I never buy smartphones on a contract. I rather sell my current one and use that money to buy new ones every year.

Don't you pay extra every month though? I know with AT&T when you get a contract phone you also pay an extra $25 per month on that plan which over 2 years is $600. Nothing is for free with carriers.

Absolutely love this phone. I was able to sell off my iPhone 6 and have had no regrets until now... Anyone else having the screen rotation issue? Mine takes a very hard flip to the point that it's almost upside down in order to get to landscape, and sometimes that doesn't even work. Also, in a game like Temple Run, the guy is stuck on the left side when the phone is flat. I tried rebooting, fully powering off and on, and two factory resets and the problem persists. Luckily Verizon is sending me out a replacement, but upon further research, I found this thread which shows it's a somewhat widespread issue and everyone has different cases - some people had it happen the first day even without installing anything/charging, others it happened after their first charge, and for me, I know everything worked perfectly the first few days then the issue just came out of nowhere.

Galaxy S6 edge sales surpass expectations, grabs half of all Samsung’s new sales

Galaxy S6 edge sales surpass expectations, grabs half of all Samsung’s new sales

Some have said in the days since the MWC 2015 Galaxy S6/S6 edge announcement (March 1) that Samsung should’ve made the Galaxy S6 edge the flagship and launched the “edge” as the company’s only flagship model. New results posted by Yonhap show that there may be some kernel of truth to the statement.

The Galaxy S6 edge has grabbed 50% of all new Samsung Galaxy S6 sales, with the company’s regular Galaxy S6 grabbing the other half. The normal Galaxy S6 sales are expected, as is the case with the Note 4 Samsung launched last Fall in comparison with the Note Edge. What is surprising, however, is that the Galaxy S6 edge was only expected to grab 20-30% of all S6 sales – not fifty percent.

There is much praise for Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, but the cost of the S6 edge has been considered as a drawback from buying what is, undisputedly, the company’s most innovative Galaxy S model we’ve ever seen. And yet, customers seem to love the “People Edge” that lets you color-code contacts and see your phone display light up when a close friend or relative calls (among other features). What may have been perceived as a huge leap of faith for Samsung is turning into currency – and that’s all the Korean manufacturer could ever hope for. If the tech media is wondering whether or not the Galaxy S6/S6 edge can turn around sales, the answer is clear.

I wonder if they were just using this year as a test to see if next year they should have the S Edge and then the Note as their only flagships

I hope not. I hope they still keep both options for consumers. The regular S6 and the S6e and the same for the Note line.
But I am hopeful the curved screens evolve into some of the POC bendable screens we have seen on youtube from Samsung.

Note 4 is the right choice and everybody knows it. In my country I can get the note 4 for 520€ and the s6 edge costs 899. Both 32gb versions.
Anyone buying the edge in full price now is just an idiot. End of story.

Agreed. At that end of the price spectrum you just buy an apple device lol.

Eek a scratch already. That's why I had to get a case for mine though I'm still worried I'll scratch my screen before my Samsung flip case arrives.

The edge does get noticeably warm when doing heavier work but haven't had any overheating issues.

Well, to be fair, the scratch occurred from my stupidity. I was using a paperclip to get the sim tray open and accidentally scratched it. I have a case on my phone, but I hate scratches and am OCD about it.

Well, I wish I could get another one lol, but I think my phone is fine outside of overheating and wifi calling. I always get "cover your fingerprint scanner in full" or something like that on mine. When I had the 5S, it didn't do that as much. Could it be a defective scanner?

I left it at home on purpose thinking a paper clip would be fine. The little tool is easy to lose, so I leave it at home. As for the S6E, does it have a memory leak bug like the 5.0 firmware has for many devices? I notice my RAM usage is high. T-Mobile wouldn't replace my device with wifi calling issues and overheating.

Loving my S6Edge so far. Battery life is good. The phone is one the fastest most responsive phones have had. Coming from the N4 and 6+ the last few months it's nice use a phone one handed again.

Same. Going down in size was the right move for my needs. Note 4 is awesome but it is uncomfortable for how I use my phones.

No. Ram usage is very high on mine too.

I'm still getting app refreshes especially in play newsstand and Tapatalk. My moto X is actually better at handling open apps despite having 1gb less ram.

Thankfully the S6e is blazing fast and reloads content extremely quickly, but its still noticeable.

Mine sits at 2gb used without any other apps open and will quickly get down to 85% used with just a handful of apps open. That being said system manager still tells me I have some free ram and yet my apps refresh, so I think TW is killing apps quite aggressively.

I have a stock setup, with sim free, unlocked, carrier unbranded UK&Ireland XEU model. So its nothing to do with carrier bloat.
