Well as others have pointed out 3 hours SOT at full brightness is pretty good to be honest. Then frankly if all one points out is negative things from a review.....everyone else assumes that is what they have to say about it. Some here have been very critical of Samsung for a long time. I agree that it does get tiresome......some that do not want to own a Samsung phone...have no desire to own a Note 7 only post here to point out negative things. Not saying that is you per se :)

Can't even pick up a galaxy note 7 device to compare it my iPhone 7 plus. Sales haven't restarted in the U.K.

Wow at all the note "7 doesn't have to be at full brightness." I use all my devices At full brightness. And apparently so does the reviewer.
3 hours sot is weak.

As others here have pointed out 3 hours SOT is pretty great at full brightness! The Note 7 gets pretty darn bright!
the Note 7 gets upto 1050 nits while the iphone 7 gets 705 nits. that is quite a difference.

DisplayMate points out that the iPhone 7 has an average peak of 602 nits when set to manual maximum brightness, but can rise to 705 nits with automatic brightness enabled. Only Samsung's Galaxy Note 7, which reached over 1,000 nits in DisplayMate's tests, consistently beat the iPhone 7's peak brightness.

DisplayMate: Galaxy Note7's display has record high max brightness of nearly 1,050 nits

I never use my device at full, I leave it about 30% to %50 or on auto
There is no need for max brightness with a screen as bright as the Note 7 tbh....

I get around 5 hrs on full brightness. Gaming and watch Streaming or downloaded Video. But for some reason, web browsing drains more battery.

Yes that is peak brightness when in direct sunlight. And that will ravage the note 7 battery.

In typical day to day usage majority of use case scenario will be indoors.

But indoors the note 7 at full brightness is around 639 nits in adaptive mode or 602 Nits when using cinema mode, that's the same dcip3 standard the iPhone 7 plus utilises.
However that is when 1% of the screen is white.
If it's at 100% white screen the galaxy note 7 is measured at 410 nits.

Great but that is not what we were discussing. It was battery drain at max brightness and the reviewer MBKHD using his at full brightness and getting only 3 hours SOT. Don't know exactly what you're getting at with all this? Then others here have posted real use cases of people that OWN the Note 7 getting 5 hours SOT at full brightness.

He did say there was considerable lag at times, The mono speaker was mediocre, and battery life wasn't up to par.
He tries to make concessions whenever he can, that he was a power user and like the display at full brightness which gave him a 3 hour sot; water resistance was the reason the speaker were terrible; while the lag was considerable it only happened occasionally "when waking up the phone"

He also mentioned the battery exploding problem with the note 7.

He did like the camera the display and grace ux. That's pretty much the same as the s7 edge without the os refinements, display is just like the note 5, curved slightly.

To be more accurate, he mentioned experiencing lag only when he woke the phone up at times for just a few seconds. That's it. Not while once he was in use of the phone. In fact he said it was a beast of a work horse that was super snappy, and "overall performance was always on point as you would expect from high end specs... "
And of course calling it the best display and camera in any phone.

We were discussing Mbkhd getting 3 sot.
One other poster posted he got 5 hours sot at full brightness, but was less when he was browsing.

Web browsing indoors at full brightness, users will average between 410 nits and 550 nits, that's iPhone 6s bright.

So yeah I believe mkbhd use case scenario was accurate will mirror my own.

That would fit under occasional.

Good for him.

I really think they tweaked TW after the recall, my N7 runs smoothly and you guys know how much I complained on my first one. The only time I notice lag is when I first start it up, then it takes several minutes before it's ready to go and stuff will lag.

So....wait you have a Note 7? I know they are not available for sale in the UK right now. Do you ever plan on getting a Note 7?

Anyone know if it's possible to remove the dot indicators on Touchwiz which indicate homescreen pages? Seems like a lot of wasted space. I could have sworn I didn't have them on my previous Note 7's. I know Nova would work, and I'm sure there is an xposed module or something, but I wanted to see if there was an easy way.

It most definitely would, but I assumed you wanted to be helpful with your participation in the discussion. So actually being fully honest to describe when that "occasional" lag was experienced would definitely made a difference for readers of this thread that may be interested in the phone. That is, if you were here to actually add constructively to the thread.

I'm wondering if it's a software change or perhaps the performance issue was down to the battery itself ? It seems too strange correlation for it to be merely co-incidence. Hope the same applies to the Exynos variants. Sadly have a long wait yet here before I know :(

The difference is night and day for me between my first Note 7 and the new exchanged Note 7. The TMO 400MB software update has made a world of difference. I get occasional miniscule lag but nothing really to speak of. Battery life has been awesome I am getting a consistant 6 hours SOT and sometimes when working from home on WiFi all day 6.5 to 7 SOT.
It really is a like new device for me.

I agree. At least he admits there is lag, some posters such as your self claim that to be false.

Have you had a look on XDA to see if there is an xposed mod for it. I don't think there is any other way under normal circumstances.

It might have been the battery. But i know on T-Mobile they had a 400MB software update that has made a world of difference between mu first N7 and my replacement N7.

I don't think spinedoc77 installed the update on his though (verizon) and others have reported smoother performance too on canadian handsets. Doesn't make a difference either way I suppose, better is better for whatever reason :)
