use chromes auto translate feature to translate to english from russish..
looks like the gs4 camera quality destroys the competition!

Well, i dont know if it destroys the competition but it takes good pictures. One thing i will say is whoever is taking those pictures isnt very good themselves. Many of those pics are all different sizes and it doesnt appear they know how to use the macro setting very well of have a steady hand....whatever the case may be.

I have a questiona bout TouchWiz... I noticed in the S4 videos, when people were pressing app icons, the icon itself wouldn't highlight.

Is this just a thing with TouchWiz? There's no visual cue that you've tapped the icon? It gives the sense that there's this "lag" between touching the icon and launching it, because there's no visual confirmation the touch has been registered until the app actually launchers.

Is this how it is in TouchWiz?

Not very thorough. At all.

Not thorough at all. I would have liked him to cover more on the ir blaster and S-Health. The two killer features of the phone in my opinion.

Wow, that's a neat way to do it.

This is really the best way to do it. I don't purchase from Itunes but I purchase from other stores around the web. Google automatically adds any songs I purchase from any of those retailers to my Google Play Library and it is available on my phone immediately without me having to do anything.

Getting a little bit ahead of myself but some people want a local copy of their music on their phone too. Google play is primarily a streaming service but allows you to download a copy to the phone for local playback if you so desire.

You can have the google play app download local copies for individual songs, albums, or playlists.

I have it right now where it automatically downloads a copy of a song if I give it up a thumbs up and it will only start downloading when I'm connected to wifi. I only give a thumbs up to songs I want on my shuffle list and this works well for me.

Must admit, if they could do a Mini with a 4.3" 720p screen - but otherwise the exact same specs as the GS4 - i'd be tempted. But when they drop all the other specs gpu/cpu/ram etc... and saddle it with a sub 720p ((540 x 960 pixels) screen - I think they are really being cheeky calling it a S4 mini.... The only way it's an S4 mini is in it's shape and thats dissapointing.

I'm sure there is a sizeable audience of folks who would kindly love a top of the range smartphone with the latest specs but smaller screen size (4-4.3") compared with that 4.8/5/5.5"...

Some would say it doesn't need all the hardware powering a smaller screen. It would dominate the S4 in GPU benchmarks handily if it had the same CPU/GPU as the S4.

It's kind of like the iPad vs the iPad Mini. The iPad has a retina display, faster processor etc etc. The Mini is smaller and less powerful. At the same time it doesn't have to be anymore powerful then it is.

I don't know if Phone Arena is reviewing a retail version with final software or not, but the video still shows considerable lag given the S4 specs. This worries me greatly. Look at around the 2:40 mark when he's scrolling through menus, or just generally when he's hitting the home button.

Even when he's launching apps, there's some considerable delay. It's delay I do not notice when I was using my Nexus 4. Gosh, is TouchWiz that burdensome?

This really turns me off from the S4...

he is basically loading up every feature of the phone in memory,at some point it will lag and kill processes to free up space. In the real workd you are not going to run every single thing the cell can do so I would not worry about it.

Maybe the gs5 will get 4GB of ram so review sites can just load up everything and not worry about it lol

I rather the explanation be that he's running unfinished software. :T

I really hope that's the case. It seems to me Phone Arena just got this review out to have the exclusive or first S4 review. It's not very thorough. I'll await more official release reviews, but regardless, seeing the S4 stutter like that multiple times throughout the video is alarming.

if you see when he swipes its home screens there is a widget that is trying to load the whole time with a circle thing,it could have a memory leak in some apps also but the stutter we are seeing is def from the phone freeing up ram and stopping apps to load new instructions in the phone.I am willing to bet if he did a task shower he has like 70 apps in the system loaded from using the device.

I rarely(almost never) get any lag with TW on the S3. So I have faith the S4 will be the same. I wouldn't put too much into a video.

I know on the S3 there can be some lag when pressing the home button if you also use the home button long-press to launch s-voice. The answer to this is to disable launching s-voice from the home button and then it works without lag.

I completely agree. They better not pull out the "mini" tag like they did with the s3 mini. That was a completely different phone than the regular s3.....it actually was worse than the s2, but had the benefit of JB.

Steve Kondik (Cyanogen) posted his experience with the S4.

Re : Touchwiz UI on S4
"feels like it has been sent back a few years in time to the Froyo days."

Might explain the traces of lag we have seen compared to the UI on S3 which is smoother by comparison.

I suspect that's exactly what they will do.

This will be branded as the Galaxy S4 Mini

Good question!!!... Hope is the same size with the iphone 5

It's a micro-sim. Not a nano sim as in the iPhone 5.

I think Apple have spoilt us. I'm used to getting information about a new product when it's announced plus pricing info.

This waiting around is annoying.

maybe they said end of April to be safe, and will shock everyone with an early or mid april release. That would be a good way to create buzz and excitement.
