Using Nova, i have double tap to open my camera but it isnt everywhere. It wont open it in my email or Facebook for instance. Are you guys using an App?

Does Nova have a double-tap feature that conflicts with it? I don't use Nova.

I use Google Now launcher. Double tap to launch the camera happens everywhere for me, even in Gmail and Facebook. Just tested.

I just tried the double tap for camera from within the email app and it worked fine for me. I'm using Nova.

Unless I flash back to stock

I think that means your e-fuse knox thingy has been tripped. I think it will always say custom now, but don't quote me on that.

As far as warranty, there are reports that knox tripped phones have received support in the past, but who knows

I wonder what implications having 'custom' has on samsung pay, seems like all conjecture and theory right now, because the service isnt rolled out yet right?

Yep it will always say Knox 0x1 now. But you can get it to say official by flashing stock firmware but Knox trip will remain.

Some users have said but can not confirm that You may potentially have banjaxed the fingerprint scanner by tripping Knox - I can not confirm this though, when you flash official firmware back. Samsung Pay again is potentially cut off now too.

Warranty service will now be at the mercy of Samsung technicians. You may get away with it, but they could reject hardware repair or replacement... Just Russian roulette I guess.

I know there were issues with the finger print sensors not working when flashing new roms on the Note 4. It was found that you must delete registered finger scans before you flash, then all is well. Possible that the same can happen on the S6.

When I rooted and flashed the rom using Flashfire, the whole process was NOT supposed to trip Knox. I researched the process and followed others who tried it first and verified that flashing roms with Flashfire would NOT trip Knox. Downloaded and installed Knox checker from the playstore and verified Knox has not been tripped on my S6! :)

Whoa that is very cool, thanks for posting :)

I thought I read someone tripped Knox just uninstalling system apps , which I would imagine installing clean touchhwiz rom is similar. That's crazy stuff, wonder where the 'Knox line you cannot cross' actually is.

Cool. That's a relief, I wonder how they managed to work around the fact the device knows there is a custom ROM but not trip Knox. As long as its not tripped who cares how I guess .... Just wonder if Samsung will quickly patch whatever exploit they are using.

Now the next part of this experiment is to remove the dreaded "custom" from the the boot up screen.
I am going to Odin back to stock and see I can remove it.

See if someone made a custom boot screen that mimics the original one. I flashed one with the Note 4. Can't tell the differ.

Well I had my final go with the S6 and I have returned it and happily went back to my 6+. The S6 was a great device but things like iMessage and FaceTime are important to me for many different reasons and I missed it dearly. Also the size and battery life is what I missed the most and also app quality. Having to disable a lot of features on the s6 just to get subpar battery life also wasn't flying with me. All in all its a great device and the best Samsung device ever made but it's little things that made me want to transfer back over.

well you can't go wrong with the 6+ its a great phone. Can't compare the battery life between the S6 and 6+. I have both phones but one is a phablet with a large battery and one is not. Wait for the Note 5 in a few months...it should be a game changer. :)

I thought you guys were talking about double tapping the screen. It works in Nova double tapping the home button no matter what im in but Nova also has a gesture to double tap the screen and if you have that set to open the camera, it doesnt work everywhere. Just on the home screens and app screens.

Question: how do I make the long press go straight to google now voice? Instead of just the search bar?

I think your right, I have a feeling this might be the last of the galaxy note line.
