Fair
Do you know what sour grapes are? So...to be fair....you have no objections of all the posts that were in the HTC thread about all the executives that were leaving HTC? To my knowledge you took offense to those articles. That is what led you to post the very long full articles here on the S4 thread.
So no...i have no objections...post whatever you want anywhere....but don't pretend it was for any other reason that what it is......
But like I said about the glass house.........you might not like the outcome......
Fair is being treated the same as you treat others.....that is only fair.....

Those articles were posted were in a new thread, with an element of personal 'glee' / gloating and attack. There was no rebuttal or thought about the news stories - just a rant at HTC and how all their products were crap and how anyone who nought them was a fool.

I never took offence, but I rebuked the poster because there was no attempt at discussion it was a straight out - your all screwed kind of post.

My post above contains the news, but with no element of 'samsung is trash' style posting or resentment, in fact I went on to say that I think the markets expectations were probably too high, but maybe Samsung played a part in that expectation by prevaricating a little.

I have defended many attacks on Samsung posts here too when people were giving out about it being plastic and such or cheap.

In fact please find one post where I have attacked the S4 or said it was rubbish. If my HTC One had been refunded rather than just replaced as I originally asked Vodafone to do, I would still actually be using an S4 now. I may have issues with Touchwiz OS, but the device and Samsung, no. I also have two Samsung 46 & 50" 3DTV's in my home, a Samsung blu-ray player and a Samsung washing maching & dishwasher. But you know - I must hate samsung continuously given them money and putting their products in my home...

end of....

I have never said you attack Samsung.....never.....you just relish posting negative news about Samsung then feit indifference......
Just the fact that ANYONE would take so much time to post the FULL articles speaks for itself as far having an agenda. Most people would have just posted links.....but you chose to post the FULL articles. That is ok....but don't then try to pretend that it was anything different than what it was....we are all grown ups...we can handle it....
You seem to have a little sour grapes or regret about your decision.....you always say something like I am not knocking the S4...then post something negative about Samsung. Like you did here...c'mon...it was deliberate...you know it and all the people read all this back and forth know it too....

What you perceive as motive and what a persons motive/s are, are not necessarily one in the same.

End of...

Very...true...but the culmination is....
The fact that you took the time to post 5 full articles says a lot for motives....i mean who does that when links are easier to do? So you took the time to look up 5 articles...copy and paste them with links into a thread about a phone you do not own...well enough said about motive and intentions....

Ok let me explain my thought process on the article.

cmd + a and cmd + v is simple for anyone whether its an article or link.

Also just because you don't like seeing the article quoted, doesnt mean others don't. One size doesn't fit all. Had I thought that someone would get all bothered over the fact that someone would quote an article and post the link too, then I would have taken the time to shorten it, as contrary of your assumption I didn't actually spend a great deal of time - it was a quick cut and paste.

I already explained was reading my RSS feeds and the reuters article appeared. I read it and then wondered if this was more reported than just one article. Often when 1 article reports something and it's not collaborated then I just see it as hearsay, and it wouldn't be worth reporting. The fact that numerous outlets carried the story - meant there was some merit / truth behind it and therefore worthy of sharing in the Alternatives forum.

So then ... Where do I post such thing, in the existing S4 thread or a new one. Well the news is interesting but its not worth a new thread I think to myself, so I'll just post in the S4 big thread.

The reason I quoted the entire article was simply that it was just as quick to cut and paste and press the quote button on top. That's it. No other reason other than that.

Yes I had a jibe at the start as a bit of ;) saying I wont be all dramatic and call it the death of Samsung given that was the what had happened in other threads, because as interesting as the news is I didn't think it was anything like that.

Further more to make my motive clear, I even went on to explain my interpretation of the article and that I thought market expectations were probably 'too high' and this was maybe an inevitable outcome, (lower stock prices) and maybe Samsung didn't aid itself very well with the bombast it put behind the S4 of how many units it will sell.

I also then went on to say that it looks like the reason the stock price fell over analysts worries was because they feared samsung was eating up its own market with other S4 variants (especially the mini).

That was it. I never once mentioned HTC or any other manufacturer other than the little jibe about being dramatic, because I actually wasn't being so.

You were the one who brought HTC into the picture not me ? If were going to play all junior phsychology 101 in here, what does that say about you ?

I just think that it's hilarious that whenever something negative is posted about the One in its thread, such as all the news and stuff, MR starts getting REALLY defensive and calls BS on the sources, etc. Especially with all the recent firings and such.

He even had the audacity to compare HTC to Apple, which is just downright ridiculous.

He can't have it both ways. That's just pathetic.

he also claimed 4.2.2 would be out by the end of May (when everyone was calling HTC out about it.) Is it not the end of May yet? :)

1) I said the article was sensationlisticly written. It was. That if they had read Engadget's take on the same news there was more information that gave it a different slant compared to the quoted article.

It was why I actually quoted a few different sources in regards to the Reuters article so that it wasn't just one articles perspective.

2) The comparison to Apple was not a direct comparison. I was not calling HTC, Apple. I was said that there was a common history, that there once was a company who was on the brink of collapse if things didnt turn around for them after a number of failed products, and lack of innovation. That it took them to look at the company internally, with Jobs back on board there was mass exodus of firings and people leaving, they got rid of all the executives and re-focussed themselves on the future of the company. That was Apple.

I was saying HTC are at that dark moment right now, but they do have the 'chance' to turn it around - like Apple did. I did not say they are Apple, only that there was a lot of naysayers about Apple at the time before they changed their fortunes. People who too predicted their end and yet things changed around. That HTC too has a chance of changing its fortunes, given its current success with the One. I don't know how hard that is for you to understand such a simple similarly.

3) Because it was reported on Elevate and other sources that the expectation is it would be rolling out in may, however it hasn't. It's new time estimate is now Mid-June according to sources both on Elevate & XDA and HTC's own Twitter feed.

as others are pointing out there is a pattern of behavior....you wear your alliance on your sleeve. Not a bad thing most of the time.....but be genuine and up front about and don't deny doing it......
Yes copy and paste works very well for everyone.....but then again the mere fact that you went to 5 different websites to gain negative information about the Galaxy S4 then post the ENTIRE articles in a thread about a phone that you do not own speaks to an agenda.........
At least don't act indifferent.....we get it......

I dunno, somewhere in West Texas
Well for a self proclaimed former Samsung hater, I must say that the S4 has been an excellent device thus far. Granted it has only been a few days but I haven't seen any of the lag issues being reported and I have yet to root & ROM this bad boy (which I assumed I'd be doing immediately). Only frustrations so far is nor only having to deal with Samsung's bloatware but Sprint's as well.

There are also magnets. I know this b.c I had a few n4s at the same time and one fell off the orb after a few minutes every time. I contacted Google and they confirmed that was why.

The s4 probably stays better naturally b.c it does not have a slick glass back.

There is a ring on the Orb that is made of a sticky material, there are no magnets. I know this because I HAVE one. I am looking right at it. The Nexus 4 is held up by the sticky ring in the center. The sticky ring works great with the glass back of the Nexus 4, if you keep both the ring and the phone clean. The Orb gets dusty just sitting there on a desk or nightstand. That dust will negatively affect the stickiness of the ring.

What you said made no sense. Your saying that the Nexus 4 doesn't stay on there well because the Orb has "magnets" and the Nexus 4 doesn't? The Orb was designed specifically for the Nexus 4, and only the Nexus 4. The GS4 doesn't have magnets, so with your theory it shouldn't work at all. However, because there are no magnets in the Orb that hold the phone, it's just a sticky material, any phone with a smooth back would work. It is just like this: http://www.amazon.com/Clingo-Universal-Podium-iPhone-Devices/dp/B003JTHN4K/ref=pd_sim_cps_1

In addition to the sticky rings there are magnets In both the phone and orb. I had a nexus phone RMA becuae the magnets were not strong enough. The sticky rings only help.
Here is proof someone shows. Google told me this too.

The ring is sticky, of course it could hold a paperclip, lol. I can hold a CD upside down with it as well.

Regardless, we're getting off topic here and I'm not going to drag on this pointless debate. Believe what you want to believe.

I'm just telling you what Google confirmed. I had two nexus phones at the same time and used the same orb. One would stay and one slid off after about 3 minutes every time. They told me about the magnets. There are also tear downs online confirming it.

Was on XDA and found there is now an official Paranoid Android ROM (3.57, HALO included) for S4 for AT&T and Canada. Since the S3 here never had an official one, i am very excited to see it.

Has anyone been using it on their S4s?

Does anyone have any video demos of the supposed lag that i keep hearing about the S4? The youtube video reviews dont seem to show any lag when i watch them. I was thinking of switching to either this, or the HTC one and i keep hearing ppl saying that i should wait till the HTC one comes on Verizon. The lag can't be that bad, can it?

I do not have any lag on my S4......
The reason you can't find any videos of lag is because it might not exist. Some might have had issues early on but that is not the norm....
But as with all products some will have issues and some will not. But for the most part the vast majority do not have any lag at all....

I think the world lag is over used. The issues on the S4 is really more like a stutter. It stutters when transitioning from screen to screen or App to app.

I may just wait for the htc one. The s4 will still be around in a month or two. I dunno. It just seems like every time i go to by the s4, i get that voice in my head that says, this may not be the smartest thing to do. Keep your Iphone 5. And i back out, and won't buy it.

The S4 is shockingly one-handed-use friendly. For a 5" screen, it's ridiculously comfortable and light to use in one hand. It's oddly more wieldly than the HTC One that is 4.7".

I don't know. The IOS 7 announcement was very meh to me. It is like they took a holo/go launcher theme. And added some google now type touches to the new IOS. And wala! I am saying that because that S4 or HTC One looks a lot more tempting now that I know what I would get out of Apple. This is also assuming that the iphone 5s is just an incremental upgrade also. Seems like I can get IOS 7 type stuff now with jelly bean running on an S4 or HTC one.
