Awww MontyZ, didn't you get an invite. I'm only sober 'cause it's Sunday avo here and I can't be [expletive deleted] pressing a dress and going into the city. Oh a couple of Tall Blondes would go down a treat though.

Yeah. Mac's and alcohol - an explosive combiation..

While on the topisc of alcohol, what is your fav drink - alcoholic or non-alcoholic.

I am a vodka man myself. Not really a wine or beer drinker (although Kirin's icibanshibori is a nice drop). Also like rum in summer (Malibu, or a nice Mohito)

On the non-alcoholic side I would say sparkling mineral water (not Perrier though - just don't like it for some reason). I am not a tea or coffee drinker (I really hate the taste so that included tiramisu, coffee chocolates, etc...) and I used to drink way to much soda, so sparkling water is what I's drinking. Flat water just doesn't do it for me.

Well, I'm not a big drinker, I normally prefer mind-altering substances of a different kind. But, when I do booze it up, I like tequila. It's the most kind to me the next day, and gives me a very pleasing, long-lasting buzz.

I'd ask how big you are (big drinker) but then, I'd have to moderate myself. :D

Yes, but I might have to throw you down and have my way with you, and then buy you a drink.

Hey Neil, Looks like you and I may be the only sober ones here. Emo'll be back before too long I guess. And meantimes I guess it's business as usual, If Paul's right just the usual outpourings, and not enough sex, drugs or sarcasm for him. How'd the IR photographs come out? Been looking at a .Mac of Zaid's to run the raunchy stuff on, but one or two hiccups to see to. Lee or Zaid may have more info. Ah well time for a tea I think (5.20pm Sunday in NZ)

The Macophot didnt turn out, the Kodak HIE did turn out.
I so far have only gotten the contact sheet for the Kodak.
So it was $17 for the Kodak HIE, Developing and contact sheet lets say $20
so the tab is $37 so far. For my midterm assignment I chose 3 of the IR images to have blown up to 11x17 and will mount each on a board for presentation. The cost of the enlargements is $25 each print for total $75 not including whatever the cost will be for mounting supplies which I will have to do myself. So the tab is $112 so far (OUCH!)for one assignment.

Im thinking about dropping out of this school for many a reason, but $ being high on the list. I have spent close to if not over $1k on supplies alone for this one class and I am only half way though the semester.

The image is a scan of a sago Palm tree (How typical, right) from the contact sheet.
So please excuse the roughness of the image
I havent made any regular 4x6 prints of any of the images, because that would be $7.50 each print for each image since they have to hand develop the IR prints and cant run the neg. through a machine, and I have spent enough for now on this one assignment

Sorry for my ranting and whining

I was looking for my new thread and typed "page in page out" in the search bar and got this thread. Hmmm 'Gays' and 'In and Out', I don't really see the connection but it came up top of the list.

Anyhoo while I'm here, I was wondering if there were any transexuals forum members. Why?. No reason.

Sobriety or not

MontyZ, For a change I can honestly say I haven't had a drink since Wednesday last. Kind of screws with my medications, but I did have two Tall Blondes then. It's an organic beer brewed by 'Founders' here in NZ. A great summer ale, and they do a near stout / porter called a Long Black, great in winter, And for an option there is a Red Head to round out the triumvirate. In the spirit line I've been known to quaff a dram or three of Chivas Regal. To avoid temptation I don't keep alcohol at home, so I may just have to resort to an alternative substance.

Grau, teuer Freund, ist alle Theorie
Und grun des Lebens goldner Baum.

All theory, dear friend, is grey;
But the precious tree of life is green.

As I usually have an alternative nightcap, it tends to give me a good night's sleep and not too many heavy dreams.

Neil, I really like the composition and the infra red does give it, it's own character. Any idea what went wrong with the macophot?

I really must get back to my art and photography, but I'm such a bloody procrastinator. The therapy aspect alone should be a motivator, but I've lost interest in damn near everything at present.

It's difficult to find rye whiskey in Thailand. So I have to settle for highland scotch and a cute transsexual!
Sometimes the transsexual will bring a girlfriend. Now that's a good time also! ;)

huh, i'm convoluted when tossed. i guess my point was, if the thread gets shut down, and people start trashing the mods/MR as being unaccepting, I'm going to pitch a fit about it. I want Emerson back just as much as anyone else... :)

as the subject of drunkenness goes... yesterday i started drinking Cosmos at about 3pm, got drunk enough to go shopping at 7 (didn't drive, don't worry) then drank a couple beers at the club. Apparently I posted at some point in there.

God help me when i get a new iMac w/ an iSight and people can *see* me after a night of debauchery...

What's jamba juice? Is it some kind of exotic fruit? Sounds interesting.

Aw, you don't have Jamba Juice! It's a company ("fast food") that makes smoothies with all natural ingredients and they are very, very good. They come in a variety of flavors and they're great!

The Macophot developed as completely blank, except for one image that is barely visible. I shot the roll at 2:30 in the afternoon, so there was plenty of light, but I was shooting in the light shade of the tree canopies using the R72 filter, so maybe the light wasnt strong enough with the filter on, but Im not happy with that conclusion, something else went wrong, since I used the Kodak at the for a few shots inside of a hotel, where the light was really low and the pics came out. The other possibility was the film was over developed, and the developing solution washed the film clean (I think that is more likely ) But then I also think that the camera store also might be playing me since I bought both rolls of film there, The Maco. was $9 a roll and the Kodak $17, So Im thinking if that IS truely the case that they are playing me, they are trying to get me to buy only the more expensive film.

Def. get out into the world and use the camera as therapy.
Use everything that you feel, and put it into photos.
Im loving taking photos, I have found myself more and more wanting to have a camera with me at all times now. The world is so completely different when looking through the viewfinder. Even if your not in the mood or motivated, get out there and take pics, you never know what you might capture, dont throw any images away, stash the ones you concider unworthy in a seperate place and come back to them later, you might notice something you havent before. Photography is great thearapy.

Guys, I need some help...

Okay, first let me give you some background on the situation. Last year I met this guy online, who i'll call "Al" for short. Well, things were awesome and we quickly became really good friends. At first he was just going to help me with french (I was struggling big time in french class and he knew it pretty good). But, overtime we got closer and closer and found out each other was gay. So, we got about as close as you can get online, and would even talk on the phone all the time up into the weee hours of the night.

Thing is, his parents know he's gay from some things that happened at his school (backstabbing, GR) and they found out about us talking on the phone and on the computer. Well, they didn't really like it, and basicaly forbib him to talk to me. But, we found ways and would still talk when we could because we loved to talk. Eventually this came to and end though.

Now, A lil background on his parents. They're egotistical, bigotted, bitches -- to be blunt. And in the past have been physically abusive (though, not anymore), but are still verbally abusive and he has nothing that even resembles privacy. (They have a Sat. phone to track any number that comes in and goes out on their phone, have spyware on his computer that tracks everything he types and take screen captures every 30seconds, so on and so on.)

Well, When hurricane Rita was headed for Texas (Which is where he lives), I got realllllly worried. I hadn't talked to him in months, but still thought about him alot and wondered what he's doing all the time. So, I found one of his friends and got her to check on him for me with the whole evacuation thing. Well, he wanted me to call him, so after the football game on Friday night I road around and we talked/cried/laughed/etc for about 5 hours. And things we're going okay, and we "faked" everything to like we had just met online and stuff and that I wasn't gay, so that we could still talk and keep up with each other. Well, Somehow his parents found out again, and now have kicked him off the computer, phone, and probably taken his car from him. And I doubt he'll be getting any back for a LONG time.

And, now i'm just lost. I don't have a freaking clue what to do. I wanna talk to him SO bad. Even if only being able to say hey once in a while, it's better than nothing. But, I know for his sake I should let things go and let him be. Try and forget him so that I will stop ruining his life where his parents are concerned. It's been almost a year now since we first met, so even tho it sounds like all this happened really really quick, it's actually been a pretty long drawn out thing. But, any advice from people in the know about what to do? Let it go? Don't give up?! GAHH! I'm lost. :(

Frozone,
Yeah I can relate to your troubles, and while the first thing that comes to mind is for you to sit in your favourite hot room with a heap of ice !

Second thing, does he have a cell phone, and for that matter, do you? With some cell plans you can have unlimited calls at night for example. In NZ text messaging is 'de rigueur' Hell, even I use it all the time for texts to Thailand et al. So, with cells you'd be able to stay in touch with both words and talk.

Thirdly, Don't Ever Give Up !!!

Hope this may help in some small way.

Well, I have a cell phone and that's what I would talk to him on. And he "shares" a cell phone with his dad. Which is what he used half the time to talk, (Whole lot safer than his house phone.) I miss him already :(

BTW, I see you've not forgotten the ice thing... lol

OK, so you're half way there. Y'all just have to suss out how to get him his own cell and you'll be home free. Another thought is if he'd be able to meet you online via an Internet Cafe, or from a friends house while you sort things out.

Yeah, how could I forget one of the sweetest fetishes in the thread, at the time I thought of the book 'The Iceman Cometh' quite a classic in it's time. Anyway, you just hang in there, and you'll find a way.

Him getting his own cell phone wouldn't work. His parents watch him like crazy to make sure he's not doing any "Un-Christian" things. I guess only time will though.

LoL, I'm not sure abou the "sweetest" fetish. Maybe one of the weirder fetishes tho. I've never met nor heard of anyone with the same fetish. Should prove fun someday, though. :)

Oh, What's that bit at the end of your post mean?

Frozone,
If he got his own phone, he'd be able to call you whenever he's out and about, even from under his duvet. I assume he's still a student like you. Recess times, while in detention, whatever. It's a bit grim with his folks being southern 'christians' though. Get him to put a sign on his door;

Procul, o procul este, profani.
Far, far from me, Let all profane ones be.

And my favourite, translated from Latin means;
Omini vincit Amor: et nos cedamus Amori.Love conquers all; and we succumb to love.

Take Care,
Kevin,
