I use Textra as my SMS app, and it has a built in feature to awake the screen upon receiving a text, like the iPhone. Love it!
Ok, calling on the phone addicts. Yes, I'm looking at you MRU, Jamezr, Epic, etc...
I've been a longtime lurker on here and only recently started posting. My addiction started when I grew tired of the iPhones and bought an M7 when it was released. Since then I've been through the M7, Moto X 2013, Z1c, iPhone 5s and 5c, Z3c, M8, Moto X 2014, Galaxy Alpha, M9 (though only for a week) and now I currently have both the iPhone 6+ and the Galaxy S6.
My wife has put her foot down and firmly suggested I stop changing phones. I'm currently loving, and planning on making the S6 my longterm (read 1yr) phone. However, I do love my 6+ and know if I give up my foothold in the iOS world that I'll be itching to check it out again.
Whatcha think? Can I make a strong case to her for me to keep both and maybe extend the period to 1.5yrs before changing again?
Help a fellow addict out!
I've given up explaining to people why, now they just ask me what phone am I using this week and it's become a running joke
Rooted my S6 today! Uninstalled all the bloat I could. In the end it freed up more ram. Now there's over a GB free ram.

Same when I had my N6. But for the S6 this is a step in the right direction. Not too be that guy, but when I used my Nexus 6 my RAM use was never that high... >_>

I am not sure. It might be some TW features might run under system.Yeah. Do we know why System is using about 400mb more in touchwiz?

Have no idea...but it would be nice to have choice of unlocking my S6 and running CM12 on it. For me straight Android is a little bland right now. Sure Google is adding features but they still fall behind OEMs features. This might seem like a silly question ... but why does TouchWiz need to have so much at this stage? Google's adding more and more to Android itself, they could easily STOP making some of the programs they do and give it over to Google themselves. Then they can differentiate through hardware, like having a processor that beats out the Snapdragon 810.
Saves them money, save everyone else headache, we all win.

understand....love my iphone too! But i get bored with IOS. Same way i get bored with vanilla Android. Its all about choices!I guess that's why, some people really like what TouchWiz offers. I've never actually used it, so maybe it's just something I'd need to use to get. It just seems weird to me. Then again, I like stock so maybe that's where our divide comes from. I'm more of a "works better is good, even if it's a little bland" type of person. It's also probably why I love my iPhone. XD

Hey when you become king......i have some requests! Can I be the royal technology geek? That's the best thing about Android, the choices. Everything doesn't have to be the way I like it, I'm not King Goff who dictates what everyone likes ... not yet anyway.
I'm kind of bored with iOS, to be honest, but it works the best for what I use it for. It's also cheaper on plan than any Android phone. XD

ok.......technology geek assistant then? Don't wanna be the jesterIt's either you or MRU. >_>
The other is the court jester!

Nice! Congrats! Now disable all the bloat...enable developer mode....then reduce animations to .5 and watch it really fly!Just picked up the S6 Edge 64gb in gold platinum color. I'm very impressed so far.
I struggle with the size of the S6 too TBH. I can't wait for the Note 5.Man... part of me wants the S6 so much right now. But part of me knows that it's too small for me. I can't go back to a 5" phone now that I've used a 5.5" and a 6" (two 6" phones, really, but one can't be used on Sprint anyway)

XD
Why don't you two make YouTube channels, btw? You've got plenty of phones to review. And then, if you end up becoming wildly successful, you can write off your phone purchases because they'd be business expenses!

I switch back and forth with the S6 and 6+ by just swapping sim cards.
The youtube thing takes up too much time! If i was going to do it I would want to do it well......and that would mean a big time commitment i just don't have.
Its pretty easy....I have a Verizon nano sim that has my verizon phone number attached to it. That is the sim size that fits for both S6 and all iPhones and the Nexus 6 as well. So it is just a matter of taking the sim out of my S6 and popping it into my 6+. It searches for a network signal and activates in about a minute. Now my personal number has been switched from one phone to the other. Rinse and repeat when i feel like switching phones. When the Note 5 comes out, I'll definitely be looking at your review to see if it's worth getting. Also, the S6 can swap SIM cards with the 6+? The N6 has to have its own with Sprint, so it's just a case of activating it and switching. Seems like a foreign concept to me what you do.
