Like today, I plugged in the phone to charge and took it off at 99% cause I had to step out. I ran Waze for a good while, auto brightness on, location is on high, wifi on, and did my casual Web surfing along with social media. My current SoT is at 2h 20m and battery is at 56%.

Is that decent battery? I feel others are getting better results.

Note: most of bloat ware disabled through OS as well.

Well that would be over 5 hours SOT following the math which is very good, especially with GPS.

I'd say your battery is good tbh and your attempting to fix something not broken.

I know there are some users who report massive battery life but I don't have that 9 or 10 hours SOT experience either. I get 5-6 SOT with my exynos variant and I consider that very good for android.

I use auto brightness and keep my level slider usually above 60-65%

Thanks MRU... I'll continue to monitor and post my results later.

I do have the latest update... do you have anything disabled?
No, nothing disabled other than nfc. I have all carrier bloat disabled and only disabled what apps I could in the touchwiz launcher, not through the apps settings.

What your getting seems about right, your on pace for a little over 5 hrs screen time (5hrs 18min).

Also remember that signal strength will also majorly effect battery life, even if your not using your phone.

Wow just tricked my S7e into showing me the USA content in the theme store. You get so many more options than we do.

I even managed to buy a couple via PayPal option.

What's the best screen protector for the S7 Edge?
That's still up for debate. I've tried a number of different ones now and none have satisfied me so far. Have a few more variations to come so hopefully that situation changes, but so far I'm not happy with current solutions.

Nothing on my S7e is disabled. Brightness at 100% during the day and then move it down to 30% once the sun sets. Always have NFC on for Android and Samsung pay purposes. Currently at 55% and 3 hours and 40 minutes of SoT.
Been playing a couple of games, texting, email and surfing the web. I should get roughly 7 to 8 hours of SoT. This is normal for me.
If I were to use Waze or G Maps or have a weather app constantly updating, my SoT would go down pretty quickly. Once GPS is actively being used, the battery tumbles.

I did a full reset the other night and I'm started to disable all apps through TW. Hopefully the problem fixes itself cause so far it's been a little disappointing.

How's your battery life?
I have been getting 5 hours or more consistently. Sometime 6

Best screen protectors for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
[doublepost=1462063982][/doublepost]I still rock my s7 edge completely naked.
After having the S6e and now S7e and trying just about every kind of screen protector, I found none of them work 100% with a case. And when you have an Edge phone, a case is almost mandatory. So, no screen protectors for me and I've never had an issue with my screens.

I have both android and iPhone (currently have S7 and 6S plus)

I am glad android has finally started cracking down and controlling battery life better. But they still allow notorious Facebook app (especially carrier installed Facebook ) to drain battery like crazy unless u disable that.

U can pretty much google Facebook battery drain and major news websites (not just techie sites. But we are talking nbc news abc news even report Facebook battery draining. And this is even after disabling everything on Facebook for me. No notifications.

Of course I have known this about Facebook battery problems since my galaxy nexus days through nexus 6. So I knew pure android had decent battery life without the carrier bloat ware. And I started uninstalling my regular apps and deduced it was Facebook.

I think themes are one of the best things about the S7. They are really super fun.

Interesting. At Easter I traveled out of town to a family dinner using both Google Maps while streaming for over an hour and only lost 9%. I thought that was pretty good. Especially since the screen was on.

I don't understand why people always have trouble with this app. I have never had a battery drain problem with FB on any of the Android phones I have owned and certainly not the S7! It does make large cache files though which annoy me so much that I finally uninstalled it on my iPad. Just took up too much room!

Is the claim of 10 hours of video playback actually true?
Video play back isn't as intensive as gaming or even mobile web browsing

I haven't run full video drain on any of my phones since nexus 5 days. Cause nexus 5 didn't have the best battery even from day 1.

But I ran a 2 hr battery test with movie while I was at 24% and my s7 died around the 1 hour 51 min market (I just wanted to completely drain the battery).

This was wifi on, cellular 5 bars. No Bluetooth no gps. Around 45% brightness

Just got my S7 (reg not Edge), day later cracked the screen. Barely dropped, it is kind of slippery to hold, I managed to fumble it and almost grabbed it but it fell not even a foot to the floor and cracked the screen... talk about fragile. Not even a mark on the sides as you would think at least a dent or soemthing. My S5 took a utter beating even without a slim case thats on it now, and screen never cracked including flying off my lap dozens of times getting out of my truck and forgetting it was on my lap. Case comes today but doesn't help now lol. Friends wife dropped hers as well and it completely shattered.

But for the phone, f'n awesome. 1st time I don't even really care about rooting/rom'ing an Android device. Its so fast and I like new TW, far better then before. Camera/Video is ridicuously good, I cannot believe the pics this phone takes at night and videos. Was just at a rock concert and videos came out super clear and audio was clear as well, not the normal garbled sound you usually hear from recording from a phone. Super super impressed..... just wish the glass was stronger.... be very careful.

Does anyones get pretty warm though? I notice it can get quite warm sometimes using it and I don't play games. Looking online it appears its basically impossible to repair glass on the regular and edge models. Going to get insurance and file a claim as I still have 30 days.

I use greenify, awesome app.

Wow, just went to a birthday party with my kids, it was in one of those fun zones where it's dark and they use black Light. Thought this would be a good opportunity to compare low light video on my iPhone SE with my S7 Edge. Holy crap is the S7 better, it is the champ of low light. Too bad I didn't have my 6S Plus to compare, I gave that to my wife, but in the brief time I had both yesterday, the SE camera was pretty comparable to the 6S plus.
IPhone SE
S7 Edge
I couldnt even tell there was a kid in the video from the iPhone. Just looked like a black screen with a few flashes.
[doublepost=1462125487][/doublepost]
So is there any other Android phone that could take the lead over the Galaxy 7/Edge this year? I really wanted to get the LG G5 but that's a bust now.
No and as of now, i wont be buying another Nexus anytime soon. I dont care about faster updates and the phne just isnt as good as Samsung. I like the extras i get from the Galaxy line and it works on airlines where the Nexus dont because they dont get recognized to watch movies or TV on the plane.

I have both s7 and 6s plus. Give the nod to the s7 as well. But low light 6S is very good.
First pic is from s7. Second pic is from 6s plus in completely dark bedroom
