I have a Note 4 but I still miss:
- flexibility of iMessage for sending pictures/video
- photo app
- overall iOS apps looks nicer than most Android app.
- mail app is better than everything I tried so far on Android (gmail, inbox, cloudmagic)

pros of my Samsuck:
- battery is good
- camera is also good (but I dislike the software). I tried not using samsung's camera app but there is a different in picture quality when I don't use the samsung app. For best results, I need to use the Samsung's app.

cons of my Samsuck:
- when I need to send a picture (which are always too big), I edit them inside gallery, it saves a stupid copy of the picture I just cropped, I open SMS app, send cropped picture, go back to gallery and delete the duplicate it created.
- permissions. There are plenty of old app that doesn't support Marshmallow security model, by default most of them ask for stupid permission (like contact, sms, phone permissions).
- weird things happen when I hold the phone without intentionally using it. Icons are moving to different page and things like that. I have difficulty of holding it without pressing the side power button and then a mess happen.
- bloatware
- several apps for same purpose
- slow update cycle for patches.
- samsung doesn't update touchwiz (still have no theme support on mine) even If I got the marshmallow update yesterday.

I was tempted by the S7, but I would have the same cons as today. Their new messaging apps announced at GoogleIO looked great but it still doesn't integrate SMS, and only a small fraction of people will install it.

Have you tried boxer for email? It's the best email app I've used on Android. Other than that though, there really isn't much to do with your cons list, you should probably switch back to an iPhone either when the 7 comes out or if you can wait until next year's, it's suppose to be a bigger upgrade due to it being the 10th anniversary.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will look into it. I can hold easily until the next iPhone event. At that time, the next Note will also be out and I will be on the lookout to see if some of my issues are fixed or get workarounds.

I've never used Boxer but my go to email app (for my Gmail account) on both iOS and Android is Outlook--something I never expected to say considering who makes it.

Still kind of new to all this, but where do I go to check for updates? This is for the OS and for apps as well.

For OS go to Settings>About Phone>download updates manually.

For apps go to Google play store> top left, the three stacked lines> my apps and games; updates will be listed there.

for those guys with high Android system and os stats in battery consumption I turned off these Qualcomm services and my battery life is way better. I'm at 12% left and will break 5 hours on-screen time and I stayed on LTE with very low signal strength

Don't you have to install Adguard yourself? Why install and then disable it?

Or am I wrong? Just curious.

We're only 6 months in ?? .... im not saying i disagree as is currently, but they should at least announce these things at the end of the year when all devices have been released rather than with 6 months of future products coming ....

Too soon, definitely.

It's like how I've read "best smartphone of 2016" lists within three months of 2016.

theres been a fair bit of praise about the G5 camera too, samsung gets more press yea, but still plenty of g5 praise

And the P9 and the HTC 10. Of course this is just a clickbait article as it is written in April so these aren't included. It only exists to cause debate and get a rise out of people and get page views. Exactly why jamezr posted it. Exactly in the spirit of MacRumors and most tech media as a whole honestly.
