How many times have you seen them going up?
Never. But with the dismal sales of the s6, Samsung keeps slashing prices. It would be foolish for anyone to pick one up now when price will certainly drop before the holidays and after the new year. You can pick up a second hand s6 for around £250 right now, that's pretty cheap, but it will be cheaper.

But if you need the phone now, not on next year... 450€ is a nice price.

The price already hit €340 and it will just keep falling, it would be foolish to throw away money on a sure thing.
I would pick up a second hand iPhone or android use it for a couple of weeks, sell it and pick up a Samsung s6 in November/December for around €250 with a slew of free extras, accessories, or promotion Samsung and retailers usually throw in during the holidays. And this year Samsung is really desperate, might as well take advantage of it.

But what do I know I got an iPhone 6s Plus at full price on day one and couldn't be happier. :)

Dont know where it is sold so low but the price of s6 never been here at 340€. It is now around 450€ only in a one store (32gb, few left) while others sell it at 550-600€.

I too have 6s+ and still wondering why paid 1000€ for a mediocre phone... money is not issue for me, but i still usually do rational purchases. This was an exception though.. We dont have apple stores here, and we cant buy applecare for iphones either. If i break my phone i pay it myself (no accidental damages (applecare)), if there is a hadware problem, i have to send it to apple (no apple stores). Siri doesnt work here. So you dont get any extra benefits of buying iphone here, but you still pay the full price.

I'm still looking for a smaller device to change from my Note 4. The size is getting on my nerves.

S6, Nexus 5X... Don't see many other options.

Is there any word from Samsung themselves when they'll be pushing it?

Last year, I think it took 3+ months for the latest Android update. Plus carrier-update-time.

Well regardless i had enough of it. This is first and last time i have android phone.
I like the 5X but the washed out colors of the screen are pushing me away from it.

It's not amoled how can it be washed out.

Do you lose any other functionality ?

Not that I can see.

For Google Now, you'll have to depress the button for real. Or for double tap to launch camera. It all still works. Finger print, too.

Apparently the paid version gives even more functionality. But this is all I need. This is perfect.

From article:
With the pro version ($1.69), you can also wake the screen by touching the home button (as long as you're not using fingerprint unlock) or lock it with a long-tap.

Neat.

Actually, long pressing the physical home button for Google Now is tricky because it also thinks you're trying to go home.

So if long-press is a big deal, this might not be ideal. Luckily, I rarely ever use long press.

Double-tap for camera still works thankfully. That I use all the time.

What?! I'm gonna try this ASAP: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/1...s-physical-home-button-into-a-capacitive-one/

easyHome Turns Your Samsung Device's Physical Home Button Into A Capacitive One

EDIT: It works. Quite well so far.

EDIT 2: Very well! A soft tap brings you back home every single time. I'm impressed. I'm loving it. I hate physical home buttons. Now I get best of both worlds with fingerprint scanner and soft touch to go home.

WOW

Awesome find!!! Thank you!! I've been wanting something like this for years!!! :D:D

I laughed when I read that he said using the home button is a lot of work.

A lot of work is a bit much to say but on screen and capacitive buttons are easier than physical home buttons.

Physical buttons require opposite force to depress. Little, but it's still required. Sometimes at night when I'm laying in bed and wanna hit the home button I don't have any opposite force cause of the way I'm holding the device (upside down and all) so I have to re-grip slightly to have opposite force.

I've always been a bigger fan of on screen buttons.

Not even if you had got it a few weeks later from a reseller at a discount price ?
