Cheers Fernandez, I am in London.

There's a large phone recycling company here offering me £340 (~440USD at current market rates) which I think is pretty competitive. Gazelle on the other hand offered me $220 (~£169)!!

I have an iphone 5S work phone which I despise using so the quicker the Note 7 can come back on sale, the better.

If it's an insurance company replacement then it will be a new device. Even if it's not it will be in pristine as new condition.

Even if they send you a new device, when you sell it will technically be second hand and so you won't be recouping anything like the initial purchase cost.

You would be looking at anything around £340 resale value privately selling.

CEX UK will pay you only £214-240
Only just saw this. Like I said in my previous post, sellphones.co.uk are offering £340 which seems very competitive. Others are doing similar (-£20-£30) so they might be legit.

I work full time so £300 odd quid for a new Note 7 sounds like a fun opportunity.

Yeah that's a good price. Like I said CEX are offering nothing like that, and that £340 is as much as you'd get selling privately without the hassle ..

Hope it goes well and you can get a Note 7.

European note 7 sales however won't be commencing normally until Late November according to Samsung now, so you may have a little wait in the interim.

That's sounds like a very good price for a recycling company, I would go that route since you probably won't get much more selling it privately.

Ok I want to preface this with I really REALLY REALLY tried to like my iPhone 7+. It's not a bad phone by any stretch, no it's quite nice. But I just found that it slowed me down way too much both personal and business. I didn't note any significant changes in how iOS was 3 years ago versus today, certainly none that made my life easier or streamlined my use.

Sooooo.... I was going to get something on swappa then realized I was just being cheap. I popped into a Verizon store and bought one outright. Made sure they didn't open it so it wouldn't apply the PHE update, thus letting me root!! Wow first rooted phone in a couple of years. The first thing that struck me was how much nicer the form factor is on the Note. The ip7+ looks like a freakin dinosaur next to it.

I'm still hesitant on a few things and am going to keep them both for a few days to compare. Mainly the Note 7 seemed to have worse reception and the wifi handoff was awful. I am going to be testing to see if that was just my experience with the first phone, or if it's endemic to all Note 7's. Of course I'll keep a close eye on lag as well.

I think the handoff hasn't been perfected--at least in my experience. I have the 6S+ and Note 7 and I would get drops when it tried handing off with both devices. Maybe it's a carrier issue.

The Note seems a better fit and there is no need to justify it. You just have to go with what feels right for you. Nothing is going to be perfect so you just have to weigh up your own preferences and pros / cons and go with whichever tips the scales for you.

Folks on the fora (you know the ones) will argue forever about the better device when ultimately there is no definitive better, there is only what's better for the individual. I know that's shock revelation there on this sub-fora ;)

Keep us posted with your impressions of the N7 revisitation :). Be interested to hear if you have any of the issues you had previously as generally those with replacements seem to think they are performing better the previous.

Good luck with the note 7.
Could you take a comparison pic of both devices together, I asked another poster but they never posted it.

After reading everyone's thoughts on the 7+, I decided to cancel. Just left the T-Mobile store with my new Note 7 (replacement) and I'm going to stick with my iPhone 6S+, for now.
The 7 isn't really an upgrade over the 6S+ it's more of a side grade (def an upgrade from anything below 6S/6S+) and with iOS 10 on your 6S+ you probably wouldn't have got any real tangible sense of 'upgrading' and therefore benefit. It's the reason I've decided to pass myself. Enjoy your new Note 7 and don't forget to post your impressions :)

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sams...ave-issues-with-overheating-batteries_id85781

Sorry if this has been posted before. Seems people are having issues with overheating batteries and bad battery life.

Well the note 7 does have a 3500 mah battery and very little volume to dissipate heat ( no bezels ). It's looking more and more like a design flaw.

The s7 has a notorious overheating problem with its 3,000 mah or 3,600 mah battery depending on the model.

I had a duo version of the s7 edge that overheated, very similar design to the the s6 and note 7.

This was my experience as well. Didn't fee at all like an upgrade persay just a few slight incremental improvements. Great phone but no need to upgrade from a 6S+ imo

4 days in with the new N7 and no overheating issues with either of them ( blue and black )

Device is faster ( compared to the initial release ) and battery is also better with around 6 hrs SOT.

Sold the 6S+ since it was almost out of warranty and I wouldn't be using it anyway for a while.

Very happy with this new N7!! Love the S-Pen and just saw a video with some new (to me) features..will post a link to it shortly

Wow, thanks for the video. That video really shows how there is nothing like a Note. Always found it odd when people would look at the current Galaxy S phone or any other current flagship phone as to whether the next Note was an upgrade. The Note line just stands on its own.

I just finished rooting for those who are brave enough, it was quite easy but involved a lot of steps. Just installed Xposed, wow I haven't used that in years and am really looking forward to it, as well as system wide adblocking. If you want to root do NOT apply the PHE update which gives you the green battery, if you have the green battery then no root for you at the moment.

I gotta say one of the most relieving moments in my smartphone history was to actually be able to browse a file system again.

My Note hasn't even got warm.
Hopefully it stays that way.
The issue seems to be more wishful thinking around here imo...
Just did a search for iPhone 7 overheating and slap me ragged, what did I find? You guessed it, cases of iPhone 7's over heating, quick everybody panic!

And this has to do with the note 7 recall and exploding battery debacle how? Some random Internet posts claiming this or that.

Funny, browsing a file system on a phone for me is somewhere down around playing Pokémon :)
Both entertaining but essentially not very useful

Yeah, same year. I'm absolutely not diminishing other's need to be able to access the file systems and will on rare occasions need to access it on my Android phones (i.e. ringtones)--I just find I generally have no need to, prefer to have everything available on all my devices via cloud syncing.

File systems are great.
Being able to move stuff to external storage is great.
Knowing where my pdf files are stored isn't a bad thing.
Moving gigabytes of photos and videos you want to is great too.
Being able to make a copy of a file is great too.

Imagine a laptop/desktop with no file system...

Seems like some deflections or hyperbole.

Come on man, please don't ruin this thread also. Can you guys PM each other, or just go out back and fisticuffs or something? I really don't want to go through another 200 pages of bickering about nothing.

Well we both use our phones differently then, I find the file system immensely useful. But I just wanted to thank you for your constructive comment which probably helped out millions of users, bravo. =)

Until you hit a dead end. I spent some time trying to figure out how to get custom audiobooks into certain apps on my iPhone. After much research the easiest way was to download iTunes, then download my audiobooks from OneDrive to my local PC. Then I had to load the audiobooks into iTunes, then I had to change their properties so iTunes would see them as audiobooks. Then I had to sync my PC to my iPhone. On an Android I would simply go into my OneDrive app and it would let me open it with any compatible app. Works nicely with an external SD card as well, oh wait... Also for the record the icloud app is horrible, but that's what everyone is told to use.

I can't pretend I understand the "I see no need for it because I don't use it" comments, but I guess these are forums after all.
