Yep, and it doesn't matter how long the document is. You'll just have to zoom in more the longer it gets, but it gets the whole document (or until you stop and don't click "Capture More" anymore).

Does Nougat have this feature?

No, this is a touchwiz feature that started on the Note 4 I believe and then brought out to other Samsung phones.

Though I haven't tried that feature yet, it is why I like Samsung Galaxy's better than Nexus phones. All the little added features, to name one thing. I use the split window feature a lot as well.

That sucks. I like the feature. Now that I've discovered it, I might use it more, too.

Not to mention they've really cornered the market on ergonomic phablets. No other way could you get these screen sizes into such small footprints without edge panels.

In comparison, the iPhone plus and other phablets are embarrassingly large. If your remember, this used to be the complaint from Apple users who thought phablets were too big!

Samsung figured out how to go big by going back to small.

Yeah i stopped using iPhones years ago. Just not impressed anymore as they are far behind the ball now.

I figured I would do a quick post with some comparison shots between JPEG and Edited RAW taken with the S7E. Without the RAW capabilities, my satisfaction with the Camera would be a lot lower than it is now.

The majority of these were edited directly on the phone using LightRoom Mobile so they may be slightly too vibrant while a lot of others were edited on desktop and are more colour correct for the scene. As I didn't post the full size shots, you aren't fully able to see the benefits in having the ability to sharpen the image to your taste instead of letting Samsung overdo it with Auto mode. I don't think I could purchase a smartphone without raw capabilities anymore unless the Auto mode was beyond perfect.

As someone who doesn't know anything about photography, those differences look quite big. Is it worthwhile me turning on raw images?

Only if you have the software and know how to process them afterwards. If you don't have Aperture / Lightroom or Photoshop etc.. then there is little point. What you could do is install something like Google Snapseed which is far better post processing options and enhancements than the stock apps.

You all are making me hungry for sushi, talking about RAW.

In looking at those RAW vs processed photos, RAW looks more blurry and missing more detail to me. I take it I'm looking at some form of processed results and not true RAW?

The only adjustments made were increasing shadows to 100 and reducing highlights by 100. Vibrance was set to 20. I didn't apply any sharpening to those images and only did very slight noise reduction.

RAW images are saved with zero noise reduction and sharpening applied, that is the beauty of RAW files as you are able to apply sharpening and noise reduction to your own taste in post processing. The main thing I wanted to show with those images is the dynamic range the sensor is capable of providing.

What aspects of the JPEG shots do you like better than the RAW shots? A lot of the post processing you can do to RAW images is heavily dependent upon personal taste but that is in my opinion one of the beauties of it.

Instead of being reliant upon code an engineer wrote for a specific type of picture being taken, I have the oppurtunity to adjust the image based on my needs and wants. Beyond the usual adjustments to bring out the shadows and reduce blown out highlights, the rest of the adjustments can turn a dull image into an eye popping image or vice versa. The power behind LightRoom and RAW images in general is quite phenomenal and best of all there is countless resources online to facilitate the learning of such a useful program.

The only true downside is the storage requirements with a typical RAW file on the S7E being 23mb in size compared to a regular JPEG at around 3-5mb. The resultant JPEG after post processing a RAW file and exporting it at 100% quality comes out to be roughly 8-10mb in size.

In all the hubbub with the Note 7 recall, I didn't even notice that wifi calling has now been enabled on my S7. I did get an update right when I reactivated it after shutting down my Note 7 on fri, so not sure if it came then.

This is the AT&T S7, so if you have one, grab the update, wifi calling is great.

Now, the S7 and S7 Edge are being featured in the news like the Note 7. Can people actually tell if my S7 is danger? I think if people are making up BS, it's a cruel joke.

There's people I've encountered in day to day activities who view all Samsung devices as the "exploding" devices. It's just the inherent nature of clueless consumers with no accurate source of information. I have also noticed a decrease in the resale value of the S7 and S7E since the Note 7 debacle hit the news. I haven't put my S7E up for sale yet as I'm waiting to do a complete comparison between with the 7+ once I receive it this Friday. The resale on Samsung's phones is already quite bad and as of recently I have lost more than 30% of the value of my S7E and I fear it will only continue getting worse with more and more reports of exploding devices.

I am about to put my S7 up for resale soon. Working on getting a brand new one from Samsung at the very least. If not, I would take my carrier's offer for a replacement and then sell that one. I am on the verge of ordering an iPhone 7+. It might not have all the S7 features, but I do know that I will have less headaches. Though that S8 itch will be tough to ignore. Apple's 14 day return period will come in handy. I also need to get into a payment plan for 24 months since I cannot afford to drop $869+ on a phone. I might stay with a 128gb model again, but 32gb is doable, not easy, but it's doable.

Yeah, that S8 itch will soon be niggling at our heels (Dec/Jan when the rumor mill goes mental once again)

Samsung scare all started when flight started to ban using it when boarding.. treating it like a ticking time bomb...

All horror stories came out when iphone7 is about release...

I'm actually really enjoying my S7 experience. Thankfully I have no heating issues or performance issues with my exynos dual sim variant. The device lasts me a good 5-6 hours SOT over 24-36 hours and it's been a genuine delight to use.

The fact screen protectors fit perfectly also means I'm less worried about it and so just use it rather than 'mind' it, which I found myself doing with the S7e.

Also I'm glad I opted for white. It really does hide any fingerprints the glass picks up and the silver Samsung logo almost dissapers. The dual sim variant I have also has no printing on the back of the device other than Samsung. It's very minimal looking.

The only thing left for the year is the Pixel announcement. Other than that, I'm actually really excited about the S8. My interest has grown especially since the Note 7 and iPhone 7 releases. For example, I can't wait to see the S8 implement the Note 7's more refined edge screen. I'm also looking forward to seeing what kind of improvements to the IRIS scanner experience they can make. And from the iPhone 7 influence, I'm looking forward to a new home button (capacitive, I hope), dual speakers (front firing would be a bonus), and for them to continue pushing the camera experience even further (this may or may not require a dual camera).

Once again, competition is good for all.

And given the Note 7 debacle, it should hopefully make Samsung more careful about their production for the S8. As you mentioned in another thread, the S8 will be pushed heavily to make up for the Note 7. Aside from typical and minor launch issues, Samsung should oversee the S8 launch with a very careful eye. I also predict we'll see some amazing deals and incentives. I don't mean to put it this way, but the Note 7 mistake will make for a better S8 release both in the production and QC-ing of the phone, and in the deals. Heck, there's already a rumor that they'll release the S8 a little earlier than usual.

We shall see how Samsung turns it around in 2017.

The year has really flown by...

Indeed.

It's a beautiful design, isn't it? And very practical. It's a shame Samsung appears to be moving away from flat non-edge displays entirely. I appreciate that they did a fabulous job with the Note 7 displays but someone really needs to work out the screen protector situation. Their flat designs actually do very well at minimizing the look of the side bezels.
