Very frustrated with overall lack of polish of the apps and the inconsistencies of my alerts/notifications.

I just now realized I've missed five SMS messages today because, even though I've got FB Messenger set to alert me with a notification when a new message arrives (I'm now using it as my default SMS app), I got no notification. Nothing.

I only noticed because I did get a notification for my most recent message and happened to see I had 5 others waiting to be read from earlier. WTF?

NILS *is* great. However, when I enable it - it screws with my Gallery. When reviewing photos and videos, the camera roll does not disappear from the bottom of the screen. Not even when tapping the screen. Really ticks me off. Any way around this?!

Anybody know why maps and google services appear in my apps management as running? is that why battery can drop fast if apps are running?

What do you guys see as good battery life then? do you judge it purely on overall battery or screen time too?

Did I just spot the Google Edition S4?

Interesting video, also proves there's nothing wrong with plastic phones as long they are put together well. There's a distinction between materials and build quality.

Of course you have to factor in screen on time since it's the biggest drain.

Everyone should check out Floating Notifications in the Play store. Kinds like Facebook chat heads for all apps.

Looked like it to me...I hope it comes in black and not just white...as with the HTC

I found this post over at xda and it really does improve battery performance. I did this about an hour and a half ago and I'm sitting at 94% with my normal heavy usage.

Note - you must be rooted

"had terrible battery life barely made it 9 hours

after little research i get more than 24 hours

Make sure phone is rooted with CWm or TWRP
download battery calibration app by nema (it's the first battery calibration app that pops up after searching) it free from market

1. Turn phone off full charge, When you see 100% remove charger plug it back in wait another minute until it says 100% charge
2. Do not turn the phone on, remove battery for 2 minutes yes minimum 2 minutes
3. insert battery do not turn the phone on go straight into recovery via holding - Volume up/home/power button simultaneously
4. wipe cache and dalvik twice
5.reboot phone plug charger wait until 100%
5. Keep charger plugged in and start the battery calibration app calibrate battery

DONE ;)

you will see huge difference not saying you will double the battery life but believe me you will notice big difference

Thanks"

nice....i get about 30 hours battery on normal (for me) use.....I have never done what you posted.....

That's fantastic, my battery unfortunately always takes a nose dive. I work out in the field and I'm usually in a poor reception area so it's constantly searching for a signal.
Have you tried turning off the data/cell services when you are so remote that you have no signal? It might help......

How much screen on time with that 30 hours battery life?

Does it make a difference if I'm constantly changing between 3 batteries?
