Yep, surprisingly easy. :)

I wonder if anyone knows, does flashing an official rom on Odin edit/modify the counter ?

(meaning having to root, and then use Triangle away, then unroot to remove traces of flashing)....

If it's an official update, no it shouldn't. But you might want to ask on xda to be certain.

One thing I've noticed this past week in Shenzhen, China is that these people LOVE Samsung... Everyone seems to be using some sort of Galaxy device and the Note is especially popular with the women.

I find this very interesting.

And if it increases, just use "Triangle Away" from Chainfire, can be found in the Playstore.

Yeah I did that already after flashing the GE Rom before sending the phone back to Samsung for repair...

Thing with Triangle away is that you must root first, then triangle away, then unroot - so it actually adds 3 steps not just one...

Very true. I have also traveled to China on business and have witnessed the same popularity as well. Then upon returning to the USA with an enhanced curiosity as to what smartphones the ladies are using I see a similar growing trend here. At LAX Airport I noticed quite a few Galaxy Notes being used. Women just slip them in their purse.

I just rooted a friends S4 and was going to install the Google Edition ROM, but it was ME7, so there isn't a boot loader that works.

I gotta say, I really dislike Samsung. They have no clue how to write software. So much lag/animation stutter. It's so jarring and unpolished. The color scheme of Touch Wiz is horrendous. The large screen is very poorly utilized. I can barely see any more of a mobile site on a 5" S4 vs a 4" iP5.

Don't even get me started on PenTile, signal strength or a speaker they can be silenced by a couch...ugh.

I like Android, but Samsung sucks, big time. I can't wait for the HTC One to hit Verizon....or Motorola to magically discover an AMOLED shortage and announce 1080 LCD screens in the DROID MAXX.

I'd honestly keep the iPhone, but no data on voice calls is really frustrating...so is apps not updating unless they're open.

I'm sorry, I think I read that wrong. Did you really just list PenTile as a reason you dislike the Galaxy S4?

I can respect that you don't like this device but complaining about PenTile here is outrageous.
Yes. It's grainy, dim and blue. Hold it next to a HTC One.

It's also not my only complaint. It in itself would not prevent me from buying the phone unless there was an identical device without it, of course.

This is really laughable.
No matter how hard I try, can't see pixels on my S4, but can see them on the S3 or iPhone if I try.

Has anyone here in the US with a GS4 received the update that allows you to store some of your apps on an SD card yet?

Yeah women probably prefer it since it's a huge screen and they can slip it in their purse. Men on the other hand putting it in a pocket is probably a little more difficult.

I'd agree with that as I know quite a few Chinese people who all have Samsung Galaxy or Note in some form.

I seem to buck the trend by having an iPhone 5 :D

I have observed this too......if you think asbout it makes sense. Women have the perfect place to fit larger devices. They carry their purses and the larger phones and peurses would seem to be a perfect fit.
Personally for me the 5 inch S4 is perfect.

Has anyone else flashed the Google Edition Rom 4.3 onto their device and what are your findings ?

I've flashed it today and everything is working - however my battery life is pretty crummy. Getting from 100% - 10% with about 2hours of screen on time.

I'll give it another 24 hours - but if battery life is getting hit this bad I will have to go back to touchwiz as much as I hate it.

I found the battery drain on the 4.3 version of GE to be battery draining. And it ran constantly warm.

Go to the 4.2.2 GE ROM. Battery Life is great on it.
