I placed it online and it was sent to my house. I got it through AT&T since we don't have a apple store within 200 miles.
Whoops I meant did you place a Note 7 order online yesterday and then they refused to give it to you when you went to the store to pick it up? Or did u just walk into the store yesterday and try to buy one? Seems like they are back to selling them on AT&T website today (with in store pickup avaialable). Not sure if that was available yesterday because I've been checking everyday.

Again, my opinion is no advocacy for their omission or removal from mobile OS, nor diminishing its value for many, just commenting that I have built a workflow that doesn't require it. Your specific need exemplifies where having access to a file system is clearly a benefit.

FWIW in regards to your specific issue--I previously uploaded a handful of audiobooks to Google Play Music which allowed me to stream/download for offline listening on any device. Would that have worked?
I didnt mean to be testy with you, I was just frustrated with iTunes. To be required to install that worthless outdated crap on my PC just irked me. I think the closest to what you describe is putting my audiobooks in icloud, but that didn't work for my issue which was that specific apps wouldn't see them. It also wasn't streaming as I had to download the files and take up space. It was just a very convoluted process.

Oh, no I haven't tried to place one online. I tried to take my phone back to the store and swap it for a Note 7, but they said they would take the iPhone back for a $45 return fee, but they couldn't give me a note because those were for people who needed to replace only.

You mean much how on this sub fora if anyone posts a criticism of anything android and specifically Samsung, instead of discussing that criticism on its own merit/worth, it is immediately met with a slagging of Apple despite any relevance or specifically the lack of.

As bad as the zealous Samsung haters can be, the same also applies oppositely with the zealous Apple haters.

Those in glass houses ...

I guess my point is, if I did the exact thing in the iPhone thread under the guise of "having a discussion," it wouldn't be accepted as just joining the thread for a discussion. And I'd totally get that. Imagine I join a thread where new users of the iPhone 7 are sharing their experience, and all I do is point to links where there are confirmed reports of hissing, creaking, poor call quality, and no service issues. Then I leave the thread, then comeback with more links. No intention of getting the phone or sharing my experience. Just dropping links in the thread to "confirmed reports" of various issues. What do you think those users would think? I hardly think they'd appreciate it, let alone them think I'm there just to "have a discussion." I wouldn't bother derailing such a thread because it would just be bs. Whatever issues the iPhone 7 is having, I'm sure the users and Apple will deal with it. No need for me to go in the thread and keep posting the same shlt over and over again.

Gotcha makes sense. When I check now there's a footnote saying all stock is for exchanges so I wonder if my order somehow slipped through. Still gonna go and make a case that I returned the Note 7 and was told I could rebuy as soon as they were available again since I didn't want to swap for a different device since I had my 6S+.

No need for me to go in the thread and keep posting the same shlt over and over again.

But you often fall into the trap and do in your responses to them. You repeat the same often anti-apple nonsense albeit in a converse position to them.

You DO have an option of how to deal with them, and the most appropriate response is to simply ignore, let it slide and fall of deaf ears. Much like how most of us regulars deal with a certain "po7ster" who does go into apple threads and spouts the same that nonsense as he does in here. We know what posters like that are going to post as trait, annoying and predictable as it is, but it is better to just ignore and not encourage, even if we would love to just say "shut up spouting nonsense". We have to fight that urge to do so.

We can control the flow of discussion by how we choose to respond or not respond.

If you don't think the poster is making any valid point or is just trolling for reaction, just let it die. The regulars here know the nonsense posts. But by engaging, confronting, and immediately throwing Apple guff into a response you prolong and actually encourage more of the derailing and it goes on for an age before it subsides (usually after mod intervention).

So that's what essentially my point is, you have to think before you post if it's an immediate gut response, "is this worth responding to?", or "Will this just encourage more of the posts you are not interested in?"...

At the end of the day we're not responsible for what others post, but what we post and how we respond is our choosing.

Anyway enough of the seriousness , let's get thread back OT :)

Welp I might be back in the Note 7 gang. Checked att.com this morning and was able to order a device online for store pickup so we'll see if the order goes thru. Takin the iPhone 7+ back later today so hopefully walk out with the Note

So I took my note 7 back when the battery fiasco occurred and wasn't that happy with it or Samsung or Verizon. I've since had the iPhone 7+ and it wasn't much of an upgrade from the 6+ so I just said for the money I'm going back to something different. The replacement Note 7 does seem faster and less buggy than my first shot.

Is that a touchwiz feature or a different launcher?

Well my online order for store pickup was cancelled citing out of stock so no Note 7 for me today. Bleh

OHHHHH I love root, I've missed you so much. So far haven't done much yet, I revamped the status bar to have iPhone like signal bars which I find much clearer and easier to read. I've installed Adaway for system wide ad blocking. I've disabled the stupid warning when volume is too loud. I can now watch youtube in the background or when screen is off/locked, and have no more ads in youtube. Another nice module is xprivacy which lets you very finely tune your privacy settings and what apps have access to. I'm having a blast so far, forgot how fun this stuff is.

Are you on T-Mobile? If so, can you share the link to root?

I won't keep it because now everyone knows it's an issue and people won't buy it. Resale is going to be hurt on these phones because of it.
i don't think that's true people who really want the note7 are just going to wait until they can get one. im in that same boat yea i could have gotten the new ip7 on the spot. because they didn't or couldn't sell me the note7 they had in stock due them holding them for current note7 users, so i will wait for what i personally think is an overall better phone.

Anyone have an ip7+ and a note 7 who can see how their reception is compared? I've been extensively testing them both today and must say the Note 7 is really having some issues. Call reception seems decent, but still drops out at certain areas of my home. Both phones have similar dbm readings with the iPhone being slightly worse, but the iPhone drops no calls while the Note 7 drops one occasionally. What I'm noticing more is a large different in data speeds, separate from call coverage. 1xrtt has decent dbm numbers for call reception, but LTE is very hit or miss on the Note 7, often it has no network coverage at all where the iPhone has very weak, but solid coverage. download speeds are about half on the Note 7 when it connects, when it doesn't it takes it a few minutes to reconnect.

I was curious and did some google searches and it seems there are a decent amount of people complaining about the data reception and not just call reception in general. I'm very involved in this because I dropped ATT for Verizon because they gave me just that tiny little bit of reception that I needed.

If there is something more scientific I can do someone let me know as I have both phones this week and will have to make a final decision which one to keep.

A lot of variables can affect dropped calls. Try to force the use of a lower frequency to see if it makes a difference so force band 13 700MHz LTE vs band 4 1700MHz XLTE and test. Then, disable HD voice to switch to CDMA 1x voice and test. Probably better to just leave HD voice disabled since there's no seamless handoff between LTE and 3G calls.

https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/hd-voice-for-android-faqs/
When I'm using HD Voice, what can I do to avoid dropped calls if I'm in a weak 4G LTE coverage area?
If you're in an area with a weak 4G LTE signal, you may want to consider temporarily turning off the VoLTE Call setting on your phone to avoid dropped calls.

If you get the subtleties embedded in the post, you will understand.
What subtleties?I am not of the type to speak through "code words" .State things as they are.I do get carried away at times',yes, but I don't troll. In fact I would do pretty bad at trolling as I am a very impatient person

I have both. No issues with either. The ip7+ seems to always show 3 bars or less indoors, but no issues noticed. I'm on T-mobile.
