the memory issue exacerbates it I bet, but hangouts takes a long time to load no matter the phone I believe (at least 'first load'). It should be quick after it is cached in ram though

Switching to it is slow as heck, too. For example, when tapping a Hangouts notification on the lock screen, then finger print unlocking so that it loads directly into the message in Hangouts takes forever.

Likewise, tapping on the Hangouts notification from the pull down menu to switch to it also takes forever.

Forever = a solid second or sometimes even two.

It's annoying.

Weird, I definitely get the slow 1-2 sec first load. Can't test the notification problem right now but I can say it opens quick switching between apps in the multitasking switcher.

Well, putting my S6 up for sale. I just missed my Note 4 too much, that last week I switched my sim to it and haven't missed my S6 since. Don't get me wrong, its an incredible phone and will be the one I recommend to most people (along with the iPhone), but in the end the Note was calling me back. Great thing is with how good the S6 is, it makes me REALLY excited for the Note 5, can't wait.

I am kinda in the same boat. Miss the bigger screen on the Note 4 and can't wait for the Note 5!!
I just switch to my 6+ when I miss bigger screen.

Its not just the bigger screen, I carry my iPhone 6 plus too, there something about the Note that keeps drawing me to it. I think its the combo of design with the large screen and spen with multi window. Wish performance was the same as the GS6 though.

I have had no second thoughts about missing the iPhone 6 plus whatsoever after selling it and getting the Note 4.

Call recording without root working nicely on my S6 edge.
Call recorder ACR

This finger print app lock is also a must have for the S6.
FingerSecurity

So far the performance of my S6 Edge has been outstanding. Auto call recording was always one of my main reasons to root. But now I'm thinking I might skip rooting this time around.

Im curious , what do you use the call recording for? I ask to get ideas as i really dont see a need for it for me. I tried an app for it one time and i just got irritated that it automatically recorded every conversation i had and had to keep deleting them.

----------

Two apps are constant culprits of hanging:

Google Play Music and Hangouts.

I'll start with Play Music... anytime I open the app, it literally takes a solid second, if not more, to finally open. Anyone else? It almost always happens this way. It takes so long, the white/gray highlight animation actually finishes and goes away before the app opens. It's ridiculous. And just in general, Play Music is just generally slow. Navigating through the menus, loading things up, etc. What gives? Does the app just suck?

Hangouts... isn't as bad, but it hangs when I get a Hangout notification, go to my pull down menu, and tap to switch to it. It just takes forever to switch.

What's up with these two apps? Does anyone else experience the same thing? Does it relate to the TouchWiz memory management issue?

I hardly ever use Google Music. I have my own music loaded on the phone that i use or just use Spotify's free version. Ive made playlists or just follow other playlists that i like on Spotify. I havent tried Google Music on my GS6 yet but the last time i used it, the volume was low compared to Spotify and the music in my phone.

Hangouts, i dont have that issue. Right now im using Hangouts as just Hangouts with the friends i have in it and the stock app for other SMS and have them combined in the same folder so i get number tag notifications for both in the same place as well as the lockscreen. It switches between them fast.

I didnt use to do that with my Nexus 5 but i took a liking to the stock Message app which i didnt before with my GS3.

Not sure which I would pick between the iPhone and Note. I carried the S6 with my iPhone 6 plus for a bit, but kept missing the note. Then I tried the S6 with the Note and only lasted 2 days before wanting my iPhone again. So far about a week and a half with the Note and IPhone and I'm not missing my S6, so I decided to sell it. I am getting a little tired of carrying 2 phablets though, so I think I'm going to switch out my 6plus for a regular 6 to use along side my note.

Some for business references, but mostly because I don't have the greatest short term memory when information is given to me, especially with appointments. Recording calls helps out a lot. I only clean up two months or so, as the format I choose to record doesn't take up much space.

As far as the bigger screen goes, I'm not missing that. The S6 screen is top notch and the screen grid to 5 by 5 is a plus. I do miss the S-pen as I did enough note jotting, now I use my finger which isn't the same but doable.

So here's the thing !!
I just got my new S6 edge yesterday and I love it, but I have one problem.
If I hold the phone with two hands on the edge of the screen and I want to type on the keyboard, it start to type the letter by itself special the letters P and Q , and while holding it with two hands if I hover over a letter it literally type it without touching the screen. Is anyone experiencing this problem ?

Ah, i can see where that would come in handy and a good idea that i would do as well but since i dont have business things going on, it was a pain to to have to delete for personal calls all the time. Still, there are those few conversations that it would come in handy if i dont mind deleting all the time , lol.

One thing I like about the ACR app, is you can black or white list the numbers that will be recorded. This helps if you don't want your most common calls to flood the records.

Yup, and it gets better, someone is already offering me a 3 week old iPhone 6 for my S6. Going to look at it tomorrow, but I think I'll take it.

Only problem now is that the iPhone will be on my work line, and I'd prefer to be able to use my Moto 360 line. Maybe I'll get an apple watch?

Don't I know it. Been looking for the perfect combo for 5 years now. Everytime I think I have it, a new variable appears.

Double tap to launch camera from anywhere is very impressive. It's something you get used to really fast.

And the last AT&T update does seem to have made the experience a touch "snappier" and more stable.

Battery life is up for sure.

I keep going back between my 6+ and my S6 Edge and it's driving me crazy. I have since sold the Edge and now I'm missing it like crazy but when I'm using it I miss my iPhone.

First world problems.

I got the edge for 20% less than retail brand new too.

What do I do? Will 5.1.1 be a good update? What's guest mode like?

Yes. I don't even have a camera app anymore in my home screen. Double tap for camera is really great.

Can't wait for that update...

No app is needed. Hard baked into the current version of TW. I prefer stock launcher.
