i buy one two give my6+ to my wife and dammn it's sexy fast and Samsung has change the last Samsung that i have was the gs4

What pros/ cons did you weight? Just curious :)

Both surprisingly good battery wise, and look great but

edge +

Feels better in my hands, feels nicer to navigate content on it and feels more immersive
Slightly lighter
Apps Edge
Looks aesthetically that bit nicer (emphasis here on bit)

Note 5

It's all about the S-Pen, memo functions and drawing. Standby drain has been higher than the Edge + for some reason.

What I don't like -

Don't like the pair of them are finger print magnets.
Note 5's curved back makes getting decent tempered back protector awkward
s6 Edge + curved front makes getting decent tempered front protector awkward
4G on my Note 5 is still not working with my main carrier, seems to work with my spare other sim.

Both have great screens brightness wise and outdoor viewing. I always loved S6 Edge aesthetics but lamented the ram issues, the Edge + essentially reaffirms my love of the design and mostly addresses my ram concerns that it doesn't bother me in general use.

So for me despite the greatness the Note 5 undoubtly is, I just think the Edge + is more appealing to me.

If I hadn't got a great deal on the Edge + I wouldn't have paid €900 for it after spending similar on my normal edge, and seeing the resale value drop significantly. I would have stuck with the Note 5 and had no regrets had I not got lucky regarding price of Edge +

Interesting thing I've noticed in the last week (on my S6e) is that it's been so much smoother then ever before. Almost rivaling my nexus 5.

I used to manually close apps all the time and the phone was always stuttering ever since I got it - multiple refreshes a day for no reason.

Last week I stopped closing apps - and for whatever reason is been smoother than ever. I have around 35 apps open and the phone doesn't miss a beat. I does reload apps that I haven't used in a few hours when I open then again but the stuttering is almost completely gone.

had my first play with a edge plus today., boy is it sexy.. the light gold highlights the design perfectly.. but the finger print thing is massive tho.. you would need to carry a cloth round all the time lol

Yep. Microfibre cloth suddenly almost becomes a vital accessorie with the new Samsung handsets this year.

Does the Edge+ still have the sharp sides as found on the regular S6 Edge? My biggest reason for getting a regular S6 was the superior ergonomics in my opinion over the edge.

I never found it too sharp but the extra width does make it feel a little nicer - but you may still find it too sharp as it's not much different in reality to the smaller version.

Curious, has anyone ever bought from Expanses? Is it a trustworthy reseller?

Edit: after reading some reviews, it seems some advise to stay away from this company.

Honestly apps edge sucks, Swipepad is so much better I couldn't tolerate apps edge at all.

The gold Edge+ was one of the best-looking smartphones I've ever seen. Way to go, Samsung! I was impressed!

I've bought stuff from them, never had a problem. They've been around for a long long time. Them and clove.co.uk are the main place to go for unlocked handsets

Edge plus has dropped £100 on contract since launch on a couple of sites. Just another 3 or 4 months and it will be around 50-70% RRP

It's crazy just how bad the resale value is on Samsung devices, it's almost not worth selling them later on given they lose so much of their value. It's just a horrible investment for someone who wants to switch devices as many times as possible with as small a loss as possible. On the other hand I was looking at used iPhone prices on Craigslist and they have barely lost $200 in a year which is crazy, that's cheaper than a carrier upgrade program.

Since I paid 949 euro for my standard 64gb S6 Edge, I'm expecting it to sell for 450....

It's lost €500 in 6 months or 55-60% of its value

It's a big reason why iphone is the way to go for me now. Buying a phone every year with no 24 month contract
