From the it168 website, screen review and Pentile arrangement:

By vernier caliper measurements, we know that the Samsung Galaxy S4 equipped with a 4.99-inch 1920 * 1080 resolution screen, the Theoretically screen pixel density PPI reached 440, more than the level of the retina screen. However, due to the atypical Pentile arrangement, makes us doubt the clarity of this screen. Ears, seeing is believing. Remake of the screen to take a look at how the specific situation:

▲ Samsung Galaxy S4 screen-definition close-up
Close-up of the same icon, we can see that the Samsung Galaxy S4 clarity is significantly better than the Samsung Galaxy S3 Samsung Galaxy Note, but inferior to 5 inch 1080P screen Sony Xperia Z. However, through the author's eye view, has no pixel grainy. Samsung Galaxy S4 screen has reached the retinal level.

▲ Samsung Galaxy S4 screen shows a close-up details
Close-up detail, we can see that the upgrade to the 1080P screen, compared to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Galaxy S3 to display more content, such as the mother's chest skin, zebra eyes. Proofs of the above, we will be able to see that.

4 screen glass scratch resistance, the film is necessary?
Samsung Galaxy S3 start using Corning Gorilla glass as the protective layer of the screen. Not surprisingly, then Samsung Galaxy S4 protection glass still is Corning Gorilla generation. Degree of scratch resistance screen close-up look at the Samsung Galaxy S4 is how:

▲ Samsung Galaxy S4 screen scratch resistance test
Close-up of the screen, we can see the screen of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and no visible scratches, and graphic design. The Samsung Galaxy S3 screen after a period of time can be called a small Baikal, and S3 curved flat, enhanced feel while also increasing the difficulty of the film. All in all, the Corning Museum of Glass is not a panacea, and film become all necessary work phone.
Edit Comment: the screen, the Samsung Galaxy S4 5-inch 1080P resolution screen color gamut, color reproduction, the clarity of the screen are the best of the mobile phone screen, and even can be said that the leading phone screen. The lack of side that escape is still not Pentile the clutches of the other curved screen like the Samsung Galaxy S3 as little regret.

I didn't realize Samsung kept the dimensions of the phone almost exactly the same (smaller actually) while increasing the screen size. That's pretty amazing. Gives me hope that the Note III won't be too much bigger as well.

Bezel looks much thinner on the S4.

This is incredible. Almost everything (battery, camera, display) was improved, yet still the device is thinner and smaller! And that brilliant end-to-end display...

You know part of this "let down" is all the bs hype and build up sites like the Verge puke out. People get all worked up they lose site between fact and rumor and then are let down. But that let down is not Samsungs doing it is done to themselves. The S4 is a fine upgrade from the S3 and if priced the same how could we ask for more? Buyers are getting a heck if a lot more device for the same money and yet some feel let down??? Ha! Spoiled brats is say.

People will never be satisfied. Just one or two new features? "Not enough!" A boatload of new features? "All gimmicks!"

Engadget said:
Quadrant ran just fine, though, giving us a score of 8,892 -- a result that falls far below that of the One and Optimus G Pro (both packing Snapdragon 600), but falls in line with the Droid DNA and One X+.

Not great results in quadrant so far.

and yet

Which is a lot better...

I'm wondering if the difference is down to Exynos v Qualcomm ???? There has to be some reason for the discrepancies.

Actually spotted it the better result is from the Snapdragon version. Under the results in Antutu it says 1890 MHz (x4)

So there you go. Quadrant = 8,000+ for the Exynos 11,000+ for the Snapdragon 600 variant.

________

Yes the US gets the Snapdragon 600 version. international is the Exynos 5.

http://blog.laptopmag.com/samsung-galaxy-s-4-benchmarked-serious-power-dim-display

here will be two versions of the Galaxy S 4, an international model powered by Samsung’s octa-core Exynos processor and a U.S. version sporting a 1.9-GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor. Following the Samsung event, we managed to get some hands-on time with a U.S. version of the S 4 and test it using the AnTuTu Benchmark to see just how powerful Samsung’s new halo phone really is.

So actually the US could be getting the better deal here if the benchmarks are anything to go by.

Samsung is just as guilty as they were posting the teaser videos trying to build up excitement.

I'd say I was underwhelmed with what Samsung released. Its a solid phone to be sure, but its a evolutionary step, not revolutionary.

I mean we heard some out of the world rumors like eye scrolling, there's no way with stuff like this can the actual device live up to expectation.

Wonder those who are moaning about this will say when apple brings out the 5S with just a better camera and faster processor? Likely hype it up in imagine..

My expectations of the 5s are rather low given Apple's track record. The S4 is a solid update, but the hype got out of hand. I still can be tempted to drop my iPhone 5 for the S4 but I want to review the HTC One as well.

With all these features crammed into this phone, I'm surprised they remembered put in the "phone" part, lol.

This went to the top of my list of what phone I'll be upgrading to this Fall.

Still it lags when pulling the notification center... guess that amount of cores doesn't beat the fluidity of an iPhone

An overlooked feature is you can use it with gloves on. Most everyone will benefit from this.

I'm thinking too with the snapdragon it'll allow svdo on CDMA carriers like sprint. The sg3 us version allowed this while the note 2 did not.

If they follow the new design cues and increased screen size without making the footprint bigger for the Note 3, that will be pretty much my dream phone.

Oh, and looking forward to air view/gesture scrolling too. I don't know how many times I've been in the kitchen with greasy hands unable to scroll through the recipe on my iPhone :D

As a resident of Texas, I can say I will probably NOT benefit from the whole "using with gloves on" feature....;)

The s view cover is very gimmicky. The view should stay on the the whole time. You could just press the power button to see info on your lock screen or just flip the cover.

All the s features that where introduce are very gimmicky and not selling me on the phone. The only thing that seems worthwhile is the fitness features. But predictably you have to buy a whole bunch of accessories to make if fully work.
