I have both s7 and 6s plus. Give the nod to the s7 as well. But low light 6S is very good.
First pic is from s7. Second pic is from 6s plus in completely dark bedroom

This first pic has a greenish tint to it that the second pic does not have. Which pic is the more accurate representation of reality?

Good question. I am not a photo guy. More like a point and shoot. I have a dslr canon with some type high end lens my brother gave me as a hand me down.

I always hear over saturation of photos/ over exposed etc.

The Samsung according to the verge has f1.7 vs iPhone 6s with its f2.2. So the first pic (greenish tint, appears sharper to me).

But verge also says iPhone 6S plus has more natural color which the second pic I showed depicts.

Here is the article on the verge comparing the iPhone 6s Plus vs S7 Edge (s7 and s7 edge have exact same cameras)

http://www.theverge.com/2016/3/18/1...y-s7-edge-vs-iphone-6s-plus-camera-comparison

U really can't go wrong with either phones. That's why I love both of them and own both!

Supposedly the lg G5 camera is just as awesome.

We have just reach the point where there is very little difference between high end phones anymore. You can't go wrong with any of ur choices.

I have both the S7 and 6s+ and the cameras are pretty close but the S7 still wins out in daylight and low light

These are of my sons toys :)

Camera showdown

http://www.thejournal.ie/smartphone-camera-test-2732591-May2016/

A decent and fair article over on the Irish news site journal.ie

Essentially - all the devices tested win something. There really is no definitive outright winner as it depends on what your shooting and subjective preferences over vibrancy vs accuracy.

S7 still king of low light though, but it's good to see HTC at least put up decent performance generally and Huawei P9 does well too.

It's really good that we have got this far smartphone camera wise though and of course things will only get better going forward for all ...

:)

I agree with MRU cameras on smartphones have come a long way. I would love to get hold of a Huwaei P9 Plus sometime.

In the comparison below the 6P scores really well too.
If you have one phone to take with you somewhere the best rated camera phone is still the S7.
It still offers the fastest focus smartphone camera. So great for daytime action photos. Then it is best nighttime or low light smartphone camera you can buy and is waterproof as well.

The pic from the iPhone has more natural colors. Look at the table and the wall.

It's obvious from the post #4075 aswell. I don't know about the details but I like colors from the iPhone camera more.

maybe.....but for me....being a point and shoot user.....I will never edit the pictures I do take.....i would gladly choose the S7 picture anytime.

This is true. Auto mode over saturates a bit. In some case it's for the better, other cases it's not.

I have a Pro Mode icon on my homescreen that I use whenever I want to take pictures with my custom settings. This makes over saturation a non issue.

My only issue with that is, I can't use it with the double tap on the home button for extremely quick point n shoot. I wish Samsung would allow us to enable Pro Mode as a default.

I find iPhone shots are under saturated more often than Galaxy shots are over saturated.

I will admit for some strange reason, the S7 is not the best at taking pictures of the sky on auto mode. It's like it tries to over sharpen it. I almost always have to go to Pro Mode to get a great sky shot.

The S7 is king when it comes to focus time, and is one of the best in low light. IMO, Samsung just needs to adjust it's Auto Mode or let us choose Pro Mode custom settings as default.

Anything these days is better than the galaxy nexus and nexus 4 cameras! Those were awful cameras.

The second picture is better. The wood actually looks like wood.

Samsung should work on getting this into the note 6 or the s8 at the latest.

Under the screen: LG’s new fingerprint sensor can neither be felt nor seen

I'd wager the Note 6 is pretty well locked in at this point and may have already begun production. Not really viable to make a huge hardware change at this point--if it's not there already it's not going to be there. Doing something for the S8 is far more likely but I'd also guess the its design is already well underway.

to me the second picture looks washed out and the colors are bland. Looking at it in real life.....the first picture is more accurate.

I went by the Samsung Stand at the Best Buy store and Asked if the Rose gold color will be coming out in the USA. I was told to wait about June or July. I got my fingers crossed. :)

I'm sure the s7 has a great camera. Just in the example posted the 2nd looks more natural to me.

EDIT
Here is a comparison today from TalkAndroid between the S7 and iphone 6 cameras

They compared to an iPhone 6 ? Strange given the generation differences, they should have at least compared 6s or 6s+

Either way makes no difference, overall the S7 and S7e do currently have the generally better shooter overall ... But it's good we have the 6S/6S+, LG V10/G5, HTC 10, Nexus 6P etc.. all producing decent cameras - competition does improve end products for us all.

If first pic looks better to you, there's something wrong with your eyes.
lol....sure....your choice is the only one that matters. You like washed out and bland I rather colors that pop. But to each his own opinion.

You're right MRU. I didn't pick up the difference until just now. The guy wrote the article yesterday. I wonder if he just got the model numbers wrong? But if he didn't then that is just wrong to compare a whole generation back against a current gen phone.

It's not my choice. Wall isn't green in reality, thats for sure. On that pic it is.
it is in my house...i can sit on my sofa and look at it in real life and see exactly what it looks like. The wood looks more real in the first pic. It looks washed out and dull in the second pic. Same with all the colors. The second pic is a more true representation of what it actually looks like.
