Note 4 user but I wanted to switch to a smaller phone when I had the Note 3. But when I heard about Gear VR thats when I changed my mind and went to the Note 4.
Looks like I will be getting the S6 Edge.

The 6 edge looks great!!

I ended up working a late shift yesterday so missed the announcement. Still working my way through everything.

----------

I agree. I think that that camera on my S5 was better than the camera on my 6 plus. It depends on what you like though as the iPhone probably produces more realistic pictures.

The edge looks nice though. I am tempted!!

----------

It seems strange that Sansdisk has just announced a 200GB micro SD card and going forward samsung phones don't support expandable storage. I got excited when I saw it for a second and then stopped as I'll never get to use it unless I buy an older Samsung phone. #

Go take a look at the Anandtech Note 4 review. It produces very very soft images in low light, softer than iPhone 6 Plus.

The exynos note 4 was out same time and breaks 4k geekbench

iPhone 6 destroys note 4 in single core performance.
Now tell me what will take the advantage of those 8 cores?

----------

Please don't use apple owned annandtech as a review site.

Of course. If a review states that the iPhone does something better than some other Android phone, it's automatically Apple owned. Lol Of course

Please don't post the reviews of the Samsung/Android owned sites like phone arena or GSM arena, OK?

I'm just basing it off my own experiences and comparing the pictures I took with my S5 to my iPhone 6 plus. The 6 plus takes great pictures in low light though.

Anandtech is known to be biased towards Apple.

I think most neutral reviewers but the cameras on the note 4 and 6 plus on the same level.

----------

If these claims are true, it makes the non - removable batteries less of an issue. Also, with wireless charging built in, it lessens the need. The Note 5 is going to be a slick beast.

You would need to have access to a charging point to make use of this though. I suppose you could always buy the mophie case when it gets released.

4 hours in 10 minutes is amazing though.

Everyone knows they are apple biased and android fully takes advantage of 8 cores.

Annandtech got so called out about there sunspider scores that they publicly said they will no longer use them in cpu tests going forward.

So when all you apple fans were bragging about sunspider scores and we were trying to explain to u its nothing but a how well your Internet browser is optimized bench no one cared.

Oh yeah I forgot and went off topic.the exynos note 4 beat the iPhone 6 and 6 plus in every bench except sunspider on your beloved Annandtech review site.

I have never said everyone copies apple.

----------

If you can't see then I don't know what else to say.

Side by side I don't see any hint of the iPhone 6 in the S6, can you elaborate specifically why? Other than the bottom, yes that's an exact copy but who the heck looks at the bottom of their phone. For the other 99% of the phone they don't look the same at all. Seriously, it makes NO sense whatsoever.

I not a Samsung fan, but they finally have me excited for something other than Note. They seem to have really stepped things up, the design looks really great even if it looks like an iPhone 6 knocked up à Galaxy S4. I was originally planning on getting the M9, and I still might, but the edge looks really good and unique and it will be tough in deciding between the 2.

It's sad that my only problem is I can't decide what color edge to get lol

I think you have your wires crossed there. Anand Lal Shimpi the former CEO left the company to work for Apple and the company was sold to 'Purch'.

AnandTech is not owned by Apple as far as I know.

Shimpi still hangs around annandtech and you know what I mentioned apple owns it.the whole time shimpi was there he was hanging out in apples backyard.

They were so heavily apple biased

Seriously, I usually get black and have always found the colors Samsung used to be too "blingy", but some of the colors I've seen look really cool. The dark green especially. Can't wait to try out in the store.

the iphone 6 still looks nicer. It has the cuved glass and looks way more refined and seamless than the galaxy 6.

The S6edge is beautiful despite of the general design and not because of it. what makes the edge beautiful and exciting is the curvature.

I care less and less about the back of a phone as the years roll on.

The front of the Edge is just so gorgeous, and as long as the back is comfortable to hold, Samsung have got it right.

The normal S6 just looks like the S4 really (from the front).

I'm still baffled by this, how the heck do they look alike any more than any other smartphone with a screen and a home button?!?! Refer to the picture I posted a couple posts up.

Lol, isn't it utterly baffling?

The Edge looks awesome.

What I don't see right now is the practical use this brings... I know I can put it face-down and still get "VIP" notifications, but if that is all...

I agree, especially with the front of the iPhone 6. Apple uses that seamless bezel so when the phone is turned off it looks like one big black surface which is immensely aesthetically pleasing IMO. Also Apple refrains from splashing their logo all over the front, Samsung has that incredibly ugly huge logo. At the end of the day the front of the S6 looks just like any other S series phone, other than the curve which I still can't wait to see in person versus the 2 dimensional images we are all seeing.

I don't know if I agree with the rear of the phones, but I'll withhold judgment until I actually fondle one in person. The glass back to me is classier than the aluminum of the ip6, but once again let's see implementation.

Well, even I have to admit Samsung finally got their 'stuff' together and made an attractive phone with premium build materials. Yes, metal and glass is less practical than plastic, but really, who wants practical? :D

Yes, the metal band bears a strong resemblance to that found on the current generation of iPhones but otherwise, the only cues they may have taken from Apple is in the build style (using metal/glass and eliminating the removable back panel). In truth, I don't think anyone can deny that they look like Samsung devices and the designs are well done. Still hate the big camera hump and the front company logo.

I guess I'm in the minority because I find the standard S6 far more appealing. The Edge may be prettier (debatable, IMO) but I find it to be pure form over function. There is very little functional advantage, if any and as I've already mentioned, I think I'd find the display bleeding over that waterfall edge to be annoying. Since cases can't cover up much of the side and the metal frame on those sides is much smaller, I think it's also far more susceptible to accidental damage.

My only other reservation regarding the hardware is the inclusion of the Quad HD display and its impact on battery life. Only time will tell on this one.

TouchWiz however, looks like it's barely changed and for me, that would probably be the deal breaker for me. Regardless how fast or smooth it is, I find TouchWiz wholly unenjoyable to use and this doesn't look much different. That's more of an issue of my personal preference though--well aware many like TW and they'll probably find the mild refresh nice.

Overall, I think Samsung hit a triple to use some baseball parlance. The hardware looks great, a nice design that still is identifiable as a Samsung device. Only things, IMO, keeping it from being a home run is TouchWiz seems like more of the same and potential battery life issues (not a huge battery and a high PPI display that may crave power). Have to give Samsung props though, did a very nice job with this refresh.

That is very different to being physically owned by Apple which is what was claimed. Assumption is very different to fact.

I find on the internet with reviews they attract a rather fickle response most of the time regardless of who writes them. If something is in favour or against a product its easy to make a claim of loyalty or lack of.
