I have no issues with FB on any of my other devices, it's made no perceivable difference on my 6P / Z5 / Moto X etc. It is a heavyish app (100-150mb ram usage normally) and I have used Metal (a spin off of Tinfoil) but it's just not the perfect solution. I manage a number of business Facebook pages for clients too and so Facebook and Facebook Pages Manager sadly aren't going anywhere for me.

I won't be changing music apps as I have my Google Play Music unlimited account and Google even removed the deactivation limits it enforces on my account because they could see i go through so many devices that I soon hit the deactivation limit multiple times. GPM is my go to app for all music now on iOS and Android.

Really though, I shouldn't need to have to ditch apps in order to eek out enough ram performance from any mobile device in 2016, especially as my 2015 handsets current are handling them without issue. If I had to find workarounds it would leave me more frustrated than the issue in the first instance and just remind me the issue exists in the first instance. So yeah that's not really a workable solution for me.

I'm holding onto hope that the Erica Griffin video earlier, the issue arises after she launched the game. I would love to know if she had launched a couple of non games instead would they have stayed in memory. If they did - that would be workable for me. I really want the 7 Edge, I do find it aesthetically the best mobile device out there, so yeah hence the inner conflict Samsung now force upon me :)

Ah okay, with that in mind then I take back what I wrote. You're right, cutting corners just to pawn off the dirty work to consumers isn't fair. But that's the new cost of Samsung products tbh. Now that it is somewhat respectable from the extra GB of RAM plus the video supporting some apps being open, I guess I can ignore it. Sure, it will be tough giving up the iOS RAM management, like another user stated, but it has to be done to get the new Edge screen features, better battery life, water resistance, etc.

Sod it .... I've ordered a black S7 edge from Amazon ....

I blame you all ...

Only about time. Welcome to the waiting club. We have some whiskey in the left corner there or some fine beers in the right corner. Enjoy!

Thanks. Think I'll go with the black since the gold and silver are too darn reflective for my tastes. Too much bling! Looks like it could be distracting especially in a bright environment.

Now I am thinking I should've gone black lol.

Nothing brings me more joy (not sure if that is the right word) then reading the reaction when these articles hit macrumors front page. This guys actually refuted that is really not that big of a deal because he doesn't look at his iPhone display. lol

https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-to-oled-iphones.1957871/page-5#post-22601274

For a long time, the iPhone and its retina screen was regarded as the best screen on the market. And that was a big deal. Many argued it was enough to make an iPhone an easy buy. And I agree/agreed. iPhone was top of its class in many areas. Now that they're beat on that department, we get people back-peddling. "Who needs that much DPI?" etc etc.

Same can be said about the camera.

Heck, same can be said of the iPhone entirely. We never had any problem calling the iPhone the best smartphone on the market. We did so for years. Myself, tech journalists, the general public. But now if we say Samsung or anyone else is the best, we get so many arguments about what constitutes getting such a title. Or is it perfect? (When did we say the iPhone had to be perfect to be the best at the time?) Or the argument that there's no such thing as "best" anymore; it's just people's preferences, etc. Suddenly it's taboo to use the word "best" when it describes another phone.

: shrug : Oh well.

Are those in automatic mode or pro mode? I ask because I can get a similar shot on my Note if I slow the shutter speed. If that's in automatic then in pro mode you can take even better shots if you have the time to set up.

This is brutal. I hope the IPhone 7 will at least be able to catch up in low light

Don't trust everything a marketing team puts out ...

(They have an invested interest to make the competition look bad)

....
Updated with better video ..

Re : multitasking for those that were asking me earlier what apps i have. I just did a quick check on my Moto X Force of apps currently running / backgrounded and I have 16 here currently and there is nothing extraordinary about them. But likewise absolutely no trouble multitasking between them without refreshing. Here's a quick fly through ...

Ignore the crappy video quality though ;)

This is with the Moto X Force which has 3gb ram ..

Their source is actually the Erica Griffin video i posted earlier and they claim that's an improvement .... ? They are certainly taking a 'glass half full' perspective on that video, even compared to Erica herself.

Yes, it is, but it gives a little more context about Hearthstone. As she is a famous YouTuber, I would hope she learns that not to use such a graphic intensive game to demonstrate the RAM. Instead, Candy Crush, Chess, or stuff like that could get the job done. I don't game on my phone even though I have apps in a folder lol.

Pre-ordered a gold S7 Edge from T-Mobile, will play around with it and see how it goes when it's here. Couldn't pass up the free Gear VR and year of Netflix pre-order offer.

Did the same thing today, except in silver and got the free overnight shipping. Weird thing is, I already have a shipping number via UPS on my T-Mobile account webpage? I'm not getting my hopes up though. Doubt its valid. No way in hell, Samsung is shipping them out this early.

You know !I just can't stand looking at the beautiful phones. It makes me want to sell of my 6 and get the Edge.Dammit Sammy why you made em so beautiful.
I seriously doubt Apple can match the designs and the bezels of these phones in the 7 and it looks ugly in comparison
