We have a older LG smart 55" and a Samsung 40". Both are good but I do want a 4k TV. I'm going to wait another year or so, quantum dot sounds interesting and hopefully oled TV become a bit more affordable. Whatever we do get next, it'll be 4k.
I want to get a new monitor too, my Dell is over ten years old, still works perfect but 24" looks small these days.

I've just spent last month deciding between a 43" 2016 HDR capable 4K TV. Was stuck between two models an LG and a curved Samsung. It was literally the hardest tech decision I've made in years. As I've only placed the order last few days and the TV isn't released till 21st June, I'm still in two minds as to whether I've picked the right one. (I ordered the Samsung)
My LG claims to upscale to 4K but I've never tested it. The picture is awesome and good enough for the next 7 years if it lasts as well as the Samsung it replaced. :)

LG OLED ftw. I bought a 4K LG OLED 65E6P and it's the best TV I've ever seen. And the reviews agree too...

This isn't where I read it from but it's one of the first links that popped up from a Google search. And I agree with you about the overkill in the s8.

SAMSUNG'S SECOND GEAR VR MAY BE A STANDALONE WIRELESS HEADSET
NO NEED TO INSERT YOUR GALAXY PHONE OR TABLET

The current VR looks like a PlayStation 1. I mean it's cool and all but releasing a standalone unit would make more sense than using my cellphone. 4K on a smartphone makes sense if you use it as a VR device but seriously overkill on battery life and a waste IMO. I'd prefer a standalone model just for playing with VR stuff.

Good times we live in!

I'm not willing to pay OLED money right now. Cheapest here is around €2500+ for OLED which for me is too much for a TV especially as 75% of the content broadcast here is still SD

Yes if use a Gmail account as the account your adding calendar events to, both on the iPhone and S-Planner, then they will work on both.

S-Planner will default to a Samsung account when adding events, so you will have to go into its settings and make sure you change default calendar account to Gmail. Similar on iPhone.

Once that's done events will sync on all calendars.

Where do you live?

South West of Ireland. Get most of my TV via FreeSat and other than handful of UK main channels like. BBC1,2,4 ITV, C5, C4, BBC News which are broadcast on Freesat in HD (1080i HD broadcasts are here - note i not p) the remaining 70+ channels on Freesat are all Standard Definition.

So default calendar needs to be done on my iPhone? Will you check the settings

Now that is the TV to own! Nice going, I am jealous. Hanging on to my Panny Plasma as long as possible. But I am getting the itch for this TV for sure.

Go into settings.

Down to mail, contacts and calendar.

The scroll down to the calendar section of that sub menu and you will see 'default calendar'.

Click on that and choose your google calendar.

Any new entries will now automatically be put in to your Google calendar and synced with Android.

Would it need to be a gmail one or can it be a yahoo account for example?

Cheers bud

Supposedly root has just been achieved on the Sprint S7 Edge. The guy says all U.S. SD820 S7's should be able to be rooted once he releases his method, whenever that is.

But, XDA people saying this could possibly be a short lived thing if patched by carriers right away.

On

If and once root is released for the T-Mobile S7 Edge, I'll upgrade immediately.
