Where did you read that the future Gear VR will have its own display? I don't recall seeing that anywhere. And I think the only reason to put 4K into a smartphone display right now is specifically for VR, as 4K is unnecessary overkill in a smartphone not used for VR.

This isn't where I read it from but it's one of the first links that popped up from a Google search. And I agree with you about the overkill in the s8.

Not trying to one up anyone but this is what you can get with the exynos variant of the s7 edge ... I bet I can probably hit the 8-9 hour mark if I really wanted to by limiting screen brightness. Amazing device and I've been an iPhone fanboy since the beginning. Never again! Now a Sammy fanboy

This is awesome: http://www.droid-life.com/2016/06/06/best-car-mount-galaxy-s7-s7-note-5-spigen/

A magnetic car mount that works directly with Galaxy phones without needing to put that magnetic strip adhesive on the back of your phone. It just came in, and it works like a charm.

Only $7 bucks! And you don't have to deal with clamps or other weird car dock/mount setups.

I've always wondered if magnetic car mounts affect anything with the device like GPS.

Would anyone know?

I looked into that before my purchase and the answer is no one seems to really know for sure, but it doesn't seem to be an issue. It can affect the compass, but GPS doesn't rely entirely on the compass, so that should be fine.

I'll report back if I have issues. I'll be testing it this weekend in the car.

Samsung Behold II and the Galaxy S3.

Not sure I follow. How did they damage Android? Because they were bad phones? (There have been a plethora of bad phones in Android's lifetime!). I don't see how the ones from Samsung damaged Android that badly.

Besides, wasn't the S3 the best selling Samsung Galaxy device, too? So again, if anything, I was under the impression Samsung played a significant role in increasing Android's popularity. Not damaging it.

Regardless, how old are those two phones? Many years old now. Samsung is no longer the same Samsung it was when those were their phones. But fair enough.

I can confirm this car dock is awesome. It goes into one of your air vent bars. It's snug, secure, and the magnet is solid. My s7 edge didn't detach from any bumpy roads or anything. Very convenient and easy to use. You just hop in your car and clamp your s7 edge on it. And it sticks. You can adjust, and it's great.

And using the screen is reliable too. Ok Google can be heard, it gets texts, makes calls, navigates. All good. Easy to see, easy to use.

Get it.

Read my above post. I recommend it. I had no issues using it tonight in the car. Did navigation, did calls.

I love it actually. Very convenient.

Texas is too damn hot to lose one air vent for this type of set up! :)

I do love the idea though and I always just set my phone down on the passenger seat or an awkward spot in my SUV which isn't ideal and this seems like a great solution.

Same here...it's been in the 100s here in AZ this past week. I need all the air flow in can get from my vents!
I use one of the cup holders in my truck to hold my phone.

I'm still shocked Samsung is regarded as #1 most trusted company amongst millennials. And that Apple isn't even on the list.

Seriously, how did that happen? How is Apple not even on the list? Makes me question the validity or method of the poll/research. But all articles I read regarding the finding says it's a reputable research source.

Isn't this a big turnaround in the public perception of Samsung, who a few years ago had to battle the image that they're just copy cats? They still are battling it, but their latest tech and various accomplishments are slowly washing away the stigma.

But to this degree? #1? And without Apple on the list?

Just... peculiar.

I suppose Samsung make such a wide range of products it's bound to have a larger outreach. I would imagine there are more Samsung products in homes than Apple worldwide. Even my kitchen worktop is made by Samsung and so is my fridge and three of the televisions in my home. Touch wood they make very reliable products in my experience. Then again so do Apple based on my personal usage. If somebody stopped me in the street and asked me to name the best brands I had bought, they would be among them.

That's a good point. Samsung has home appliances and televisions. The TV's are especially popular. My TV is LG, though. ;) And yeah, same here. When it comes to computing, I'm Apple and Macs all the way. From iMacs, to MacBooks, to my Thunderbolt display, and even all the peripherals, like Airport Extreme, etc. And when I pluralize iMacs and MacBooks, that's intentional. We own multiple.

Just shocked Apple didn't make the list. Especially amongst millennials (by definition, around ages 18-34). I wonder if the Apple branding is wavering...? Samsung #1, and Apple not even on the list? Like I said, it's so shocking that it just seems weird.

Yeah my main television is an LG 50". I'm PC all the way though in computing with an admiration for my wife's Mac's but they don't suit my needs sadly.

Not sure if the brand is wavering as it's still so evidently popular, at least in the uk and Europe. I don't understand the scoring on the list but if it's right then I am stunned too.

I've just spent last month deciding between a 43" 2016 HDR capable 4K TV. Was stuck between two models an LG and a curved Samsung. It was literally the hardest tech decision I've made in years. As I've only placed the order last few days and the TV isn't released till 21st June, I'm still in two minds as to whether I've picked the right one. (I ordered the Samsung)
