I'm planning on using the official Samsung leather case. I have it with my S7 Edge and as nice as it looks, it's going to look even better with the all black Note7.

I'm a sucker for leather. But how was the protection? There isn't really a lip for drops right? Also, I didn't see anyway to buy those yet.

Maybe this will sound weird but does the black color look that good in real life like it looks on vids? :D Unfortunately i can't see them before pre-ordering and it's a tough choice between blue and black.

It looks amazing in real life. Ive seen several.

I like wireless charging, especially now that it's almost as fast as wired charging. But I still feel Palm did it best with the magnetic latch that positioned and held the phone in the proper place. It's been like 7 years now, when will someone else offer this?

Yeah I agree, which is why I took apart my car wireless charger and put magnets in it, and took off my Note 5 back and put in some tin paper. So now it magnetically connects and stays. No arms on the charger, just a little rectangular slab.

I feel like if I pre-ordered right now through AT&T, Im sure I wont get it till next week or so. Also if you have two lines on AT&T next, could you swap sims??

They may have stock of them at that point, I'd be surprised if they didn't. One of the 2 BOGO lines has to be a new one so you lose one number. What I did was upgrade one line, and made a new line, when my phones get here I'll cancel my old line, but it means I lost my number. Not a big deal as I use google voice for almost everyone.
[doublepost=1471464858][/doublepost]Anyone else see refurb s7 edge at BB for $479, not bad at all for something with a full factory warranty and no commitment. Makes the decision harder for some of you.

I plan on going "no case" with the Note 7, but I might do some form of a clear skin.

I've gone "no case" with my prior iPhones... started with the iPhone 5s. I just prefer the feel of the device... and my thought process is that Apple/Samsung put a lot of effort into making the device... such a shame to put a case on it.

I'm pretty careful when it comes to taking care of it... I've had my drops prior to the iPhone 5s to understand the cost of having them fixed.

Here's my philosophy on this which I'll be carrying over from the iPhone. I agree. The device is way to beautiful and nice to hold to ruin it with a case all of the time. The key for me though is "all of the time". I've established what I consider to be safe zones and danger zones. In the safe zone I'm using the phone buck naked in all of its glory. Danger zone I throw on a cheap yet protective TPU case such as the spigen rugged armor. Danger zones include the gym, any time I'm over concrete, when I'm dealing with my 4 month old etc etc. Safe zones include at my desk, in bed, on the couch etc etc. the key is to get a case that is super simple to pop on and off so that it doesn't become a hassle.

Anybody who owns an S6, S7/E, or a Note 7 and is looking for a car mount, get this. It's a magnet, and since the back of these Samsung flagships are glass and have magnets already (for wireless charging), your device will just magnetize to this car mount with zero effort. No need to place that sticker on the back of your device.

It's a SUPER convenient car mount. And it feels great to use. I literally just place my S7E on and it sticks. Takes bumps and everything really well. And when I'm done and ready to get out of my car, I literally just grab my S7E off the mount.

Passengers in the car are always perplexed by how it stays (my S7E is completely naked). Magnets!

Does anyone know (UK customers), if Vodafone direct are getting the device to you 3 days early?
I know CPW are, but for Voda direct I'm not sure.
Their website at the checkout screen says Sept 2nd so I don't knooooow!

Yep! I bet it doesn't sound so revolutionary on these forums but my friends and family think I'm crazy for doing this. They never see or feel their phone. Just plastic.
Yeah, my family is the same. I'm always the one that has to clean their devices out, they pick up so much crud inside those cases that can actually scratch or scuff the phones.

Same here. My S7E is 100% naked. I throw it into this Etsy pouch for extra protection when needed (also gym, etc.).

Yep, I understand the reasoning behind it. Simply saying, it's not the best thing for the consumer.

True. But you gotta take it from their view point as well.

Apple is in the business of making as much money as possible and iPhones are their cash cow... they have Apple Stores to facilitate and tons of services on top surrounding the iPhone. When something happens to your iPhone you can easily take it up to Apple to get it serviced, Samsung doesn't have that ability. Granted there is Best Buy and other retailers or even carriers that offer warranty services.

But the reason we all pay for Apple premium prices is to get the support other companies cannot match. I had a Nexus 6P and I had a minor dent up top.. that simply bothered me. I was looking at ways to contact Google or Huawei to see what they can do about it. And I came up empty.

Shocked Google didn't replace it. It came with a dent? Or the dent happened from ownership?

Either way, sorry to hear.

Bah...the gym ain't no safe zone! I abuse my note 5 in the gym and it's unscathed. While I'm serious, I'm just playing devil's advocate as well. But this time around I have already ordered a skinomi skin for the back of my N7 just to be safe. The Note 5 had an easily removable back and a new one cost about $18, but with the water proofing on the N7 I'm not so sure the back can be easily removed.

Unfortunately, It was me.

But I just wanted to see what they could do about it, I've been so accustomed to Apple and the way they handle things. I was curious seeing what was their process.

I had checked out Nexus forums and their were plenty of people complained if damages occurred by accident... then there was nothing Huawei/Google could do. I know I read that if you had bought Google warranty up front then you were safe.

I had picked up mine from Craigslist off a good deal I couldn't pass up. About a few days into it.. I was cutting the yard. I had some jogging pants that had short pockets, (clearly I shouldn't had put the phone there) but fell out while fiddling with the lawn mower grass bag.

Would Apple replace a phone because it had a dent? I would think they would make you use the ADH insurance, or make you pay for repairs. If Apple did replace something like that I highly doubt it would be the norm. Honestly I think Apple's customer service is overrated, nothing you couldn't readily get at the carrier, at least for phones.

I'm not confused. It's rather simple actually: Apple hasn't done it yet.

Agree with all. Not having to deal with the wire is a lovely convenience.

The arguments from the anti-wireless charging crowds was that, well, the wireless charger itself has a wire, so it's not truly wireless (Apple said this themselves, too, BTW). Which is the dumbest argument. You're never fiddling around with the wire that plugs into the wireless charger like you're fiddling around with a wire that you plug into your phone. Why should it matter if there's a wire connected to the wireless charger? You never have to interact with that wire! Let's see Apple come up with a charger that doesn't need to be plugged into an outlet.

Another argument was that if you want to travel with your wireless charger, you would have to bring it all with you. Well, then just bring the regular ol' wall plug instead for trips (as one normally would have to do if they didn't own a wireless charger to begin with!).

I am quite literal when I say, "People simply won't appreciate -insert feature- until Apple does it."

BTW, very much looking forward to contactless charging one day. If it can one day work like WiFi, that'll be great.

This. Arguing about the wireless charger itself having a wire is dumb indeed. Yes, it does have a wire, but unlike the wire of a regular charger, it can be tucked/routed to stay out of the way. I'd love to reconnect my wireless car charger that's been unused since my Nexus 5 days as I could once again route the charger wire neatly behind the dash or at least fasten it securely in place where it won't bother with anything I do while driving. It would be a huge improvement from the current Lightning cord that gets tangled around the gear stick (I'm driving a 6-speed manual so there's lots of shifting to do before hitting the travel speed) pretty much all the time, not to mention cleaning up my "nightstand" that's actually an overhead shelf. It would be much nicer to once again just reach for my phone to mute the alarm without having to worry about the charger cord falling on my face.

It's just my luck that Samsung releases their "Screw everything else, I must have this thing right now" phone during the exact year when my gadget budget is severely lower than normally :p With my regular budget I would've probably ordered one already. Still, the device is such enticing that I'm still actively figuring out how to get one :)

Three are so I assume Vodafone will be doing so likewise.

What's cool is you can go further than hiding the wire. You can buy a desk (or make one), for example, that has a wireless charger built UNDER the top surface. So to the eye there is no wire, no charger, you simply place the phone on the desk in the right area. That's very neat stuff IMO. Maybe not particularly practical, but still neat.

My point being there is a place you can go to. And carriers charge you for insurance monthly... It's been years since I've gone that route.

Sweet. I already have a magnetic windshield mount and a metal plate stuck to the back of my iPhone 6s. I was wondering what I'd do when I do indeed get the Note 7.
