I believe EVLeaks confirmed it was 64GB base storageWow, the rumors mills totally disappointed this round:
SD82x -> SD820
5.8 screen -> 5.7
Nougat -> MM
6GB -> 4GB
4K battery -> 3.5
Only thing I am not clear on yet is storage size and type. That could be an improvement. And of course the first gen tech of the iris scanner.
But there was the unexpected twist that obviously the Note is now just the S7 Edge with an S-pen. Makes sense in hindsight since they pushed up the release and converged on the numbering.
I guess I still don't understand how an iris scanner is more useful than a fingerprint reader. If you only have one free hand, you're still holding the phone and using the FP scanner means the phone is unlocked before you ever look at it. If both your hands are unavailable, how exactly are you going to navigate once it's open? And that video shows the user having to swipe away the notifications?
Seriously, give me a useful, realistic scenario where that's a better way to unlock the phone.
"OK Google..."

Can anyone read Korean?
I imagine that this isn't true. Having a bigger screen size and a smaller battery doesn't add up. Unless battery consumption is remarkably less than the S7E

I think the black one looks the best so far.
Holding the Note 5 one handed so your thumb rests against the fp reader is precarious at best. It's nice to have an option where I don't fear dropping my phone. Trust me, when you have a kid in your other arm you are far from stable. Or maybe you are on a subway one handed and want something more secure without fear of dropping your phone. Lots of scenarios.

Great, you unlocked your phone. How are you going to use it with those gloves on or with those dirty hands? And how did you manage to swipe away the lock screen notifications?
Don't you still have to use a hand to swipe before unlocking? And then you still have to use a hand to use the phone? Or is just the placement of the FP scanner specifically? More reason I like it in the back I guess.
Really? You're serious with those questions? Think a little harder rather than trying to look for ways to discredit it.
I think it's going to be a gimmick but a fun one. I will give it googley eyes. And the stink eye when it fails because I'm wearing glasses. If it fails. I hope it works well.
I just tried unlocking with one hand only using the fingerprint scanner and let's just say I'm not too keen on dropping my phone, it was klutzy at best.
If the fingerprint scanner was embedded in the centre of the screen, maybe, but it's not.
Also, an iris scanner isnt reliant on one hand only, so no matter which hand I'm holding my phone, in, I can unlock it.
For me, any scenario with one handed use and a working iris scanner would trump a fingerprint scanner, except if the phone is lying down, and maybe even then.
I'm all for an iris scanner and I bet we'll see them on most large flagships if it works well on the Note.
There's my scenario, repeated, tell me I'm wrong.

They do have gloves with linings in the fingers so you can use a smartphone you know, but you can't use fingerprint with those gloves.
I don't, but I'm using Good Lock which for some reason eliminates this. But yeah I agree, for my scenario the back is better.

For the record personally I think it's a gimmick, but a gimmick which might prove useful occasionally. But I'd rather have had them work on something more useful, maybe the dual camera or something.
Very serious. And good job not offering any counterpoints of your own but rather rely on the others to do the work for you.
Good point...how's it going to work through the glare of regular eye glasses. And certainly won't be able to wear sunglasses if you want to use it.
Samsung only allows you to use a single finger/thumb to unlock? That's an entirely different flaw. I can load 5 different fingerprints into the iPhone so multiple fingers on either hand. As far as it being klutzy or awkward...fair enough but it's pointed out ad naseum on these forums how much smaller the Note is vs. the 6/6s Plus models yet I have no issue holding the iPhone and unlocking it and I'm of average height with average sized hands. But of course, we all come in different shapes and sizes so this could certainly be an issue. Just find it funny that the first complaint of the Note being 'unwieldy' is here.
Sure..see me comment above. But according to that video, you still have to swipe away lockscreen notification, something far more precarious an action one handed vs. resting a thumb on the sensor. Also, do recent Samsung phones wake when move or lifted? If not, still have to either press the power button or that very same fingerprint sensor. If they do wake with motion, this point is obviously moot.
My point as well.
Fair point. Just better not have sunglasses on as well.
So it's helpful when wearing gloves but those must either be super thin (like latex) or have special capacitive sensors, and if unlocking the phone using the fingerprint sensor with one hand is precarious though it seems it still requires additional navigation using that same hand. Sound like if these are regular issues for someone, they're in luck. If you could simply pick up your phone held in any manner, have it automatically wake on it's own, scans your iris and open, all quickly, then yes, I'll agree it's a great alternative. Otherwise, I don't see how it's a more efficient method. And if this video is accurate to the process, it appears clunky and inefficient.
Have they been hanging out with Tim Cook? They're starting to get too Appley. And I am trying to take a break from Appleyness!Must be a reason for why it's smaller if true
The question is if Tmobile will be doing the BOGO during the pre-orders, on launch day, or after? Otherwise, not worth it.Great to be on Tmobile if true: http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sams...obile-next-week-already-live-in-Dubai_id83452
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 pre-orders to open at T-Mobile next week, already live in Dubai?
Oh Jiminy Christmas! I'm not using that damned thing. I not only wear glasses for nearsightedness, but when I do want to use my smart devices for more than a few minutes, I take my glasses off (can't see up close with them on) and bring the device up closer to my eyes. So I have a bad habit of putting my phone up to my face. And I've always got little kids around. I'm a great-aunt and with a huge extended family. I'm not risking frying my tots' eyeballs or mine. I hope it can be completely deactivated in settings.I don't, but I'm using Good Lock which for some reason eliminates this. But yeah I agree, for my scenario the back is better.

Does Samsung still have the option to use their smartphones with gloves? I know there was a setting in Samsung phones starting with the S4 where you could use with any gloves.
I've just had a look on my husbands S6 edge plus and couldn't find it in the settings. Maybe Samsung have removed the feature.I forgot about that, I'm not even sure it's in my note 5. It used to drive me nuts on my Note 4 because I had it turned on, but didn't know the feature even existed and the phone would constantly turn on inside my pocket.
I suspect it's just the lighting and the fact that the Note 7 is wider and more boxy corners making it look squarer and less curved, but i would wager the actual edges are exactly the same as the S7 edge depth wise.Ok once again my mind could be playing tricks on me.....do the curves look less pronounced on the note vs the s7 edge? More of a square design?
