No he doesn't, he says he gets occasional lag. Is it possible to not ruin our thread again. Carte Blanche you are right and the rest of the forum is wrong, I'll even mail you a certificate if we can just continue discussing our phone in peace.

So the reviewer gets lag and it's ruining your thread.

You would think the constant comparisons to the iPhone 7 Plus would do that. I'm actually interested in seeing what post-recall Notes are like, instead I'm still reading posts from folks that need validation for their purchase by trashing another device

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
You seem to exaggerate a lot.

Looks pretty much the same to me. With the iPhone 7 plus being a hair taller.

Doesn't really seem to be that big of a difference in display area either. Compared to to the iPhone 7+.
the note 7 extra extra .3mm seems to translate into the status bar at the top. Not much else.

I'm not going to apologise for my opinions, and as you don't own a a Note 7 I'll trust the opinions of those who do and who also own an iPhone 7, even the markings you put on the photo clearly show a clear difference.

The iPhone 7 is a poor quality device. The 6S is a lot better.

Since you said it first I disagree with this, as I played with a jet black one. It's sleeker looking!and nothing "cheap" about it , although like my 6s would get a case. Seems like the note 7 though is a poor quality device, the photos don't show anything except the iconic iPhone look.

I agree with the poster, the size difference is substantial. Especially when you have both of them, with one in each hand. Certainly this is subjective. Even the screen difference is nice. Even in those pics I can see a big difference in size, but once again it's most apparent when holding both of them. It's also not just height, but the N7 is narrower and lighter. Have you had a chance to physically hold both of them at the same time?

iPhone is 4.7mm taller
iPhone is 4 mm wider
iPhone is 19g heavier
Note 7 is 0.6 mm thicker

I don't know about you, but that's pretty substantial. Oh BTW a human hair is .04 to .25mm.

No, you're ruining everyone else's thread. Note that. I completely agree with the video, the N7 does lag occasionally, as does my 7+, neither affect my ability to use the phone. In my opinion the lag is MUCH less of an issue than the size.

I've owned both. No idea what you mean by "poor quality device". iPhone 7 Plus feels sleek yet substantial in the hand. I have a matte black, and owned Note 7 black. Form factor on the Note was better but the feel of it wasn't. Material felt somewhat greasy to the touch whereas the 7 Plus feels just right. Definitely prefer the feel and look of the matte black 7 Plus to the 6S too.

Maybe? I was hoping maybe Sammy tweaked the software a bit.

I agree, the iPhone has a very high quality feel to it and is very sleek, it's a beautiful phone. In my opinion it looks cheap when you turn it on and see the huge bezels all around, but once again my opinion. The metal of the iPhone does feel nicer, but functionally it's heavier and you lose wireless charging. A matte skin protector evens out the feel for me though, I'm not brave enough to use them naked.

If it was that simple it would not be a problem in the first place.

Neither do you, either the note 7 or the iPhone 7 plus.
I never stated they didn't show a difference, just didn't show as much of a difference as you clearly want people to believe.

Pictures don't lie.

Doesn't look much different. But your right the iPhone 7 + is wider, but that's because of the display isn't curved, so you can use more of the screen, oh and it's a hair taller than the note 7.

Again from the pictures. It looks as though the only afforded difference between the 5.7 inch screen and a 5.5 inch screen is the status bar.

So a negligible difference. Well from the pictures at least.

The iPhone is in fact slimmer than the note 7 as well.

You saw the video and your note 7 has occasional lag.
Move on.

Actually someone on reddit calculated screen to body ratio (which I believe is the discussion here):

Nexus 5: ~70.8%

Nexus 6: ~74.1%

Nexus 5X: ~70.2%

Nexus 6P: ~71.4%

Galaxy S7: ~72.1%

Galaxy S7 Edge: ~76.1%

Galaxy Note 7: ~78.0%

iPhone 7: ~65.6%

iPhone 7 Plus: ~67.7%

And the rumored Pixels will be 71.1% and 72.3% based on the leaks.

I always go naked! HATE cases! ;)

I think tech folks/community are too bezel-obsessed. The lack of bezels on the SG7E drove me crazy because between the curved edges on the screen and capacitive buttons, there was virtually nowhere to hold that phone without creating a false touch. Note 7 does a much better job of reducing false touches at least. iPhone 7 Plus is heavier but the weight adds to the device's substantive feel. Sometimes when a phone is too light it feels cheap to me.

As far as wireless charging, I think it's neat but just not a big deal to me. I prefer being able to use my phone while its charging, and I don't find quickly plugging in a cord that much of a hassle. I would ding Apple on the loss of the headphone jack in terms of using your phone while it's charging but the whole industry is going to adopt this so no use yelling into a hurricane.

No the iPhone is actually, physically wider, not because of the curved display on the N7. But I agree, I prefer the flat design on the 7+ and feel the curved edges on the N7 are wasted, I just wish the 7+'s side bezels were more narrow. A hair is 0.4 to .25mm versus the 4.7mm difference in height, but we are splitting hairs now...:) But once again "negligible" is in the eye of the beholder. If you've actually held both of them at the same time and feel it's negligible I can't argue with your opinion. But I've held both and to me it's substantial. Not a deal breaker, other shortcomings on the 7+ added up to my decision not to use it, but the size alone I could have dealt with. I did see the video and never denied the Note 7 lags occasionally, so does my 7+, neither affect the usability.

To put in perspective .... The Note 7 has a bigger display and it's much easier to use one handed compared to the iPhone 7+. That's an unquestionable design win.

I use skins, not cases, I also HATE cases, lol. But if you go fully naked on the back I applaud you, I'd love to do that. I trust the material not to scratch and what not, but it will get swirls and fine scratches. High end phone buyers will usually scrutinize when you sell with a magnifying glass. Plus I like the matteskin, it makes it more grippy and solves the issue of oil from your fingers getting on the phone.

I love small bezels, if not for the benefit of having a phone better used in one hand. There is a marked difference in the ability to use my N7 one handed versus the 7+. Once again what matters is how you use your phone, but I use mine one handed almost always and it helps out a ton. Maybe if Apple incorporated a decent one handed screen shrink like Samsung does. Apple's only shrinks down the top, so you still have to reach over horizontally, where Samsung reduces both height and width of the screen.

BTW the Note 7 has exceeded my expectations in terms of false touches, I think I have less false touches on the N7 than on my Note 5.

Wireless charging, once again just our personal opinions but I love it. No not a deal breaker, but it's nice to just lift up the phone instead of fitzing around with a cable. I have the Apple dock for my 7+ and it takes a bit of futzing to get the phone in, definitely difficult to do one handed in the middle of the night. While the headphone jack doesn't bother me in the least, I say good riddance. But just another example our opinions differ, which is totally ok.
[doublepost=1475071209][/doublepost]I repeat, it's very very difficult to get a feel for the size differences from a picture. You really need to physically have them side by side in front of you.

No body ever brought up screen to body ratio, its like BMi not much use out of it.

The nexus 6 was a brick of a phone compared to my iPhone 6 Plus at time which was 7.1 mm thin.

Yeah, we're different. I use reachability all the time and find it superior to Sammy's screen shrink. With Reachability, the buttons stay the same size, it just moves down to your finger vs smaller touch targets. Then again I didn't have the Note 7 for too long so maybe I would have gotten used to it.

(Hey, we need to be careful - we're having an adult conversation about different devices. I think we're supposed to call each other stupid for liking or disliking wireless charging or something. ;) )

The wireless Samsung fast charging stand, charges my Note 7 faster than the iPhone 7+ charges with the cord.

I also have a Samsung non-fast charging pad, that charges the Note 7 at basically at the same rate as charging the iPhone 7+ with the cord.

Wireless charging has surpassed the gimmick or niche stage. Apple needs to implement it for the iPhone asap.

I see bezel stated about 10 times so far. Screen to body ratio is bezels.
