Yeah it's how I ended up getting a brand new gear VR with postage for €50 ... the VR2 has the disadvantage of being only compatible with Note 7 so it's potential audience on resale is less, meaning it's value will be less.
how you found the VR?

Online om our classifieds - Adverts.ie or do you mean how did I find the VR ? In which case I found it good, but really only used it for Netflix.
Yeah meant your experience with it

Will be getting it free so might as well use it ha.

But then again, what does the new VR offer to non-Note 7 users if they have the first gen one? My problem with VR is that it makes your phone so damn hot and burns too much battery. Though, I do enjoy watching sports on mine, especially live ones.

Wrong, it's also compatible with all the other samsung phones, it has a adapter included.

I gotta give Samsung full credit for its generous offerings of adapters with its adoption of USB C on the Note 7 and new VR. Something other companies just take as an opportunity to squeeze a few extra dollars out of you by selling the adapter separately.

Honestly initially I downloaded a load of free stuff to try it out and a couple of the premium games. But after about a week the only app I used was the Netflix app. It's not perfect, often the video has a lot of fun compression, especially in media that is very dark. Honestly if it wasn't dirt cheap or free way of trying VR I wouldn't pay for the premium to use it as the novelty wore off quick enough. Also forget screen protectors / skin as the connector is very tight and pushes against them lifting them. It was also the only time my S7E got extremely hot.

Yeah indeed. Very hot, almost alarmingly so.

Eh. Been using my S7 Edge last couple of days. Canceled my Note order. Same phone, and the stylus has never been a big deal to me. No need to upgrade. I'll wait to see what Nexus has up its sleeve.

Owned every iPhone but I pre-order the Note 7. It's just too damn beautiful to pass up. Really going to miss iMessage and FaceTime but I'm bored with iOS and the iPhone 7 seems like another repeat.

You can patch the hole by using What's App for video chat and instant messaging.

I sold my Gear VR on swappa for $40, but I only paid $60 for it as an open box item at BB. I'm going to wait as I hope they have some Samsung Pay promos like they did with the Note 5 last year.

All of my friends and family are on iPhones so I don't see them downloading another app just to talk to me but we'll see haha

If that's the case, you're going to hate using sms and could be the cause of you going back to iOS.

What sucks is that iMessage/FaceTime spoils users. I finally got friends to start messaging me on whatsapp just to fill that gap. It also makes it easier when switching between iOS and Android.

Friends, depends on how receptive to change they are. Family would be more likely to make the change because they would probably want to talk to you somehow?

Probably not much, except a slightly wider viewing angle, more comfort, and looks better. Also future proof, as we have seen the last of micro usb on Samsung flagships.

Really not worth it at the moment for non Note 7 users. Better to wait to until you get a Samsung USB device, then the Gear VR will be much cheaper.

I already pre-order mines, should get to me on the 19th or 20th.

I'm gonna keep mines and use it for Google VR. It's better than cardboard.

Why does anyone need to change? I text daily with both iOS and android users on a variety of platforms and it works fine. not seeing the issue here.

I have plenty to of friends and family who use various Android and iPhone and have never heard people complain. They are all able to text and send each other media. Im not doubting it is an issue but just speaking from my experience that I havent heard it be an issue from people know

Speaking for myself, if someone is a person I consider a friend or a family member I want to contact, I will find a way regardless of phone choice and I think anyone would
