All I can say is that I'm currently typing this on my 6s and can't wait to get my S7E back from the screen repair. After that I'll be using a sturdier case with it. I have a Spigen Rugged Armor waiting and I've also considered an Otterbox Strada. I'd like to hear also other good suggestions if someone has them :)

Must been painful, you only had it 2weeks. The Spigen should be good :) IMO.

I am using a Pure.Gear Clear Case, never used this brand before, but so far so good.

It sure was. I was surprised how returning to the iPhone felt so frustrating so soon. Unlike with my Nexus 5X, the 6s doesn't have such a performance edge compared to the S7E that iOS limitations wouldn't matter.

As the end of the year approaches, I have to say again, props to Samsung for the S7 Edge. For me, the S7E is the smartphone of the year. There have been attempts, but it cannot be dethroned in my book.

The camera experience, the screen, the form factor, waterproofing and wireless charging, the design; all winners on the hardware side. And on the software side, a lovely combination of TouchWiz's useful features and Marshmallow's speed and stability.

Leading class hardware and great software. These things put together, the S7 Edge has been the most worry-free phone I've ever used. Kudos to Samsung. Can't wait to see what they have in store for the S8.

Same for me. Especially now that I've decided the Pixel is a pass. So funny that I joined Jump on Demand to upgrade throughout the year, and yet haven't upgraded at all.

lol...that is funny! I might be jumping back to a S7 Edge this weekend. Rumor has it the coral blue S7e will be at TMO tomorrow. I think Nougat on the S7 and S7e will be awesome!

It'd be nice if Nougat hits before the end of the year. Not holding my breath though.

Seriously thinking about picking one of these up since my Nexus 6p is totally unreliable. This morning I had a bootloop after rebooting because Google now didn't respond and I was not receiving alert sounds. twrp failed to load or I could only get into the bootloader. Finally I tried to load up tools from the bootloader menu and my phone booted.

Anyone know if the coral blue option of the s7e has the newer note 7 design?

I doubt they did anything with the design, they just added a new colour to it.

Remember, part of what is said to have made the Note7s explode, was the design. Samsung, AFAIK, are STILL investigating what caused the Note7 to explode.

I figured the design would be the same. Didn't hurt to ask though. :)

I'd hate to ditch the Nexus 6p but it's hard to trust it. I wonder if it's because it tried to do the ota on the reboot and I'm rooted but twrp didn't load, just stuck at the splash screen.

I use Google keyboard. Never experience lag. Are you talking about the stock TouchWiz keyboard?

That used to be my favourite but they messed with it too much so at the beginning of 2016 I switched to SwiftKey.

How is Google Keyboard now?

I said I'd never get another Samsung device....

Picked up a coral blue s7 edge tonight after work tonight to replace my problematic nexus 6p after my soft keys decided to stop working for the whole day. I'm in the process of getting things set up.

Right now the sprint bloat is being pushed to my device (wheee!)

So far I really like the way the device feels in hand. Feels a lot better then my Nexus.

I don't plan on rooting. Just use as is. Which will be a new experience. My Nexus device will be my tinker devices. The s7e my daily driver since it's clear my Nexus 6p is not up to the task. It's having touch screen issues as I typed this out.

Touch issues on your 6P or S7e ?

On the 6p.
I enabled show touches in the dev options and the very bottom of my screen where the soft keys are don't show the touches. On the home screen as well as the lock screen. I'm hoping its software but its probably hardware. I had the issue once before but it fixed itself after booting into safe mode.

Its too late to RMA the nexus and I got it from Amazon anyway (sold and shipped from Amazon).

The s7 edge so far...
So far the battery in the s7e has been good, only got the charge to 80-85 % before work today and its down to high 40s low 50% after texting light browsing then updates of apps when I got home.

The color is very nice almost chromeish in the right light. Its slick but manageable I'm not sure about a clear case for it.

I get occasional false touches mostly in the play store, which does have the tendency to crash. I think its just settling.

Its a bit strange not to have root. Ads have been relatively tame but I have not done a whole lot of browsing. I do feel cramped already about the limited storage, I'm waiting to get a fresh SD card before I take many photos and videos.

I'm using the Sammy keyboard and stock launcher. No nova prime yet.

I do fear breaking this phone while in my pocket at work, or dropping it. Not sure a case would be much help.

I think I found the first device I might jump to. Supposed to be glossier than the Note 7 black onyx color, similar to the iPhone's.

Gotcha! New Glossy Black version of the Galaxy S7 edge leaked in its full glory, looks stunning

I love the all black frame.

Too bad the Samsung logo isn't all black too. Or at least a darker shade.

Side note: I know Samsung often releases new colors down the road, but boy are they leaning really heavily on the s7 and s7 edge. Sad that they have no choice and nothing else thanks to the Note 7 debacle. It was their year to lose. Sad for them, sad for the customers.

That is nice! Wish the logo was all black or gone!
