TIL..... unless you buy Apple products, you are "third world" or a geek (I guess these are one in the same). Only the affluent can buy Apple.

what the ffffffuuuuuu

Very few leaks are leaks ....

It's an outdated term, but hard to change people's usage since it's so mainstream. Realistically, it is an intentional information disclosure.

Who said that? Maybe I just ignored comments pertaining to the iPhone. Funny thing is that the 5S costs $150 brand new from some prepaid resellers, so it is accessible to everyone. The 5C costs $150-$200 refurb unlocked online too. Same with the 5 too.

Cant see the S7 selling more handsets than the S6 looking like that and we all know the S6 was a failure even in Samsungs eyes.

Lets hope their mid range phones are good enough to carry the companies profits once again.

This really shows off the backside of what I believe is the regular S7. You can really see where the extra 1.1 millimeter is going.

I like it.

I wonder why the metal framing isn't also gold, like on the gold S6.

Maybe just the rendering...

Hopefully this is the beginning of the end to the race to the thinnest. Nobody is saying bring back super thick phones. Until new battery tech solves the issue of battery size. OEM need to provide ample battery for all day heavy use.

I'm really liking what I'm seeing on the S7 edge. I may just make the jump from a long string of iPhones for this.

With the rumor that Apple's iPhone 7 is going to get even thinner, I don't think the trend will end.

Do you ever think that we'll see a phone where leaks are 100% controlled? In other words, when a phone is announced, everything that they announce is new to us?
It is probably not possible, unless a company can build every component inside a top secret facility until release day.

One of the main reasons I'm jumping to the S7 Edge. 3600mA battery on a smaller 5.5" screen. Will 9-10 hours of SOT become the norm? Hope so.

That's probably being very optimistic as we don't know how hungry the 820 and GPU will be, I think if it matches current Note 5 / Edge Plus - I think it would be about what I expect, so 5-6 SOT hopefully.

Very improbable, but not impossible. Some companies keep leaks at a minimum. For instance, I don't remember seeing any leaked images or specs from the OnePlus 2. Only teasers from OnePlus themselves. If companies can push it a little further, I think that somebody could achieve it.

Plus don't forget the Always on screen. That'll affect battery life too, no doubt. Hopefully it can be turned off?

Can 3d touch be turned off?

If it's like the iPhone, you'll forget it's there anyway tbh.
I hardly use 3D Touch, but since iOS 9.3 beta, hard pressing and getting a shortcut strait to my Bluetooth settings has been a god send because the Bluetooth in my car doesn't connect automatically, I have to connect manually. Hopefully they can do some other useful things with it.

Lol ... Didn't even know about that one ... :)

The always on screen was quoted to be very minimal on the battery. Don't recall the exact stats but it was something like 5% after 24 hours? I had it on the Moto X and it didn't drain the battery much at all over the day.
I'm not worried about the always on screen. I'm more worried about how the Edge screen will effect battery life.

820 is supposed to be 30% more efficient over the 810 as I remember reading about it. Considering I get 5-6 hours SOT on the Edge+ with a bigger screen, a 600mah smaller battery and more power hungry components, I would expect at least a couple more hours SOT with the S7 Edge.

5% after 24h would be a huge improvement, even without the always-on display. One of the things that annoys me about my S6 Edge+ is the standby time. It always drains at least 1% an hour, sometimes as much as 3%. This may not seem like much, but this sort of drain is what gets the phone from 21% to 9% overnight. Waiting on Doze to improve this, but I've been waiting for Marshmallow for 4 months now.

Well, I think the 5% loss is directly attributed to the always on feature, so that would be on top of whatever standby drain there was from everything else running on the phone.

5% after 24 hours is not much tbh. But I hear you about standby battery drain on android phones. I am still waiting for marshmallow on my N5 too!

Count me in as well going to Best Buy day one when they are on display but I am happy with my s6 edge +. At least I hope I will continue to be afterwards. :)

Looking at the leaks, maybe the edge is the better choice. Its really not that much bigger.

Samsung is really killing it when it comes to screen size versus actual device size. The note 5 is beautifully ergonomic. I imagine the s7 edge will be too.

Then you have that insane 3600 mah battery.

Might be a hard decision.
