Well I suppose I could just do a new line of service with Next and then cancel immediately, not sure how that works. I guess I'll be on the hook for the activation fee but I bet a call to ATT will fix that.

Anyone know how upgrading Next works? I am on the 12 month plan and am eligible to upgrade, I have like $300 ish left to pay on my Note 4. So if I upgrade with the edge 6 plus it resets me to the $814 full price right? Can I just pay off the $816 and be free? Then I'd have to trade in my Note 4 though, hmm. I prob won't get much more than $300 out of it on swappa anyway.

@MRU I know you're intentions are not to get either device anytime soon--or at least till its released in the UK--but which of the two do you think you'll get?

Sigh, 2 different best buys and they wouldn't allow me to buy it full price and get the promo. No way in hell this phone is worth $900. Oh well, ATT has the same promo but they also specify a new line. I think I'm just going to wait a couple months and buy it for $600 on swappa, or just stick with my iPhone which I'm growing fond of again.

I just went to my local Best Buy to look at the edge+ again and ask about the trade in promotion, and now I remember why I dislike that place. Launch day and they won't have a note 5 or edge+ in stock until next week. I couldn't ask about trading a phone in because they only have two people working in that part of he store and there's a line. Terrible!

The 2 Best Buys I was in had plenty in stock and no lines. One rep laughed when I asked if they still had any in stock.

too much hassle with note 5...edge plus is the best option I reckon.

Purely based on the fact the Edge's resale value drops quicker but the initial cost is greater - the Note 5 if it was available as it's more logical / sensible choice.

I've already lost €450 (nearly 50%) of the value of my 6 Edge in just a few months and demand for them on second hand market just doesn't seem to be there.

However Note 5 isn't available here, and with Edge + priced greater than the Edge I currently have that's already depreciated greatly - I'm not inclined to get either soon at all. I'll be buying the Moro X Style & iPhone 6S+

Thats the issue is resale.

I get it doesn't mean alot for guys who keep their phones a while but those who like upgrading every year (us) it simply is too bad of a knock cost wise.

If I was to buy the 64GB 6S I would still get a good £400 for it next year

the 128GB iphone 6 plus is currently going for £450 on sellmymobile while 64GB is going for about £410-415 which is amazing given what the S6 edge is selling for if i decided to sell it. Chances are I will keep the edge for a long time as a spare

Yeah 64gb iPhone 6 plus is reselling here higher than the 64gb edge, despite the edge being 6 months it's junior. Likewise iPhone adverts have lots of interest, whereas the plethora of Edge's show little traction making the few offers they do receive even lower. I can't justify spending the entire cost of another phone to upgrade the edge to edge plus when I could simply but another phone and keep my edge for less money.

i've worked it out

it cost you less to get the 64 than the 128GB in terms of selling and paying the rest.

Would cost you about £292 to buy the 6S plus 64GB if you sell the 6 plus 64B
would cost you about £341 if you buy the 6S plus 128GB if you sell the 128GB 6 plus

so going forward i may do this...

think 64GB is the option i may end up with. never had 128GB. All I know is my S6 edge i have 700MB of my 32GB left

I was wondering, does Package Disabler Pro disable carrier bloatware as well?

Changed firmware to UK firmware XEU and my CSC to match - Got the latest update downloading now.

Will post screenshots of the latest features once I have it installed and my phone re-setup :)

Apps Edge is very handy. Not too keen on new icons but they are better than previous. I'm going back to the material ones.

Quick assement - Memory management is improved too :) :) actually noticeably so ..... launching my most used apps from apps edge and managing to keep them in memory. Great improvement.

Oh and if your using apps edge, it remembers you used app edge last rather than people edge.

Being able to use it on every app too makes it quicker than recent apps list.

Have no need to upgrade now :)

Bad news - more bloat installed with firmware. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gear app. Thankfully can be disabled.

Apps edge multitasking

Woohoo, success. I paid off my Next plan with my Note 4 and bought it as a new Next plan on my existing line. Best Buy gave me $200 off for my trade in phone, they ALSO had a $45 gift card for activating with them. I also got the free wireless charger. As much as I normally dislike BB, I was impressed this time around and they took care of me.

Very nice overall. It's a bit "sharp" for my tastes, but I'm just used to how smooth the sides of the iPhone are. I didn't realize it's pretty much the same size as my Note 4 just a LOT thinner. Can't wait to get it set up.

Is it the fast charger or standard charger?

Did you trade in your note 4 or did you use a different phone? The Best Buy website doesn't give much information on what phones get $200 gift cards.

I used an iPhone 4 I bought off of CL for $50. I still have my Note 4. I think any smartphone that has some value on their trade in website, but it can't be a contract free phone like a phone for a prepaid service. After searching around it seemed easiest to me to just buy a used iPhone.
