&T is selling them again and given that I'll be sitting out the 7+ (having the video hiss issues which is a complete deal breaker and just now starting to gain traction) I am probably in the market for a new phone again. I just really miss the Note 7.

Using my Blu HD R1 for almost a week, and my iPhone 7 plus for several days ....... when I finally got my Note 7 replacement and turned on the screen, I smiled. :)

When you get used to a display, you don't realize how good it is until you don't use it for awhile.

For me it's not just the display it's pretty much everything except for a few things the apple ecosystem provides. iOS is just so damn boring I don't really enjoy using my iPhone, it just does everything well. I loved using my Note, just took a little more tinkering and work arounds to get things done. How you like the 7+?

Got my replacement note 7 today...the new software update has stopped all the lag I had with the original and the app notifications are similar to Android nougat now...the coral blue looks amazing and is more appealing than the black one I previously had....

Also, this replacement Note 7 does run a bit warm, while the original always stayed cool.. This goes for both replacements (blue and black)

Hey man I thought you jumped on the iPhone bandwagon as well? Didn't realize you jumped back. All you guys are is a bunch of ENABLERS!!! Yeah I thought about picking up a Note 7 on the way home from work, lol.

lol.. yes I did..I'm a phone whore! but after playing with a 7+ for two days ( dad's device ) it was like.. eh.. same as my 6S+

And, I was gonna get the new Note 7 anyways, so it worked out perfect. Now, with my 6S+ and Note 7 .. I'm set for a while! :D

Damn, my little band of iPhone defectors is getting smaller and smaller.

The Note 7 really hits the spot..at least for me... I can't put it down! The new iPhone, is the same old same old wiggly icons in a new shell .. o_O

And, I kid you not, with the new update and security patch ( Sept 1 now) it's a beast.. I'm actually liking the Sammy keyboard!

So Samsung Cloud restore finally finished. Home screen, apps, and app drawer folders are 98% restored correctly. Widgets are also placed correctly, but to have to tap to enable them again and/or redo the proper settings.

The only two apps that kept my log-in credentials was Netflix and ESPN. Everything else is a start from scratch when opening.

I would say, Samsung Cloud is about 50% to having an image like backup. Still needs a lot of work, but it's great that I don't have to have to drag everything where I want them again. I would figure that the simpler and closest to the default home screen, the better restore experience you will have.

Also, you'll have to apply any icon themes back manually from the theme store.

I mostly feel the same way. But I also get bored if I can't rotate differ devices and OSs.

No complaints yet. It's not a huge difference from the 6S plus(which I sold). The speed is good, but not lighting fast over the 6S plus or the Note 7. I'm slightly disappointed at the Camera though. The duel cameras are only great at 2x optical zoom on the fly, which I really like. An update for more duel camera features are suppose to come soon. The static force touch button is excellent, but it's not something that will make you say "I can't go back to a real button".

I'm personally more excited about trying the Apple watch for the first time, but I can't my hands on the 42mm anywhere yet. And also waiting to for the Gear Manager to officially be available for iOS which will be very soon.

Two things I've notice after the update .......

1) I agree with others, it does seem noticeable faster now.

2) The notification pull down ..... notifications seems to be slightly separate from the pull down. And I don't remember seeing the Device status notification before, is that new?

TMobile peeps... is you network ( voice and or data ) currently down ? its 1:10 am mst and I have no service on any of my 4 lines...

.

Netflix uses Google's own auto-sign in feature. It signed you in automatically because of your Google account credentials detected at launch of the app, and so didn't actually have anything to do with Samsung cloud.

Not sure about ESPN as I don't use that app.

Well, I'm assuming the 404 MB update couldn't be just for an icon color change ;)

Something has been altered and the device is smoother, imo.
Yeah, in using the device today it really felt a bit smoother than before. Didn't know the update was that big, it happened when i wasn't looking.

USB-c doesn't support quick charge 2.0, the Moto-z uses a proprietary turbo-charge when using the Moto charger.

Strange that they wont rerelease the Note7 in Europe before October 21, according to rumors. It's gonna be a long wait.

Mine got pretty warm while setting everything up, but since has been pretty cool but it does feel a little warmer than my original. I wonder if maybe the faulty battery was throttling the original devices and why the lag was so inconsistent?

Yeah that's what I was suggesting could be a possibility if we get more reports of smoother experience from replacement users. If the consensus seems to appear it is smoother perhaps there is some correlation between it (performance, battery life & lag) and the bad batteries. It would explain why some would be more affected than others I guess.

We will never really know so it's just an hypothesis ...

Clearly they have prioritised replacing units in regions it had officially launched and getting it back into carriers / retail where it was prior. Europe was an easy delay in that sense as few users got them early and so easier to hold back relaunch till after the other regions are back to normal.

Whilst frustrating, in a way it at least gives us time to see if all the chinks have been ironed out as it was a couple of weeks before they began appearing. If nothing materialises of great consequence you can have an extra reassurance or confidence when buying your own.

Yep, other areas will once again do the final QC :)

Still, the wait with most likely still over a month to go feels like

I had auto download OS updates off and set to manual. I noticed a notification from pull down menu and it was an update with a countdown to restart/update. I shutdown fast and waited a min to restart. I don't want no green icon.
