Fast moving pace again ... I like it. Previews are going to make it hard waiting another week to see who makes back into the wall safely and with a walker . Littlefinger is playing with danger against Arya. I really was surprised with the confrontation between Sensa and Arya. Not the loving sister bonds they once had.
I liked Jon petting the dragon. I hope he learns about his heritage and rides a dragon before the season ends.

I was surprised that Jon didn't stop at winterfell on his way to the wall. That seemed out of character for him. Unless perhaps East Watch was closer and that is where he went.

What did the note say that Arya stole?

Petting the dragon was awesome :D. The CGI is just beyond belief. Truly amazing.

I record the series so I'll watch each episode a few times during week and see things I missed. Do the same routine with TWD.

Robb, I write to you with a heavy heart. Our good king Robert is dead, killed from wounds he took in a boar hunt. Father has been charged with treason. He conspired with Robert’s brothers against my beloved Joffrey and tried to steal his throne. The Lannisters are treating me very well and provide me with every comfort. I beg you: come to King’s Landing, swear fealty to King Joffrey and prevent any strife between the great houses of Lannister and Stark.

Little Finger is stirring discord....!

Season 7: Episode 4, Spoils of War- Holy crap! What an episode... pure dragon awesomeness. :D
So, I assume Jamie lost his army? I don't have a good sense of how bad this loss hurt the Lanisters.

Another fantastic episode... I'm still in shock from Gilly's bombshell of a discovery.:eek:

Silent bombshell, unless Sam was listening more closely than it seemed. That, plus Gendry's observation that Jon isn't tall like Ned was, and Jon's touching scene with the dragon (OK, so he gets on well with direwolves, too). And we get a long glance at Dany contemplating Jon the Dragon Soother. The trail of breadcrumbs is getting thicker and thicker. Another episode or two, and the breadcrumbs may morph to full-size loaves!

Yeah, Eastwatch is a straight sail up the East Coast from Dragonstone, while Winterfell is maybe 200 miles inland. Besides, if Jon showed up there, it would have defused all the brewing tensions. We need a couple more episodes of Royal absentia for the Wolfshead Ale to reach full strength.

I know they are past the books, but Sansa and Arya really never had a close and loving relationship well at least in the books. Sansa was always the most standoffish one or to put it nicely wanted to be proper and royal (to be Queen). Arya wanted to be like her brothers thus the tomboyish personification. The characters are at least more in line with the books now even though they are well past them like I said.

Like someone mentioned, Eastwatch is right on the water. Jon was able to sail directly to it. Winterfell isn't along the way. It would have been a detour and Jon doesn't have time for that.

15,782 shites! i burst out laughing.

Felt for Sam, he seems to always get the short-end of the straw.

Jon petting Drogon is a huge foreshadowing. I also lost it when Dany realised she had a 'soft spot' for Jon with her 'permission' line. She is clearly lonely. Good thing Jorah came...although swiftly left again.

Wasn't really impressed with Cersei getting knocked up again. Felt cheap to me, but i guess its needed for motivation to keep going after the last setback.

Overall probably my favorite episode thus far this season.

I'm setting the over under on "number of days baby L lives" at 1.5

One can only hope.
I hope not. The child should not pay for the sins of the parent.

I think a miscarriage (brought on by some misdeed of Cersei's) is a possibility, but I also like the notion of the orphaned child being raised by Uncle Tyrion. If Daenerys can spring from the Mad King, there's hope even for Cersei's baby. Then again, maybe sister is lying to Jaime to hold his wavering loyalty, or the pregnancy is real, and is part of Cersei's motive for accepting an armistice and joining the Battle for the Living - she needs to buy time to bring her child to term.

I hope Arya kills Littlefinger but I think the Vale will remove support for House Stark if so. And I really hope Tormund nor Sir Jorah die in the expedition! Can't believe we're two episodes left :(

Exactly. Even in the series, if you go back to season one, you'll see they had completely different interests and did not share with each other.

There will be a showdown between Arya and Littlefinger. Sansa will take his side.

Pity Sam wasn't paying attention. But it is bound to come up again somehow.

And following that line (which seems very logical) Arya will leave Winterfell (presumably to try to complete her List). I can see her trudging off into the snow during the cliffhanger episode.

The Reunion of the Starks was not destined to last long. Most likely, it'll end before Jon can join the party. Brienne may be faced with a dilemma over which Stark daughter to protect (and she's gone too long without a real battle).

Thanks for this. My head was definitely somewhere else while watching last night. I had to go back into my brain for my "ahhh" moment. :)
[doublepost=1502732498][/doublepost]Big question for me ... did Gilly take with her the book she was reading to Sam?????? Proof of Jons linage perhaps :)
[doublepost=1502733707][/doublepost]
Will he abandon the Nights Watch as well?
I hope not. He has Gully and Sam, and they'll need a safe place. And he also hasn't heard about his father and brother getting the dragon breath of death.
[doublepost=1502733766][/doublepost]Why are my postings merging????

There are tons of great and memorable characters in this show. I thought there were 10 episodes per season. Now I know why my Show App only shows 7... :(

Winterfell is a very long way inland, and the North is snowbound. They wouldn't have had time.

The note looked to be a report of Jon's death at the hands of the Night's Watch.

EDIT : Just watched the scene again. It's the note that Cersei made Sansa write to Robb before Eddard Stark was beheaded, where she said she loved Joffrey and urged Robb to come to King's Landing and bend the knee.

My Big OMG™ this episode was Gilly's throwaway mention of the annulment, which has MASSIVE implications. I notice the child had the record book too. If Sam and Gilly reach Winterfell with that.....

Oh yeah, and Drogon KNOWS. He can smell it

Agreed, but the Cersei/Jamie's incest children plot line just feels 'tired' to me.

But you're probably right in that Tyrion will end up raising it.

Yeah, the incest children plot line may feel tired to us, but it's been no more than a dirty rumor around Westeros. If Cersei actually does go public with this, the reaction around King's Landing might be worth viewing. For that matter, Euron Greyjoy may not take too kindly to it; hell hath no fury like a Euron scorned!

Extinction of Great Houses (or not-so-great, in the case of the Freys) is also feeling tired. Well, extinction in general. Since it's time for the Living to rise up against the Dead, shouldn't there be enough Living left to win the war?

I don't see much of a dilemma for Brienne as she has seen that Arya is more than able to protect herself.
